This study presents a novel time-domain feature to identify impact locations using Multilayer Perceptron. This feature is based on the minimum arrival time (MAT) of surface wave at a particular location of an object due to impact. Trial impact forces were made on a Perspex plate structure and corresponding acceleration responses were acquired from six locations. Two other conventional time-domain features – peak arrival time (PAT) and threshold crossing (TC), were compared with the proposed feature. Each feature was used separately as network inputs to identify 15 fixed impact locations. The results showed that impact localization with MAT feature resulted in the highest accuracy, making a relative decrease in error of 42.06 and 81.04% compared to PAT and TC cases, respectively. Despite owning only a couple of cattle, the landless, extreme poor can neither spare land for animal forage production nor can they afford to buy concentrate feed for their animals. In the flood-prone areas of Bangladesh, the most severe feed shortage occurs during July−October, when the low-lying pasturelands are flooded. Production, processing and preservation (silage-making) of high-yielding fodder, like Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum), can overcome such feed shortage. Existing silage-making techniques (e.g. pit silo) are not suitable for flood-prone areas. An innovative, low-cost silage-making technology has been developed and tested in 10 flood-prone villages of Sirajganj in 2012. The Kundu–Eckhaus equation and the derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equation describe various physical processes in nonlinear optics, plasma physics, fluid mechanics, magneto-hydrodynamic equation in the presence of the Hall Effect. Thus, closed form solutions of these equations are very important to realize the obscurity of the phenomena. The modified simple equation (MSE) method is highly effective and competent mathematical tool to examine closed form wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) arising in mathematical physics, applied mathematics and engineering. In this article, the MSE method is suggested and executed to construct closed form wave solutions of the above-mentioned equations involving parameters. When the parameters receive special values, impressive solitary wave solutions are derived from the exact solutions.

The enhanced (G′/G)-expansion method is highly effective and competent mathematical tool to examine exact traveling wave solutions of nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) arising in mathematical physics, applied mathematics, and engineering. Exact solutions of NLEEs play an important role to comprehend the obscurity of intricate physical phenomena. In this article, the enhanced (G′/G)-expansion method is suggested and executed to construct exact solutions of the first extended fifth order non-linear equation and the medium equal width equation. The solutions are presented in terms of the hyperbolic and the trigonometric functions involving free parameters. It is shown that the proposed method is effective and can be used for many other NLEEs in mathematical physics.
