Previous research focused on the qualitative discussion of the correlation between surgical time and mortality in acute pancreatitis (AP). Recommendations for surgical timing of necrotizing pancreatitis are delayed as far as possible, without recommendations for individuals. The aim of this article is to predict timing of surgical intervention in necrotizing pancreatitis with recurrent neural network (RNN). Time series data in AP were retrospectively extracted from a hospital in China (n = 15,813) to develop model, and the Cerner Health Facts database in the United States (n = 142,650) was used to externally validate. The developed model, time-aware Phased-Decay long short-term memory (LSTM), was used to predict timing of surgical intervention and critical clinical features in necrotizing pancreatitis based on laboratory tests, compared to other machine learning models. Area under the ROC curve (AUC) of RNN-based models was more than 0.70. The AUC of time-aware Phased-Decay LSTM (0.75) with more explanatory was similar to that (0.76) of Phased-Decay LSTM to predict surgical timing. The developed model visualized the specific surgical process and laboratory indicators changes for the patients with AP from the onset to discharge. Different clinical features had different contribution modes with time to the specific surgical event in AP. Heart function contributed the most to the prediction of surgical intervention at the onset and in the first week. Our developed model could monitor the specific surgical process from the onset of AP to discharge and extract the contribution modes of clinical features with time in necrotizing pancreatitis.

In order to more efficiently meet people’s in-depth needs for knowledge acquisition and research, and to more effectively develop and use "the Canton Canon" historical archives, we designed and constructed the Canton Revolutionary History Knowledge Graph based on the revolutionary archives of Canton during the Republic of China. We associated the knowledge graph with the document corpus, transformed and combined the traditional digital library from document information management to knowledge management, and proposed a double-Layer retrieval mode of the document corpus based on the knowledge graph. At the same time, we developed "the Canton Canon" digital library based on the knowledge graph, and introduced the design and application of the digital library. It provides a great example of how to use huge archives more efficiently and build a more open digital library. What’s more, it also opens up new ideas for the transformation of Chinese digital libraries from information management to knowledge management.

Ovarian cancer is a fatal female reproductive cancer because it has no specific clinical manifestations and effective screening methods in the early stage. When it is discovered, it is already an advanced stage with a low cure rate. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the diagnostic ability of early screening for ovarian cancer. In this study, we feature engineered CA125 by calculating the rate of change of CA125 in addition to selecting a few top-ranked important features from PLCO ovarian cancer dataset. The dataset was extremely imbalanced; the imbalance ratio (ratio of negative samples in the majority class to positive examples in the minority class) was 143.7. Twenty-three types of class-imbalanced learning methods were used in this study to improve the predictive ability of the model. We identified the decision tree method with the highest AUC value among nine classic classifiers (decision tree, AdaBoost, etc.) to build a model with the class imbalance method, and showed their comparison. We identified the decision tree using SVMSMOTE has the most robust predictive ability for ovarian cancer, with a PPV of 0.9041, AUC of 0.9532, the sensitivity of 0.7792, and specificity of 0.9982. The high PPV shown by the model selected in this study indicates that the true positive samples predicted by the model account for 90.41%. Compared with other studies, the PPV of this study increased by 81.3%. This study helps to improve the accuracy of early screening for ovarian cancer and makes the diagnosis of ovarian cancer more reliable.

In order to study the LscW of Lawsonia intracellularis, the prokaryotic expression vector of LscW protein was constructed. Two primers were designed in this experiment. The 1197 bp lscW gene was amplified from L. intracellularis B3903 strain by PCR and inserted into pCold expression vector to construct recombinant plasmid pCold/lscW, which was transformed into BL21 competent cells. The positive clones were induced by IPTG, purified by protein purification column, and confirmed by SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis. The LscW was expressed in the supernatant and purified to obtain a single target protein band.

Based on the consolidated results of previous studies, factors which affect the willingness of online shopping of post-1990 students summarized as the point of view of consumer and online business. In perspectives of consumer, perceived useful, perceived ease of use, perceived price, perceived risk, personal trust tendencies are main factors. And Factors of network businesses are: web interface design, website service quality, shop reputation and network interaction. According to these nine factors, assumptions are made.

As the electric vehicle(EV)charging is playing an important role in distribution network, it has attracted more and more attention. In order to clarify the relationship between the operation mode of EVs, peak charging load and peak power load of grid, this paper defines two key parameters: coincidence factor and mutual coincidence factor. The variation tendencies of these two parameters under different EVs scale and charging rate are also analyzed. Based on the characteristics of EV charging load and the power load of distribution network in residential area, an evaluation method for distribution network supportability is proposed. Finally effectiveness of the evaluation method are verified by distribution network in residential area. The results show that by choosing the capacity of transformer properly, the ability of the distribution network for the integration of EV can be greatly improved.

Anonymous password-based authenticated key exchange (APAKE) protocols are a topic of ongoing research interest. However, the security of existing APAKE protocols is generally provided in the random oracle model, and in these protocols, passwords are stored in cleartext on the server. However, proofs of security in the random oracle model do not necessarily imply security in the real world. Recent high profile incidents also indicate the real risk of a server being compromised and information stored on the server leaked. Verifier-based password-authenticated key exchange (VPAKE) protocols have been identified as a viable solution to overcome such limitations. In this paper, we propose a novel verifier-based anonymous password-authenticated key exchange (VAPAKE) protocol constructed using smooth projective hashing function. The proposed protocol only involves two-round interactions for mutual implicit authentication. We then prove the security of the protocol in the standard model.

Evolvable hardware (EHW) is facing the problems of scalability. Evolutionary algorithms often trap into local optima, or stalling in the later procedure. This paper analyses the difficulty of EHW. To improve the efficiency of Cartesian Genetic Programming (CGP), Neighborhood searching and orthogonal experiment design are tailed to an orthogonal mutation operator and a new Orthogonal Cartesian Genetic Programming algorithm is proposed. Demonstrated by experiments on the benchmark, the proposed Orthogonal Cartesian Genetic Programming can jump out of Local optima and decrease the stalling effect.

This paper studies the distributed cooperative tracking problem for several typical second-order nonlinear uncertain multi-agent systems with bounded external and internal disturbances. In the first place, a distributed control algorithm is proposed for Von Der Pol oscillators which do not satisfy the Lipschitz condition by using extended state observer. In this case, the velocity measurements are not available for state feedback. Then the extended case when only absolute position and relative position measurements are available is studied, we develop the proposed algorithm by introducing distributed filter for each follower, and results shown that the state of follower converge to the time-varying leader. In addition, the consensus problem of a group of non-identical pendulums is studied and the distributed cooperative tracking can be achieved under the algorithm.

Considering model uncertainties and pneumatic disturbances in the complex flight environment during the aircraft terminal guidance process, a guidance law with angle constraint is introduced based on the Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC). The un-modeled dynamics, unknown acceleration information and unpredictable disturbances are lumped together and considered as the total disturbance in this paper, which is then estimated by Extended State Observer (ESO) and compensated in real time. The proposed strategy is independent of the model accuracy and predictive information of missile. The simulation results demonstrate that the scheme proposed under angle constraint is effective and the impact attitude angle is confined to a certain limit, leading to a higher guidance precision and strong robustness for the maneuvering target.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that has proven to be particularly valuable for examination of the soft tissues in the body. In this paper, a new denoising technique is proposed to remove the Rician noise from Magnetic Resonance Images using block DCT transform. It is well known that the noise in magnetic resonance imaging has a Rician distribution. Unlike additive Gaussian noise, Rician noise is signal dependent, and separating signal from noise is a difficult task. The proposed method adopt a weighted averaging schedule which uses direct component of small block DCTs to evaluate the weights. The proposed approaches were compared with other transform method such as wavelete thresholding methods, and produced much better results.

E-Commerce is such a fast-growing industry that traditional teaching method is hard to meet its need of development. Based on the experience of current teaching system and the analysis of practical needs of schools, teachers, students and enterprises, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) has developed 3E (E-Learning, E-Sharing, E-Creating) E-Commerce Education System (or 3E system for short), for the sake of the nurture of self-study ability, practical ability, creativity and employability. The 3E system links enterprise, school, teachers and students together. It provides a knowledge base, a bridge for communication and a practice platform of innovation, which is a great help to personnel training. When the 3E system matures, it can be applied to other universities for E-Commerce teaching.

Mass Customization is a brand new production mode, which combines the advantages of Mass Production and Customization together. However, during its operation, production cost, delivery lead time as well as the degree of customization satisfaction became the major isssues. In order to detect enterprise Mass Customization performance, a set of evaluation index, so call PMTO structure, was established. Moreover, a simulation process was carried out based on a real enterprise. Utilizing expert marking system, the weight of each evaluation element can be settled down, meanwhile subjective scores were converted into normalized evaluation values by which enterprise Mass Customization ability can be expressed quantitatively. On one hand, the final evaluation score can help enterprise understand its position in the overall Mass Customization development; on the other hand, by analysing any individual evaluation element score, the enterprise weakness can be discovered. Hence the relevant improvement in the weak area can be carried out effectivly. Therefore, this evaluation index provide certain decision making reference to companies which are in the convert process from Mass Production to Mass Customization.

Continuous LAI values are very important in crop growth monitoring, however, all of the remotely sensed LAI products are limited by the temporal and spatial resolution. High spatial resolution is good for crop monitoring but with very poor temporal sampling. The popular MODIS 8 day LAI product is still not sufficient for crop monitoring. An empirical crop growth model was developed based on two years' ground truth. It was then coupled with SAILH model to retrieve the continuous LAI day by day. A rolling inversion strategy was proposed further to minimize the random noise in the observations. The models coupled inversion was tested by simulation inversion. Results show significant improvements of the new inversion method.

This paper investigates the stabilization problem for unstable linear systems with input nonlinearities. It is shown that the global stabilization problem of the unstable linear systems with input nonlinearities is solvable if the input nonlinear functions satisfy a linear growth condition. The upper bound of the growth ratio relies on the solution of a set of Lyapunov equations. Moreover, the solvability condition can be applied to solve a global stabilization problem for a class of non-minimum phase nonlinear systems in output feedback form.

The university specialized computer laboratories undertake the computer experiment teaching, the extracurricular practice as well as the computer scholar research, the laboratory maintenance work is very frequent and also is arduous. How to make a comprehensive and effective laboratory supervision and management schema is an important practical problem. In this paper, combing with Microsoft's domain management schema with our custom windows service programs, we provide some research and practice innovation ideas. Practice has proved that our computer specialized laboratory supervision and management schemes reduce greatly manual operation maintenance, save hardware cost and achieve a high degree of automation management.

Pedagogical courses are the core Chinese teacher education. Traditionally, teaching of pedagogical courses adopts lecture as the main teaching method and teaching effects mainly rely on the knowledge and accomplishments of the teacher. So the teaching effects have great limitations. Based on database construction of pedagogical courses, we adopted ASP technology as the onstage development kit and ACCESS technology to manage the backstage teaching database, then through the interaction between ASP codes and database data, we designed education science teaching website, including the functional module of resource publishing, homework correction, permission assignment, resource download and network communication, etc., which implemented pedagogical courses teaching website as supplementary teaching.

The regional recognition based on urban culture is essentially about the design of city image as well as in a rapidly changing and keenly competitive environment. In order to solve the culture characteristic recognition and inheriting problem of a city, the work presented in this paper focuses on proposing an analysis and construction method of cultural characteristic element design DNA, which could be employed to mold the urban image. Then the construct system of characteristic design DNA of city in visual identity was present and the key technologies and the forming course of regional characteristic cultural elements were analyzed. Finally, Kensei engineering methods is used to achieve the visual sense of quantity. Through experiments and statistical analysis of results, the regional characteristic cultural elements image database is created.

The CDIO initiative is an innovative educational framework for producing the next generation of engineers. Take School of Information and Electronic Engineering of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology(ZUST) as example, we introduce the details of the teaching reform and innovation based on CDIO. We comprehensively revised the curriculum system, the assessment method, and the experiential learning environments. The goal of the reform is to develop and demonstrate a teaching reform and innovation which satisfies the educational goals for personal, interpersonal and system building skill that are codified in the CDIO Syllabus.

The efficiency, cost, and truthfulness are essentially about the exhibition of product design (PD) as well as in a rapidly changing and keenly competitive environment. The work presented in this paper focuses on presenting a new kind of product exhibiting method of PD, which introduced virtual reality (VR) into the course of exhibition of PD. In this paper, we bring up the structure model of the virtual exhibition room of product design (VRER) based on multimedia technology, and aim at expounding the method and process by which we construct the system. With the constant development of the multimedia technology, especially the network technology, we have more and more abundant exhibition means of PD. The virtual exhibition room of PD regarded as a new multimedia technology is one of the results. The VRER integrating with the sense of sight, hearing, and the tactile sense, can offer impression and experience equated with the true environment. Furthermore, the characteristics of VRER, such as small file amount, easy transmitting, lifelike, interaction, and so on, make the product design exhibition swifter and more effective. The VRER not only increases the efficiency of the PD exhibition, but also cuts down the cost of the exhibition. Finally, a design of VRER for special type truck is employed to demonstrate the above viewpoints.

There are three main types of service provider in China's express delivery market, namely China EMS, International express Giant and private express company. Due to their distinct characters on price, service level, infrastructure and other aspects, they are adopted by different customers. Considering the variety of service requirement, a configuration structure of potential alternative providers should be established. In this paper, a two-stage approach composed of Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Goal Programming (GP) is proposed. In the first stage, due to interdependence and feedbacks among the evaluation index elements ANP method is utilized to find a proper weight rank for each alternative. Furthermore, to realize a branch of multiobjective optimization Goal Programming helps determine the accurate business distribution proportion for each candidate company. Finally, a client company has been simulated by this approach.

Worldwide, cancers are the leading causes of human mortality. To successfully treat advanced-stage cancers, it is important to increase cytotoxicity of targeted tumor cells while reducing side effects on normal cells during radiotherapy. Nanotechnology provides a promising solution to achieve this targeted treatment[1–3]. An ideal strategy is to develop effective nanoscale radio-sensitizers targeting specifically at tumor cells. In this paper, we focus on gold-based nanoparticles as radio-sensitizers. Naked gold nanoparticles (GNPs) can accumulate at tumor tissues based on passively targeting mechanism and thus it can be used as a radio-sensitizer to kill cancers. However, GNPs conjugated with tumor-specific ligands are more promising for tumor diagnosis and treatment at the molecular scale. We have designed glucose-capped GNPs (or Glu-GNPs) to achieve specific targeting. Our preliminary results show a remarkable increase in cell-uptake of Glu-GNPs and also a significant increase of radiation cytotoxicity after applying irradiations.

Complex ad hoc join queries over enterprise databases are commonly used by business data analysts to understand and analyze a variety of enterprise-wide processes. However, effectively formulating such queries is a challenging task for human users, especially over databases that have large, heterogeneous schemas. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to automatically create join query recommendations based on input-output specifications (i.e.,input tables on which selection conditions are imposed, and output tables whose attribute values must be in the result of the query).The recommended join query graph includes (i) "intermediate'' tables, and (ii) join conditions that connect the input and output tables via the intermediate tables. Our method is based on analyzing an existing query log over the enterprise database. Borrowing from program slicing techniques, which extract parts of a program that affect the value of a given variable, we first extract "query slices'' from each query in the log. Given a user specification, we then re-combine appropriate slices to create a new join query graph, which connects the sets of input and output tables via the intermediate tables. We propose and study several quality measures to enable choosing a good join query graph among the many possibilities. Each measure expresses an intuitive notion that there should be sufficient evidence in the log to support our recommendation of the join query graph. We conduct an extensive study using the log of an actual enterprise database system to demonstrate the viability of our novel approach for recommending join queries.

It is well known the use of audiovisual teaching material may enhance the teaching effect, stimulate the student’ enthusiasm to study independently, solve heavy difficulty question of teaching, promote the reform of educational model. Recent years, we devoted to developing and researching the experimental teaching material based on the new media, further discussed the reform of the experiment teaching material under the new media environment. Utilize the new media technology to construct the experimental video frequency teaching system which based on non-linear network structure, to implement the multi-level three-dimensional experiment teaching system, to implement the opening experimental teaching system, to realize the dominant mode study for the student, and to create the condition for the student to carry out the research study .We take the video frequency teaching material of "Inorganic and analytical chemistry" as the example, to carry on the exploration and the practice for the video frequency teaching material construction, and has obtained certain achievement, archived certain approval from specialized teachers and students.

With the demanding requirement on speed and convenience, express delivery service has already become the major transmittal form for commercial documents, files, invoices, samples and etc. In China's express delivery market, China EMS, private company and international giants are the three main service providers. Due to different characters on service level, cost, infrastructure and other aspects, they dominate different segmented market. In the process of express delivery service configuration, a synthetic approach composed of Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Linear Programming (LP) is utilized. Based on the analysis of Chinese express delivery market, a set of evaluation index for express service provider is established. Applying analytic network process method, an evaluation model is built according to the established evaluation index. Furthermore, a selection and evaluation process is simulated for a freight forwarding company. Linear Programming then has been utilized to determine the exact business volume distribution among potential service providers. The result indicates ANP method is an effective way to solve management problem with interdependent relations and feedbacks. Meanwhile, Linear Programming helps determine the way to achieve the best business configuration proportion based on company's service requirement.

In the confidential computing issues of scientific computing, the confidential computing of matrix factorization is still no fruit home and abroad. This paper using Data perturbation assumption and Oblivious Transfer 1 out of k protocol, successfully construct confidential computing protocols of matrix general factorization and QR factorization. On the model of semi-honest, it can meet the confidentiality. At the same time, the method of this protocol is also suitable for confidential computing of matrix other factorizations.

The efficiency and quality of product design (PD) is essentially about designer as well as in a rapidly changing and keenly competitive environment. The work presented in this paper focuses on presenting a new kind of modeling method of product design, which introduced three-dimensional scanning technology into the course of PD. The method used in our study is known as direction by model. When we had an original draft, we manufactured products model first in the phase of concept design using some common materials such as wood, ABS, gypsum, greasy soil and so on. Than we measured the model with the three-dimensional scanner obtaining the point clouds of the model. Finally, we could construct the substantiated model through the point clouds. In comparison to the traditional computer aided design process, this method can firstly develop the originality of designer in a more extensive range. Secondly, we can acquire the feedback of feeling sense and touching sense of the product in an earlier phase, so we can save times and cost for bridge over the repeatedly modifying in the stage of prototype. In order to prove our view we carried out several studies which have demonstrated that this method can improve the efficiency of design process by 43% and decrease the times of amending in later period of the design by about 450%. And it cuts down the annulment rate too. Finally, the design of a curer instrument for amblyopia is employed to demonstrate the above viewpoints.

We study distributed power control for cognitive radio in this paper. The cognitive radio environment of multiusers is viewed as a non-cooperative game. In the condition of incomplete information, the efficient power control for two users can be realized by finite repeated gaming. If the repeated times M satisfy certain term, the two users can cooperate in the preceding phase of the repeated gaming, thus reaching the Pareto stable equilibrium point of the power allocation. Only when the repeated game is nearly over, users will adopt competitive power allocation strategy.

While essentially all the frequency is allocated to different wireless applications, observations provide evidence that usage of the spectrum is actually quite limited. Fortunately, cognitive radio technology offers an attractive solution to the reuse of under-utilized licensed spectrum. Therefore, proper channel selection mechanism and channel quality metric are essential to exploit the benefits of spectrum sharing. We propose a free time ratio (FTR) metric that captures channel quality. In addition, we also propose a distributed collaborative sensing scheme to ensure the robustness of the whole network. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms the existing channel selection methods.

Ferroelectric Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 thin films with thickness of around 800 nm were prepared on LaNiO3 (LNO) buffered SiO2/Si substrates by sol-gel method. The LNO buffer layer serves as the bottom electrode and the template for growing PZT thin films with preferred orientation. The (110)-textured PZT thin films can be obtained on 250 nm-thick LNO buffered SiO2/Si substrates. Upon using the LNO buffer layer, the annealing temperature of the PZT films is lowered to 600degC. Our results indicate that PZT thin films prepared on LNO buffered Si substrates have good structural and dielectric properties for sensor and actuator applications.

A new optical sensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) enhanced Goos-Hanchen(GH) shift is presented. Compared with the traditional SPR techniques, the new method provides higher sensitivity to sensor system. Theoretical simulations show the refractive index (RI) detection sensitivity of the SPR sensor based on the GH shift measurement has a strong dependence on the thickness of the metal film. When the optimal thickness of the metal film is selected, the RI resolution of the SPR sensor is predicted to be 2.2 times 10-7 refractive index units (RIU). Furthermore, it is found that the incidence angle can be used as a parameter to adjust operating range of the sensor to different refractive index ranges.

Network education system (NES) involves different kinds of electronic resources such as e-doc, audio, video, and etc. These resources have a variety of features such as time restriction, concurrency and synchronized integration. This paper gives a detailed analysis on resources used in NES, presents four kinds of usage paradigms, describes the models with Petri nets, and solves a universal synchronization problem while integrating those resources during transfer.
