4. Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity over Pt-assisted metal-organic frameworks dominated by transition metal ions and local coordination environments.

Abstract

Three isostructural pillared-layer frameworks with M-BDC-X layers supported by ditopic HL connectors, [M(HL)(BDC)0.5X]n (HL = 4′-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-4,2′:6′,4″-terpyridine, BDC = terephthalate, M = Cd, X = Cl for (1), M = Cd, X = formate for (2), and M = Co, X = formate for (3)), were solvothermally synthesized, and used as photocatalysts for Pt-assisted visible-light-initiated hydrogen evolution from water splitting. These water-durable frameworks exhibit varied hydrogen production rates of 361.2, 271.3, and 327.5 μmol · g−1 · h−1 in 12 h due to their slightly different donor environments of the octahedral CdII and CoII ions. Further experimental and theoretical investigations reveal that the metal ions and the local coordination surroundings have essentially dominated the conduction band minimum and electric resistance of the charge transport, which play highly important roles for the improved catalytic hydrogen evolution ability. These findings demonstrate the electronic effect of the slightly ligand field modifications on the boosting hydrogen generation activity in the noble metal-assisted MOF photocatalytic systems. 6. Superdeformed Bands with Δ I = 4 Bifurcation of the Odd- A Nuclei in the A ~190 Region

Abstract

The γ-ray energy (Eγ) spectra of the superdeformed (SD) bands of odd-A nuclei in the A~190 mass region are investigated systematically. It is found that a ΔI = 4 bifurcation exists in the SD bands. Within the supersymmetry scheme including many-body interactions and a perturbation possessing the SO(5) (or SU(5)) symmetry on the rotational symmetry, the Eγ spectra, dynamical moments of inertia and Eγ differences δ4Eγ(I) of these bands are evaluated. Quantitative good results are obtained which show that the scheme is powerful to describe the ΔI = 4 bifurcation. The ΔI = 4 bifurcation may then come from the perturbation holding the SO(5) (or SU(5)) symmetry on the rotation. From a microscopic point of view, the ΔI = 4 bifurcation may be a result of the combination of the β-phonon, γ-phonon and the rotation.

Abstract

A stable 10 GHz ultrashort pulse generator consisted of an electroabsorption modulator (EAM) and a well-designed fibre-based pulse compressor is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The obtained short pulse has high extinction ratio, no pedestal, low timing jitter, and FWHM of only 2.4 ps. The excellent performance of multiplexing from 10 GHz to 160 GHz confirms the potential of the generator for applications in 160 Gbit/s optical time-division-multiplexing (OTDM) systems.
