RX-0201 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) against Akt1 currently in clinical trial for metastatic renal cancer.To improve the delivery of RX-0201 using folate receptor-targeted lipid-albumin nanoparticles (F-LAN).F-LAN were synthesized with the composition of DOTAP/soyPC/TPGS/folate-PEG-DSPE (25:70:4:1 m/m), a cationic human serum albumin-pentaethylenehexamine (HSA-PEHA) conjugate and RX-0201. The nanoparticles were evaluated in KB human carcinoma cells in vitro and in a KB murine xenograft tumour model in vivo for pharmacokinetics and antitumor activities.The F-LAN-RX-0201 had a mean particle size of 108.6 ± 5.8 nm, zeta potential of 10.5 ± 3.2 mV and ASO loading efficiency of 71.5 ± 4.5%. In KB cells, uptake and Akt1 inhibition by F-LAN-RX-0201 were greater than those of non-targeted LAN-RX-0201 and could be partially blocked by excess free folate. F-LAN-RX-0201 inhibited cell growth with an ICF-LAN-RX-0201 showed promise as a therapeutic agent for tumours with elevated folate-receptor expression.

Gallbladder bile is one of the most abundant body fluids, and metabolic compositions of the bile are highly correlated with several gallbladder diseases (gallstones, gallbladder polyps, cholecystitis, and biliary tract cancer). The gallbladder diseases are generally diagnosed by several different imaging methods in the clinic; however, none of them can readily reveal detailed information about the diseases in molecular levels. Here, we have applied various nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in order to identify and analyze composition of the human gallbladder bile, since the spectroscopic method provides not only structural information but also dynamic information of low- and high-weighted metabolites. Recently, a novel combined multi-polar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic field device was developed for non-ablative skin tightening. However, little is known about the clinical effects of this device.The present study evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of the multi-polar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic field device.Ten Korean patients underwent eight treatment sessions over 6 weeks. Clinical photographs of the skin were taken before and after the treatment at each week of treatment. Satisfaction score (0; dissatisfied, 5; neutral, 10; very satisfied) and pain score (0; no pain, 10; too painful) was determined using weekly questionnaires. A dermatologist evaluated the improvement of facial skin aging, including laxity, nasolabial fold, facial contour, skin texture, and skin color tone.The mean satisfaction score was high (8) and the mean pain score was low (1.5). Improved skin laxity, nasolabial fold, and facial contour were observed in four, one, and three patients, respectively. Skin texture and skin color tone improved in 90% and 70% of the patients, respectively.The novel combined multi-polar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic field device is safe and effective for rejuvenating aged skin in Korean subjects.

Behavior of fiber reinforced composite pressure vessels has been analyzed and developed theoretically. Winding angle and temperature are two kinds of effect factors on filament wound composite pressure vessels. FEM method, elastic solution procedure based on Lekhnitskii's theory and thickwalled theory were employed to verify the optimum winding angles. The aim of this study was to investigate processing parameters of continuous fiber reinforced epoxy composite pipes produced by the filament winding technique. For this purpose, two kinds of tests were performed for the specimen produced with two different methods, five different winding angles and five different curing temperatures. By determining the hoop tensile strength and precision, the winding angle, thermal properties and fitting temperature were evaluated.
