4. Entrance Channel Effect on Incomplete Fusion

Abstract

In the present work, the onset and strength of incomplete fusion were studied in terms of various entrance channel parameters. Excitation functions for individual evaporation residues were measured in the 12C+169Tm system at energies from 5 to 7.5AMeV, and analysed in the framework of the statistical model code PACE-IV to deduce the fraction of incomplete fusion. It was found that the probability of incomplete fusion increases with the incident energy as well as with the mass asymmetry of interacting partners for individual projectiles. Moreover, the critical value of the input angular momentum (lcrit) obtained from the experimental cross sections was compared with that calculated using the Wilczynski formula and a slight difference has been found. © 2018 Jagellonian University. Abstract

We have investigated nuclear fragmentation reactions of a relativistic Pb-208 beam. Ten isomeric states for nuclei with A = 142-152 and Z = 62-67 were observed. Measured isomeric ratios were compared, together with values from other experiments, with prediction of theoretical models. The discrepancies between the experimental and theoretical values were discussed in terms of transitions by-passing the isomer that are not included in the models.

Abstract

The poorly known B(E2; 0(+) -> 2(+)) values of Sn-112 and Sn-114 have been measured to high precision. Two Coulomb excitation experiments were performed to determine the reduced transition probabilities relative to Sn-116 in order to minimize the systematic errors. The obtained B(E2 up arrow) values of 0.242(8) e(2)b(2) for Sn-112 and 0.232(8) e(2)b(2) for Sn-114 confirm the tendency of large B(E2 up arrow) values for the lighter tin isotopes below the midshell Sn-116 that has been observed recently in various radioactive ion beam experiments.
