This paper presents the design of a digital 2.4 GHz transmitter for ZigBee application. Low power and high frequency precision is realized by the proposed TDC in ADPLL. Tradeoff between loop bandwidth and data rate is avoided by building an all pass path from data input to DCO output, and no mismatch will happen between low pass and high pass paths. In this design, the bandwidth is kept below 200 KHz while the data rate is set to be 2 Mbps. The maximum deviation from ideal frequency is 63 KHz with TDC quantization error consideration.
