A recommendation system serves as a distributed information filter, predicting customer preferences in reviews, ratings, and comments. Analysing customer behaviour aids in understanding needs and predicting intentions. E-commerce tracks product usage and sentiment to provide a personalized network based on consumer preference modelling. The challenge lies in optimizing item selection for suitable consumers to enhance performance. To address this, an imperative is the item recommendation approach for modelling future consumer behaviour. However, traditional machine learning methods often overlook dynamic product recommendations due to evolving user interests and changes in preferences reflected in customer ratings, causing cold-start issues. To overcome these challenges, a comprehensive deep learning approach is introduced. This approach incorporates a deep neural network for consumer preference prediction, utilizing a multi-task learning paradigm to accommodate variations in consumer ratings. The research contribution lies in applying this network to predict consumer preference scores based on latent multimodal information and item characteristics. Initially, the architecture manages changing consumer aspects and preferences by extracting features and latent factors from customer review rating data. These latent factors include customer demographic information and other concealed features that signify preferences based on experiences and behaviours. Extracted latent features are processed using a sentiment analysis model to generate embedding latent features. A finely-tuned deep neural network with hyper-parameter adjustments serves as a prediction network, forming a customer performance-oriented recommendation system. It processes embedded latent features along with associated sentiments to achieve high prediction accuracy, reliability, and latency. The deep learning architecture, enriched with consumer-specific discriminative information, generates an objective function for item recommendations with minimal error, significantly enhancing predictive performance. Empirical experiments on Amazon review datasets validate the proposed model's performance, showcasing its enhanced effectiveness and scalability in handling substantial data volumes. In recent generations of the digital world medical data in Recommender Systems. Health Care Recommender System (HCRS) analyses the medical data and then predicts the user's or patient's illness. Nowadays, healthcare data is used by various users or patients in recommendation systems which are useful for everyone. Analysing and predicting medical data provides awareness to users and these data predictions may be enriched using various techniques of RS. Machine learning techniques are used to make sure that health data is reliable and of high quality. In every RS the issues are targeted such as scalability, sparsity and cold start problems. In many social networking applications, these issues are resolved using ML algorithms. However, there is a significant gap between IT systems and medical diagnosis. The fuzzy genetic method is used in HCRS in order to bridge the gap between IT and healthcare applications. Through the use of the mutation and crossover operators, a real-value genetic method is used in this to compute similarity. With the user's extra personalized information, fuzzy rules are later generated for the database. The Hybrid fuzzy-genetic method, also known as this situation, combines both techniques to improve recommendation quality. Utilizing this method will improve the quality of the recommendation process by discovering the most precise similarity measures among different users. Six factors are subjected to fuzzification, including age, gender, employment, height, weight, and region. Genre-interesting measure weights are then used, including Very Light, Light, Average, Heavy, and Very Heavy. Finally, the evaluation metrics used MAE and RMSE to evaluate the recommendation accuracy which showed the best results in comparison with baseline approaches such as Convolutional Neural Networks and Restricted Boltzman Machine. Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce that enables customers to purchase products directly from the seller over the internet using a web browser or a mobile application. With the growing number of research papers on Deep Learning (DL)-based recommendations, DL models have proven to be effective in Recommender systems. Hence in this paper, relevant product accessories recommendation is proposed using deep learning and histogram features. The proposed recommendation describes the novel way of content-based filtering which divides the work into two phases. In phase 1, the implemented approach determines the color and category of the product. In phase 2, the recommendation system retrieves the matching accessories for the chosen product. For phase 1, Decision Tree, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and a novel method of Stack dense Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) along with the color histogram is applied to identify the category and color of the product. It is justified that the proposed technique of stack dense RNN achieves 98% accuracy. In phase 2, from the Machine Learning (ML) perspective, Random Forest (RF) is employed for the recommendation. Recommender systems based on sentiment analysis become challenging due to the presence of enormous data available over the internet. With the lack of proper data cleaning and analysis methods, existing machine learning (ML) techniques fail to generate accurate recommendations. To overcome this issue, this paper proposes a Light Deep Learning (LightDL)-based recommender system that uses Twitter-based reviews. First, the data is collected from Twitter and cleaned by subsequent data cleaning processes. Then, this pre-processed data is fed into the LightDL model, which learns the important features like hashtags, unigrams, multigrams, etc. from each piece of data. Here, we have learned about four groups of features, including semantic features, syntactic features, symbolic features, and tweet-based features. Finally, the data is classified into positive, negative, and neutral categories according to the learned features. On the basis of classified sentiment, the review is generated to the users. Finally, the model is evaluated in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, f-measure, and error rate through extensive experiments in Matlab. The e-learning is necessary in this fast internet world, especially during this pandemic situation, to continue education without any interruption and it is used reduce the educational cost significantly when reduces the energy loss. Generally, machine learning and deep learning algorithms are used to identify patterns that facilitate learning and help learners understand concepts easily. Many content recommendation systems are available for assisting learners as e-learning applications by providing the required study materials. Despite the fact that existing recommendation systems struggle to provide precise content to e-learners due to the availability of a massive volume of data on the internet and other repositories. For this purpose, we propose a new content recommendation system for recommending suitable content to learners according to their interests and learning capabilities. The proposed content recommendation system employs a newly proposed semantic-aware hybrid feature optimizer that incorporates new optimization algorithms such as the Enhanced Personalized Best Cuckoo Search Algorithm (EpBestCSA) and the Enhanced Harris Hawks Optimization Algorithm (EHHOA) for selecting suitable features that aid in improving prediction accuracy, as well as a newly proposed Deep Semantic Structure Model (DSSM) that incorporates Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). According to the experimental results, the proposed model outperforms other recommendation systems in terms of precision, recall, f-measure, and prediction accuracy. Counterfeit drugs are without a doubt becoming a greater hazard to consumers and the pharmaceutical sector. As a result, real-time visibility of drug manufacturing and management is required. The proposed system uses Ethereum blockchain as the main technology. The primary advantage of blockchain technology is that the transactions are maintained in immutable digital ledger format and it may be read easily without jeopardizing the users' security and privacy. In our proposed system, the admin validates and adds the manufacturers. The manufacturer after registering and logging in can perform tasks like adding the drug and seller list. The seller can place order to the manufacturer which the manufacturer can accept or reject. The seller can update status of order of accepted orders to delivered. The customer can view the order details by entering the serial number on the drug package. Any transaction or exchange that occurs in the network is recorded in the chain. It functions similarly to other networks, but blockchain technology is distinguished by the fact that no data can be removed or altered by anyone in the network. No changes to the network can be made unless it has been validated by all of the network's authorized users. All the information stored can be read by anybody so to incorporate more security, AES has been used to store data in the blockchain. The use of AES encryption technique distinguishes this system from all the existing implementations. Thus, this makes it easy to trace to the exact point in the supply chain and detect any counterfeit drugs in movement. As an extension to the drug counterfeit prevention system a Drug Recommendation System is also performed using the ensemble model with a combination of Random Forest and Logistic Regression for sentiment analysis training. Furthermore, when compared to the existing Linear SVM model, which has an accuracy of 90.39%, the suggested model has the best accuracy of 93.31%. Knowledge graphs have been introduced into recommender systems due to the rich connectivity information. Many knowledge-aware recommendation methods use graph neural networks (GNNs) to capture the high-order structural and semantic information of knowledge graphs. However, previous GNN-based methods have the following limitations: (1) they fail to make full use of the neighborhood information of entities and (2) they ignore the importance of user interaction sequences on reflecting user preferences. As such, these models are insufficient for generating accurate representations of users and items. In this study, we propose a Knowledge-aware Hierarchical Attention Network (KHAN) to provide better recommendation. Specifically, the proposed model mainly consists of an item encoder and a user encoder. The item encoder is equipped with a hierarchical attention network, which is used to generate entity (item) representations by carefully aggregating neighborhood information of entities. The user encoder is also designed to learn more informative user representations from user interaction sequences using multi-head self-attention. The learned user representations are then combined with user representations introduced in the item encoder through a gating mechanism to generate the final user representations. In the era of big data, recommender systems (RSs) have become growing essential tools. They represent important machine learning solutions that mainly contribute to keeping users engaged with personalized content in e-platforms. Several RSs have been proposed in the literature, and most of them have focused on English content. However, for content in other languages like Arabic, very restricted works have been done to develop RSs. In recent times, the Arabic content on the Web has increased significantly because of the growing number of Arabic web users. This highlights the need for building RSs for Arabic content. To better handle this challenge, we decided to provide the research community with a novel deep learning (DL)-based RS devoted to Arabic content. The main goal of the proposed RS is to predict user preferences from textual reviews written in the Arabic language. This is achieved by combining two independent DL techniques into one system: a convolutional neural network (CNN)-text processor for representing users and items; and a neural network, in particular, a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) to estimate interactions between user-item pairs. Extensive experiments on four large-scale Arabic datasets demonstrate that our proposed system can achieve better prediction accuracy than other state-of-the-art alternatives. Notably, it improves the MSE between 0.84% and 16.96%, and the MAE between 0.14% and 13.71%. Recommender systems apply machine learning and data mining techniques for filtering unseen information, and they can provide an opportunity to predict whether a user would be interested in a given item. The main types of recommender systems are collaborative filtering (CF) and content-based filtering, which suffer from scalability and data sparsity resulting in poor quality recommendations and reduced coverage. There are two incremental algorithms based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) with high scalability for recommender systems which are named the incremental SVD algorithm and incremental Approximating the Singular Value Decomposition (ApproSVD) algorithm. In both mentioned methods, the estimated value of rank for approximating the recommender systems' data matrix is chosen experimentally in the related literature. In this paper, we investigate the role of singular values for estimating a more reliable amount of rank in the mentioned dimensionality reduction techniques to improve the recommender systems' performance. In other words, we offered a strategy for choosing the optimal rank that approximates the data matrix more accurately in incremental algorithms with the help of singular values. The numerical results illustrate that the suggested strategy improves the accuracy of the recommendations and run times of both algorithms when employs for Movielens, Netflix, and Jester dataset. Ordinal regression has been widely used in applications, such as credit portfolio management, recommendation systems, and ecology, where the core task is to predict the labels on ordinal scales. Due to its learning efficiency, online ordinal regression using passive aggressive (PA) algorithms has gained a much attention for solving large-scale ranking problems. However, the PA method is sensitive to noise especially in the scenario of streaming data, where the ranking of data samples may change dramatically. In this paper, we propose a noise-resilient online learning algorithm using the Ramp loss function, called PA-RAMP, to improve the performance of PA method for noisy data streams. Also, we validate the order preservation of thresholds of the proposed algorithm. Experiments on real-world data sets demonstrate that the proposed noise-resilient online ordinal regression algorithm is more robust and efficient than state-of-the-art online ordinal regression algorithms. The purpose of aspect-level sentiment analysis is to identify the contextual sentence expressions given by sentiment for some aspects. For previous works, many scholars have proved the importance of the interaction between aspects and contexts. However, most existing methods ignore or do not specifically capture the position information of the aspect targets in the sentence. Thus, we propose an aspect-level sentiment analysis based on joint aspect and position hierarchy attention mechanism network. At the same time, the model adopts a joint approach to make the model of the aspect features and the position features. On the one hand, this method clearly captures the interaction between aspect words and context when inputting word vector information. On the other hand, this method can enhance the importance of position information in the sentence and boost the information retrieval ability of the model. Additionally, the model utilizes a hierarchical attention mechanism to extract feature information and to differentiate sentiment towards, which is similar to filtering useless information again. In Machine Learning scenarios, privacy is a crucial concern when models have to be trained with private data coming from users of a service, such as a recommender system, a location-based mobile service, a mobile phone text messaging service providing next word prediction, or a face image classification system. The main issue is that, often, data are collected, transferred, and processed by third parties. These transactions violate new regulations, such as GDPR. Furthermore, users usually are not willing to share private data such as their visited locations, the text messages they wrote, or the photo they took with a third party. On the other hand, users appreciate services that work based on their behaviors and preferences. In order to address these issues, Federated Learning (FL) has been recently proposed as a means to build ML models based on private datasets distributed over a large number of clients, while preventing data leakage. A federation of users is asked to train a same global model on their private data, while a central coordinating server receives locally computed updates by clients and aggregate them to obtain a better global model, without the need to use clients' actual data. In this work, we extend the FL approach by pushing forward the state-of-the-art approaches in the aggregation step of FL, which we deem crucial for building a high-quality global model. Specifically, we propose an approach that takes into account a suite of client-specific criteria that constitute the basis for assigning a score to each client based on a priority of criteria defined by the service provider. Collaborative filtering (CF), one of the most famous methods for building recommendation systems, recommends relevant items to users or predicting ratings of users' unknown items. Matrix factorization (MF) models are well-known model to deal with predicting the rating problem. However, the recommendation system based on matrix factorization is hard to keep up with the rapidly changing real-world data. When ratings on new users or new items come, the static model can not fit well on new data. As a consequence, if the current thing does not apply, the prediction accuracy will lose. In addition, it is a significant computation cost to rebuild the model on the whole data. To capture these changes, in this paper, we construct an online-and-offline Collaborative Filtering with a multi-method model to improve the traditional CF method, called Online SGD with Offline Knowledge (OSGDO for short). Besides, we propose a real-time incremental recommendation framework on Apache Flink, which is a scalable stream and batch data processing platform. Meanwhile, we implement our proposed method on our proposed framework. Our method proves to be good at online training when new observations arrive. And the results of experiments show that the dynamic training process we proposed is more efficient than rebuild the model on all the data. At the same time, our algorithm performs well in practice and can achieve impressive accuracy quickly when it is tested with the well-known data sets of MoviesLens and Netflix. Intelligent exercise recommendation is a research focus in the field of online learning that can help learners quickly find exercises suitable for them from the exercise bank. However, exercise recommendation differs from product or film recommendation because of some special requirements. First, the recommended exercises must cover all knowledge points geared toward the learning objective of the learner. Second, the difficulty of exercises must match the knowledge level of the target learner. In response to the above requirements, this study proposes an exercise recommendation algorithm that integrates learning objective and assignment feedback. This algorithm considers not only the coverage of knowledge points but also the knowledge level of learners to help them find highly suitable exercises. According to this algorithm, the learning objective of the learner must be initially identified to obtain a course knowledge set that suits his/her learning objective. Second, the understanding of the learner about the knowledge set must be judged based on the assignment feedback. Third, suitable exercises are recommended based on the knowledge level of the learner and the course knowledge structure. The proposed algorithm is experimentally verified by using a real-world dataset and by comparing it with other algorithms. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the other algorithms in both precision and recall. In this paper, we propose a framework based on Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning for dialogue management in a Conversational Recommender System scenario. The framework splits the dialogue into more manageable tasks whose achievement corresponds to goals of the dialogue with the user. The framework consists of a meta-controller, which receives the user utterance and understands which goal should pursue, and a controller, which exploits a goal-specific representation to generate an answer composed by a sequence of tokens. Recommender systems employ machine learning and data mining techniques for filtering unseen information and can predict whether a user would like a given resource. To date a number of recommendation algorithms have been proposed, where collaborative filtering and content-based filtering are the two most famous and adopted recommendation techniques. Moreover, machine learning classifiers can be used for recommendation by training them on items' content information. These systems suffer from scalability, data sparsity, over specialisation, and cold-start problems resulting in poor quality recommendations and reduced coverage. Hybrid recommender systems combine individual systems to avoid certain aforementioned limitations of these systems. In this paper, we proposed unique generalised switching hybrid recommendation algorithms that combine machine learning classifiers with the collaborative filtering recommender systems. We also provide various variants of the proposed algorithm by using Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) based recommendations, utilising SVD over collaborative filtering, and utilising SVD combined with Expected Maximisation (EM) algorithm. Experimental results on two different datasets, show that the proposed algorithms are scalable and provide better performance - in terms of accuracy and coverage - than other algorithms while at the same time eliminate some recorded problems with the recommender systems. This paper proposes task-oriented content-based recommendation for cross service recommendation. The proposed method has two features: one is that task-based features are automatically mined from the web, second is that it estimates user's intention on task, which means "what user wants to do" and "what problem user has" by task-based profile representation. We evaluate improvement of recommendation accuracy by user evaluation, in which we collect ratings on variety of contents (i.e. mobile web content, TV programs, restaurants, sightseeing spots, and hotels) from 1,859 people and conduct cross validation. In an experiment, the combination of task-based profile representation and term-based representation yields a 17.7% improvement in MAE (Mean Absolute Error) compared to term-based profile representation only or domain (content category) based profile representation only. We consider techniques based on artificial neural networks for combining collaborative (social) and content information in a recommender system in order to enhance recommendation performance. We find that the recommendation quality achieved by a feedforward multilayer perceptron network operating on combined collaborative and content-based information (preprocessed using the singular value decomposition) is statistically significantly better than that of a network that is provided with the collaborative data alone, assuming that dimensionality reduction is performed on the collaborative and content-based data components separately. We propose a mixture of attribute experts neural network architecture that exploits the natural division between content and social information in order to reduce the number of network connections, resulting in more efficient training and recommendation than a standard fully connected network. We characterize the set of functions that can be expressed by mixture of attribute experts networks. The top 3 precision achieved by a recommender system based on our mixture of attribute experts architecture is superior to that of a purely collaborative system at a strong statistical significance level (P< 0.01).
