Modern multi-element IR arrays rely on the principle of maximum thermal insulation between the sensing element and the substrate with the required technology being complex and expensive. With the increase of array size technological demands regarding the quality of thermal insulation grow significantly. Current paper investigates a potentially beneficial approach to element production of a megapixel IR array element. It excludes the need for thermal insulation of the element and is based on the pyroelectric effect. By the means of a mathematical model, operation features of the proposed element were established. The model was verified experimentally on Sr1-xBaxNb2O6: La (x = 0.5) thin-film element prototypes with a pyroelectric coefficient, $\gamma $ , reaching $1.4\pm 0.1\cdot 10^{-3}$ C/($\text{m}^{2}\cdot \text{K}$). The design of the capacitive motors that are based on the electrostatic rolling of the thin metallic film on the ferroelectric surface is studied. It is shown that this method of energy conversion allows one to move the main stage of electromechanical energy conversion into the nanometer range when using the materials with high dielectric permeability (more than 500). The analysis of the distribution of the forces and field in the nanometer gap of the electrostatic micromotors is carried out. An experimental investigation of these micromotors is performed.
