Abstract

A 7.5 Gb/s/pin 8-Gb LPDDR5 SDRAM is implemented in a 1 $\times$ nm DRAM process. Various techniques are applied to achieve higher bandwidth and lower power than LPDDR4X. To increase data rate, a WCK clocking scheme that is less vulnerable to power noise is adopted and a non-target ODT mode is proposed to reduce reflection noise in a two-rank system. A couple of techniques are proposed for saving power. To reduce self-refresh power, this chip supports deep sleep mode (DSM). In DSM, the leakage current of internal voltages decreases by disabling internal voltage generators that are not related with a self-refresh operation. Dynamic voltage frequency scaling (DVFS) is adopted to reduce read and write operation power and when writing all zeros data, an internal data copy function can be used for reducing write operation power. Last, a ZQ calibration scheme that shares one ZQ resistor (RZQ) and automatically executes ZQ calibration is presented. The proposed LPDDR5 DRAM operates up to 7.5 Gb/s on an automatic test equipment (ATE) and 6.4 Gb/s on a prototype system. Read and write power decrease by 21% and 33% compared to LPDDR4X at 4.266 Gb/s, and self-refresh power is reduced by 25% in DSM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

15. Feasibility test of tracking control to moving target in dual-state trolley control system.

Abstract

In this paper, the performance of tracking control algorithm to apply to the mobile harbor(MH) crane trolley control system is verified with 1/20 scale experiment. MH is a novel maritime cargo transfer system which is recently proposed by KAIST. A relative motion between MH and container ship is caused by external disturbances such as wave and wind because loading/unloading operation of MH system is performed in open-sea condition. It is necessary to control the position of containers to the target position in this condition accurately. Using dual-stage trolley control system of MH which is proposed to control the position of trolley independently, the receding horizon controller is designed to track the moving target position. Through the 1/20 scale model experiments as the frequency of reference signal is changing, the feasibility of tracking control of MH crane system is checked. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

A robust H\infty sliding mode descriptor observer for simultaneous state and disturbance estimation of uncertain system is developed. Inspired by a singular system theory, a descriptor observer design is presented to estimate some class of output disturbances. 19. A study on stability of passive dynamic walking model with flat feet.

Abstract

Biped robots based on limit cycle walking paradigm commonly need less energy than other models and generate pretty natural gait, since this paradigm has fewer artificial constraints on walking motion compared to other conventional ones. To increase its performance and to realize a practical biped, the model needs further studies on its stability, disturbance rejection capability, and versatility, etc. In this paper, flat feet are added to increase its stability and disturbance rejection capabilities. Although flat feet model have been already studied, their stability properties are not clarified especially in the view of bifurcation route to chaos and global stability. The stability properties of modified feet models are analyzed and its effects are compared to the results of the simplest walking model whose stability properties are already well known.
