17. Performance analysis of Transformer — Less Unified Power Flow Controller

Abstract

The paper presents the simulation of an pioneering and unique method of FACTS controller called Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) without transformer. Transformer-less Unified Power Flow Controller consist of two cascaded multi-level inverter, which lessen the complication and bulkiness of the circuit. Basically traditional UPFC controller consists of two inverters connected back to back. Conventional methods of UPFC involve complex and bulk circuit resulting in the problem for isolation of the transformers & achieve high power rating with desired output. The proposed Transformer less UPFC controller will be cost effective and acquire low space then the conventional UPFC. A multilevel cascade configuration system will reduce the harmonics of the system hence increases the efficiency of the model and reduce bulkiness.

18. Robust Constrained Generalized Correntropy and Maximum Versoria Criterion Adaptive Filters.

Abstract

The constrained least mean square algorithm is extensively used for adaptive filtering applications which need to satisfy a set of linear constraints. However, it is not robust when non-Gaussian or impulsive noise is present at the error sensor. To effectively overcome this issue, in this brief, we propose the constrained generalized maximum correntropy criterion (CGMCC) algorithm. To further improve steady state convergence behavior of the adaptive filter in such scenarios, we also propose the constrained maximum Versoria criterion (CMVC) algorithm. The expressions of the optimal weight vector for both the proposed algorithms are derived. Bound on learning rates are also derived to ensure the stability of the proposed adaptive systems in the mean square sense. The computational expense of the proposed algorithms is also studied. Simulation studies carried out demonstrate the improvement in steady state convergence performance and robustness achieved by the proposed algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

“E-Exam Cell” system is an automated system which is especially designed and developed for the institutions which follows CGPI/SGPI grading pattern. Generation of results, Hall tickets and other activities are manually done which is very tedious and time consuming job which might lead to flaws in the result. Keeping in mind the problems of previous system we came up with “E-Exam Cell” which is an automated system and is very easy to use and saves time. “E-Exam Cell” is a computerized system through which results can be provided smoothly without any error. Online form filling, Revaluation form filling, ATKT form filling and Hall ticket filling can be done by students easily once they are registered as the system is reliable, secure, robust and efficient. Once the student has filled all the details the hall ticket is send to the students registered e-mail where student can print it and come for verification later. If any student has filled revaluation or ATKT form, then notification regarding the same will be provided to them. The main focus of this system is to provide remote access to the users.

24. Realization of 24-Sector SVPWM With New Switching Pattern for Six-Phase Induction Motor Drive.

Abstract

The six-phase asymmetrical induction motors (SPIMs) are employed for high power medium voltage drive due to its attractive features of reduced stator copper loss, lower torque pulsation, higher torque per ampere, and higher reliability. In this paper, analysis of carrier-comparison-based pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques namely sinusoidal PWM and double zero-sequence injection PWM are carried out from a space vector perspective. Furthermore, new space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) techniques are developed by modifying the switching sequences of carrier-based PWM techniques. A comprehensive analysis of these PWM techniques is carried out in terms of harmonic flux trajectories, squared harmonic flux, and harmonic distortion factor (HDF). As a result, modified SVPWM technique namely 6ΦSVM3 is found superior to aforesaid PWM techniques, which significantly reduces HDF and provides lower current total harmonic distortion (THD). The experimental results of aforementioned PWM techniques are obtained and verified from six phase asymmetrical induction motor fed by dual two-level 3ΦVSIs. Abstract

A combination lithography-layer-by-layer (L-LbL) method for the fabrication of nanocomposite multicomponent micropatterns comprised of organic and/or inorganic materials is described. Nanofilm patterns of polymers, proteins, dyes, and/or nanoparticles may be constructed on glass substrates for potential applications in basic cell-material interactions, as well as components of photonics, electronics, and chemical microsystems. Cell-culture work with primary brain cells demonstrates the use of this method towards developing specialized bio-material interfaces.
