Abstract

A large number of robots are used in warehouses to automate mundane tasks, reduce operating costs, make warehouses safer and more efficient. However, there is a tradeoff between cost and accuracy of the robot. A costly robot will be more accurate and precise in its working, But it cannot be used at a large scale in MSMEs in developing countries. Using cheap components would result in a lower cost but there will be a dip in accuracy. Having a low cost, fairly accurate robot would help in developing countries in MSMEs. We are building a low cost, autonomous robot that can assist us in transferring goods from one place to another within a storage facility which can also help us account for products. The robot must also be programmable to do multiple tasks if needed. In this work, We give a review of different robots currently being used in warehouses and explain the working of our robot. We also assess the cost and accuracy of our robot and show how it might be suitable for warehouses in developing countries.

Abstract

In this paper, a multiagent clustering-based distributed approach for the optimal planning of wind-distributed generators (DGs) and switched capacitor banks (SCBs) is proposed. First, electrical distance matrices for the power systems are constructed. Additionally, a constrained optimization problem, which includes several indices and a few constraints, for the optimal clustering of distribution networks is formulated and solved. After obtaining optimal clusters, agents are assigned to the clusters, and a second multiobjective optimization problem (MOOP) for the distributed planning of wind DGs and SCBs is formulated and assigned to a head agent. The number of objective functions in the MOOP is equal to the number of agents. The objective function of an agent consists of three indices: annual energy losses, investment costs, and voltage enhancement. Moreover, a deep neural network architecture is designed, and four independent networks are trained with six years of wind speed data for the seasonal wind speed forecasting. Two IEEE unbalanced test feeders, one with 37 nodes and the other with 123 nodes, and eight test cases are considered for simulations. The results show that losses and costs are optimized, and the voltage unbalance of the system is reduced. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Energy storage systems (ESSs) are essential in future power systems because they can improve power usage efficiency. In this paper, a novel coordinated control algorithm is proposed for distributed battery ESSs (BESSs). The neighboring BESSs of a simulation system are grouped and controlled by a main control center. The main control center sends charging or discharging operation signals to each BESS. The primary objective of the proposed coordinated control scheme is to mitigate voltage and frequency deviations. In order to verify the proposed algorithm, the BESSs are connected to a distribution system of the Korea Electric Power Corporation. The results are compared with those obtained using uncoordinated control scheme with on-load tap changer considering aspects of power quality (voltage and frequency variation). The simulation results show that the voltage and frequency deviations are reduced with the proposed coordinated control algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
