- Abstract
The present study was conducted to determine phenological and morphological characteristics of sunflower species (Isera, C-70165 and Teknosol) under different nitrogen treatment doses (0, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 kg N da-1) during the growing seasons of 2011 and 2012 under ecological conditions of Erzurum. Experiments were carried out in randomized full blocks design with three replications. Emergence, flowering and ripening durations (days) were investigated as the phenological parameters and number of leaves, fresh and dry shoot yield (kg da-1) were investigated as morphological parameters. The emergence period were higher in the first year and ripening periods, numbers of leaves, fresh and dry shoot yield were higher in the second year of the experiments. Except for flowering period and number of leaves, nitrogen doses were significantly effective on the other parameters. The longest emergence period (13.8 gün) was observed in 12-15 kg da-1 N treatment. The longest ripening period (132.9 days) were observed in control treatment (with 0 kg da-1 N). The highest fresh and dry shoot yield (1161.6 kg da-1 and 363.3 kg da-1) were obtained from 15 kg da-1 N treatment. With regard to species, Isera had higher values in emergence period; C-70165 had higher number of leaves Teknosol had higher flowering periods, ripening periods, fresh and dry shoot yield. Considering dry shoot yield, the species Teknosol may be recommended under 15 kg N da-1 dose. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
