Abstract

In order to prepare and optimize a novel and efficient hemostatic material, a hemostatic microcapsule was prepared by piercing granulation technique with carboxymethyl chitosan and sodium alginate as substrate materials. Three factors in the process (mass percentage of carboxymethyl chitosan, concentration of calcium chloride and pH value of cross-linking system) were investigated through single-factor experiment to explore the effect of experimental factors on water absorbance of hemostatic microcapsule. On the basis of single-factor experiment, orthogonal experiment was conducted to optimize the preparation process of hemostatic microcapsule. Optimized process conditions were obtained as following: mass percentage of carboxymethyl chitosan 25%, concentration of calcium chloride 3.0% and cross-linking system pH=9.0. Microcapsule with normal morphology, uniform particle size, good dispersibility and porous structure was prepared under these conditions. And its water absorbance ratio reached 16.17. In vitro procoagulant test showed that the microcapsule had satisfactory procoagulant effect and was in a dose dependent manner.

Abstract

Porous anodic alumina (PAA) films have become popular nanotemplates due to the ordered hexagonal pore array structure. The fabrication of well-ordered PAA films with larger interpore distances is still a challenge to date. Here, we develop a unique electrolyte system based on the reaction products of ethylene glycol (EG) with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP). In the novel electrolytes, stable high-voltage anodization with extremely high current densities (the peak value is close to 300 mA cm-2) can be realized at 400 V or even higher without breakdown. In 5 wt% EG-ADP-based electrolyte containing phosphoric acid, a well-ordered PAA film with an interpore distance of ~610 nm can be fabricated at 250 V at a high growth rate of 1.3 μm· min-1. Abstract

The mechanism of titanium anodization is unclear yet. The total current includes ionic and electronic currents. The ionic current drives oxide film growth and the electronic current causes oxygen bubble emission. Based on a former derivation, a mathematical model of voltage-time transient curves during galvanostatic anodizing under higher current densities (>10 mA/cm²) was developed. The high-current model shares the same mechanism of oxide formation with the former low-current model, but the calculation of electric field is different. The results show high accuracy of fitted curves, and prove the linear correlation between nanotube length and ionic current. The two models vary in the applicable ranges, because the relation between ionic currents and electric field is different under high and low field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
