Abstract

Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is an increasingly popular voltage compensator mainly used for mitigating voltage sags through the series-connected transformer that connects electric distribution system and AC sub-system or load. The high response speed required for voltage compensation makes DC magnetic bias and magnetic saturation apt to occur when series-connected transformer in DVR outputs voltages, which may cause the waveform distortion of output offset voltages, or even worse, the failure to compensate. In consequence, observations and suppression of transformer magnetic saturation and magnetizing inrush current are imperative during voltage compensation. To realize that purpose, this paper proposes a method by which the flux linkage of the transformer that is regarded as a state variable can be directly controlled, and then verifies it through co-simulation by using the software Ansys Simplorer, Matlab and Ansys Maxwell from three parts.

Abstract

With the development and utilization of renewable energy, a large number of distributed power sources are connected to the power distribution network, which has changed the reliability calculation models and methods of the original power distribution network. A reliability calculation method for power distribution system based on Markov model and minimum cut set method is proposed. This method can solve the reliability calculation problem of multi-power network when distributed photovoltaic power are running in grid-connected and islanded operation modes. In this paper, the output model of the photovoltaic output power is established, and the sufficient conversion rate in the island is calculated in combination with the time-varying load model. The Markov process is used to study the impact of the dynamic changes on the system reliability. The simulation analysis in the IEEE-RBTS BUS6 shows that the algorithm can quickly and accurately evaluate the reliability of the power distribution system including distributed photovoltaic power.

Abstract

The application of energy storage is mainly concentrated in several fields, including the access to grid of new energy, ancillary services of peak load regulating and frequency regulation, user side peak cut, demand side response, as well as micro-grid and household energy storage, etc. At present, energy storage is becoming more and more involved in Shanxi market of frequency regulation and flexible grid-connection of new energy, but the relevant intervention mode, incentive mechanism, operation mode and effect evaluation are still in the stage of exploration and demonstration. This article analyses and calculates the energy storage capacity demand in Shanxi power grid from five aspects of power system ACE command response, peak load regulation, frequency regulation, new energy consumption and power control of regional tie line, in order to provide a decision-making reference for the stable, economic and high-quality operation of Shanxi power grid.

Abstract

During the scale expansion of the power quality monitoring network, aiming at the problem of unification in communication protocol of power quality monitor, a consistency test method for communication protocol of power quality monitoring platform is proposed in this paper. The construction of smart grid and digital substation put forward new requirements for power quality monitor. Communication protocol test is particularly important in network monitoring. The communication protocol test is implemented on the power quality monitoring platform based on SISCO mms-ease lite and IEEE P1159.3. It effectively improves the reliability of the power quality monitor.

Abstract

In order to study the static voltage stability(SVS) of distribution network with DFIG and SVC, the static model of DFIG and SVC is analyzed. The voltage stability index(VSI) which can reflect the degree of voltage stability of all load buses is derived in this paper, and DFIG is connected according to the best wind resources. A voltage stability analysis scheme is presented to rapidly rank the voltage stability margin of load buses, and the vulnerable bus is determined as the best locations to install SVCs. The detail of voltage collapse is studied based on the improved continuous power flow(CPFLOW) method. Simulation results show that the strategy releases the reasonable location of SVC, which can optimize the power flow distribution. Moreover, it can further improve the power supporting ability and SVS of distribution network with DFIG, which enables the system to bear severer load increasing.

Abstract

In this paper, a new type of frequency and polarization reconfigurable FSS (Frequency selective surface) is designed. By using liquid crystal material, the frequency of the FSS can be reconfigured. The dipole sub-module is used. The upper and lower dipoles separated by the dielectric substrate are orthogonal to each other. The adjacent short-term dipole passes PIN diodes connected, and the switch of the dipoles controls the polarization selection of FSS in the passband. The experimental results show that the FSS can select the TE and TM waves, and the polarization selection and reconfiguration characteristics are obvious.

Abstract

The ability of the grid-friendly microgrid responding the system operation demand is analyzed by exploiting potentialities of grid operation from the traditional load side. The volatility of DGs output is balanced by including controlling EVs the charging and discharging. The output of microgrid is scalable through coordinating all kinds of DGs based on which a microgrid economic operation model is built. The simulation result shows the microgrid can absorb internal intermittent power and achieve system dispatching well by coordinating kinds of powers. Its dispatching potentiality is sizable.
