Combining network pharmacology with molecular docking, our study revealed the candidate targets and mechanisms of Shu Yu Wan (SYW) for treating cervical cancer (CC). The targets associated with CC and active compounds in SYW were identified through TCGA, GeneCards and TCMSP databases. Consequently, a total of 16 active compounds in SYW and 38 common targets related to CC were predicted. Genes TP53 and CDK2 are among the hub genes in the PPI network. The results of GO and KEGG enrichment analyses suggested that SYW exerted pharmacological effects on CC by regulating cellular senescence, p53 signaling pathway, cell cycle, apoptosis, viral carcinogenesis and human papillomavirus infection (HPV) signaling pathway. Finally, molecular docking confirmed a strong binding affinity between the main active compounds of SYW with the core target proteins.

In the present study, we aimed to investigate the correlation of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, platelet to lymphocyte ratio, mean platelet volume with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus. The study enrolled 120 pregnant women who were the 24th and 28th weeks of gestation, including GDM group (n = 58), the control group (n = 62). The NLR, PLR and MPV levels were measured. NLR, PLR and MPV were significantly higher in GDM compared with control group. Logistic regression analysis showed that elevated WBC, NLR, PLR and MPV was an independent variable for predicting GDM in pregnancy. The OR and 95% CI was (OR: 1.6, 95% CI: 1.2–2.5), (OR: 4.1, 95% CI: 1.3–13.1), (OR: 5.5, 95% CI: 1.5–20.0), (OR: 4.0, 95% CI: 1.2–12.0), respectively. Soft corals of the genus Sinularia are widely distributed in the South China Sea. Two new lipid analogues (Z)-N-(3,4-dihydroxyphenethyl)-3-methyldo-dec-2-enamide (1) and (E)-1-(2,5-dihydroxy-4-methylphenyl)-6-acetoxy-2,3,7-trihydroxy-3,7,11,15-tetramethylhexadeca-11,14-dien (2), together with three known compounds (3–5) were isolated from the soft coral Sinularia flexibilis. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis, including one and two-dimensional NMR, MS, IR, UV, as well as by comparison with published data.

A loading dose of antiplatelets reduces in-stent thrombosis after stent implantation. However, whether it is safe in patients undergoing acute stenting after intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) is unclear.A case series of acute ischemic stroke patients treated with intravenous rt-PA followed by emergent stenting were prospectively included in Jinling Hospital Stroke Unit. An emergent loading dose of antiplatelets (aspirin 300 mg and clopidogrel 300 mg) were administered to all patients through a nasogastric tube immediately before stenting. Clinical and angiographic outcomes were evaluated in these patients.A total of 12 patients were included. The median of NIHSS score on admission was 15 points (interquartile range 11-19). The median of time from stroke symptom onset to start IV rt-PA and stent placement was 172 min (interquartile range 123.75-189) and 311.5 min (interquartile range 285.5-349.5), respectively. All patients reached complete or partial recanalization (TICI ≥2a). One patient occurred hemorrhagic transformation at 24 h following the emergent loading dose of antiplatelets. A favorable outcome as defined by mRS ≤2 at 90 days was obtained in 58.3% (7/12) of all patients.Our finding preliminary suggested that an emergent loading dose of antiplatelets may be safe and feasible for acute stenting after IV rt-PA.

Since the concept of virtual water was put forward, there has been an increasing number of papers on the topic, as a result of which virtual water is now being mainstreamed in the water policy world. Unfortunately, virtual water trade strategy as a solution to water shortages is wrong and fallacious. Although the virtual water trade theory is considered a descendant of the comparative advantage theory of economics, it is in fact an over-simplification, going from the truth to fallacy. To make decisions of virtual water trade based on only one production factor, water, though there are many other production factors that influence the allocation of resources at the same time, is misleading theoretically and practically.

To get a better understanding of the effect of drying/wetting cycles on the mechanical cyclic behaviours of silty clay, cyclic triaxial tests were performed on slurry consolidated silty clay specimens with various numbers of drying/wetting cycles, matric suctions, cyclic shear stresses and loading frequencies. Additionally, the soil microstructure before and after drying/wetting cycles was investigated with scanning electron microscope. The laboratory test results indicate that the threshold cyclic stress ratio and cyclic shear strength increased significantly at low matric suction due to drying/wetting cycles, with the changes becoming more gradual as matric suction continues to increase. The variation of mechanical cyclic behaviours is attributed to the irreversible compression, development of micro-cracks and lower degree of saturation. In the present study, the risk coefficients of serum homocysteine (hcy), lipid levels, C-reactive protein (CRP), neutrophils to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in postmenopausal osteopenic women were determined.We enrolled 269 patients with postmenopausal women from Hangzhou No.1 Hospital gynecological clinic, who aged 45 to 60 years old and never received menopause hormone therapy. According to the bone mineral density determination results, subjects were divided into normal group (n = 128), osteopenia group (n = 141). Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Serum hcy, CRP and lipid indexes were determined by enzyme chemiluminescence immunoassay.The odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) of those variables (menopausal age, duration of menopause, LDL, CRP, hcy and NLR) were found significant (p 0.05). Menopausal age, duration of menopause, LDL, CRP, hcy and NLR variables were found statistically significant in the analysis of receiver operating characteristic (ROCs).The present study shows that menopause age, duration of menopause, serum LDL, CRP, hcy and NLR levels are risk factors for postmenopausal osteopenic women, which may be used as the indicators of bone loss in postmenopausal women.
