This paper proposes a new method combing the Six-phase permanent magnet synchronous generation (PMSG) with 12-pulse series diode rectifier with active harmonic elimination at DC side in order to improve the quality of the ac line currents. The proposed scheme draws nearly sinusoidal currents by controlling the two sets of diode bridge output currents to be triangular and out of phase using the active PWM auxiliary circuit injects directly compensation currents at DC side. The compensation strategy is analyzed. The simulation results demonstrate that the 11th 13th current harmonic in the Six-PMSG stator currents basically are eliminated, with multiply 5th, 7th harmonic content. But the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the Six-PMSG resultant current can be close to 1%.
