Abstract

A new unambiguous tracking technique for the sine-binary offset carrier (Sin-BOC(1,1)) and multiplexed binary offset carrier (MBOC(6,1,1/11)) signals is presented. This technique substitutes the combination of the auto-correlation function (ACF) and the absolute value of ACF (AACF) for the ACF in the coherent Early-minus-Late (EML) architecture loop. It can completely removes the side-peaks from the ACF of Sin-BOC(1,1) and MBOC(6,1,1/11) while still keeping the sharp main-peak, which maintains the multipath rejection property of the BOC modulation. The performances in terms of multipath mitigation are evaluated.

Abstract

The fault-generated high frequency signals contain much information which can be used to accurately locate the fault point in power systems. For capturing the high frequency signals, two specially designed traveling-wave sensors are developed in the paper. One is the current sensor installed on the earth line of capacitive equipment (such as: CVT, capacitive CT, transformer bushing, wall bushing) to capture the current traveling-waves flowing from the equipment to earth. The other is the voltage sensor installed at the zero sequence winding of a voltage transformer to capture the voltage traveling waves in three-phase generated by faults. The fault location system with the traveling wave sensors is also developed simply. The sensors and the fault location system have been tested on an 110 kV power system. Results show that the sensors have good performance to capture traveling-waves and the error of fault location is no more than 120 m.

Abstract

This paper proposes an adaptive modulation system for land wideband mobile communication to achieve high quality, high bit rate transmission on Rayleigh fading channels. We compare our scheme with fixed-rate schemes and research on the feasibility of this scheme in wideband mobile environments. The performances of the BER and the spectral efficiency are considered. Important parameters discussed are the fading rate and the block size used in the scheme. All the results are based on numerous of simulations.

Abstract

Based on the concept of pseudo correlation function (PCF), we propose an unambiguous tracking method for alternative binary offset carrier (AltBOC) modulated signal, which is employed in global navigation satellite system.The proposed method employs two specifically designed chip spreading symbols for local reference signals to generate a no side-peak function instead of the original multiple-peak auto correlation function (ACF) for tracking. 25. Ambiguity Mitigating Technique for Cosine-Phased Binary Offset Carrier Signal.

Abstract

This letter focuses on mitigating ambiguity for cosine-phased binary offset carrier (BOC) modulated signals which are used in the global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The main idea is to use the cross-correlation function (CCF) of the received cosine-phased BOC signal with the specifically designed local auxiliary signal to counterbalance the undesired side peaks of the received BOC autocorrelation function (ACF), the final correlation function has only two small positive side peaks which can be rectified by combing with the classical bump jump (BJ) technique easily. The modulated symbol of the local auxiliary signal is derived and simulations show that at the cost of some degradation of detection probability in the acquisition phase the proposed method is better than the traditional BJ method in mitigating the ambiguity for cosine-phased BOC signals, especially when the subcarrier frequency is high and even under multipath interference.
