Increasing demand for DRAM scaling and high-bandwidth has driven DRAM technology to 3D/2.5D integration. With the innovative Hybrid Bonding technology, a new Stacked Embedded DRAM (SEDRAM) architecture was developed on LPDDR4/4X product. In this SEDRAM, a DRAM array wafer and logic wafer were fabricated separately and then face-to-face fusion connected through ultra-high-density, low-resistance Hybrid Bonding. By separating the control, I/O, DFT and periphery circuits to a logic die, SEDRAM offers a novel approach to DRAM product development and accomplishes an extremely high-bandwidth logic-to-memory interface speed of 34GBps per 1Gb with low power consumption as low as 0.88pJ/bit.

In this paper, a finite element model of a plane hydrophone mounted on a sound barrier plate is established, and the vibration damping performance of the sound barrier plate on the hydrophone is simulated. The influences of different size and different structural sound barriers on the vibration attenuation performance of the hydrophone are discussed. By comparing and analyzing the simulation results of the finite element model of the plane hydrophone mounted on the sound barrier, the influence law of acoustic baffle on the vibration absorption performance of hydrophone is concluded.

Aiming at the problem of insufficient stability and security considerations for multi-microgrid system access distribution network, this paper proposes a multi-microgrid day-ahead scheduling optimization model considering interactive power control. The upper optimization model aims to reduce the interaction power between the microgrid and the distribution network and coordinates the output between the microgrids. The lower optimization model is devoted to solve the economic optimization operation of the multi-microgrid system. The bilateral bidding strategy is adopted to make the microgrid conduct energy trading to reduce the overall cost of the multi-microgrid system and reduce the impact of power fluctuations on the distribution network. The distribution network system with multiple microgrids is used to verify that the optimization model can obtain better output plans for each microgrid. The set trading strategy encourages effectively the mutual energy between the microgrids and reduces the micro-grid’s impact of grid operation on the distribution network.

The emergence of electric vehicles (EVs) promises to yield multiple benefits to both power and transportation industry sectors, but it is also likely to affect the distribution network reliability by consuming massive energy. However, the charging and discharging of EVs at EV charging station (EVCS) must be controlled and scheduled in order to reduce the peak load. This paper considers the problem of ordered charging and discharging of EVs at a single charging station. A scheduling optimization strategy for EVCS is proposed, taking the maximum revenue of EVCS as the optimization objective, and considering the constraints of power demand of owners, charging time, discharging time, and capacity of distribution network. In order to overcome the shortcomings of the fixed time-of-use (TOU) price strategy, the dynamic TOU price is solved by particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm, which regards the price as a variable at each time period of EVCS dispatching cycle. The simulation results show that the proposed method can significantly augment the revenue of EVCS, reduce peak load, fill valley, and meet the needs of EV owners to the greatest extent.

The unique property of three-dimensional (3D) functional porous sponge which shows excellent electrical performance and softness has drawn great attention for developing tactile sensors. A facile fabrication of porous sponge sensors dip-coating polyurethane (PU) sponge with carbon black (CB) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is hereby presented. By leveraging local strain concentration of soft sponge, we design three shapes of PU sponge. The electrical conductivity and sensitivity of the sensor will be influenced by the demonstrated geometry parameters. The developed tactile sensor with geometry effect on sensing characteristics has promising application in human activity monitoring and human-robot interaction.

Teleoperation robot systems have been developed to assist and even replace human in the fields of service, space exploration and medical healthcare. In particular, human-robot interaction stimulates the development of teleoperation robot system, hence, intuitive and effective control interaction remains a significant component within teleoperation system.The robot needs to reflect the real intention of the human during operation, therefore the differences between human and robot requires to be considered appropriately. In this study, we proposed a synchronized human-robot-virtuality interaction system, in which the physical interaction and the virtual interaction are integrated to achieve an intuitive and immersive interaction. The motion data are acquired and transmitted to the virtual environment and the cooperative robot using the motion capture system. The virtual human model and the robot are controlled to follow human motion by the processed data synchronously. Furthermore, during the actual operation, the operator can get feedback through the real-world camera and virtual environment. Real-world cameras provide real-world environment feedback, and virtual environments provide virtual world environment feedback from any perspective. The results of this study show that this interaction system can significantly increase the success rate to 80% and reduce the operation time to about 20 seconds during specified tasks. The synchronized human-robot-virtuality interaction system improves both the efficiency and accuracy of teleoperation tasks.

Evolution of smart sensing technologies provide an increasingly utilization for IoT-enabled healthcare. In the context of the aging population, the demand for elderly-assistant robots is increasing. At the same time, more and more attention has been paid to the more intuitive way of remote human-robot interaction. In this article, we present the design, implementation, and evaluation of a telerobotic-assisted healthcare system with the ability to achieve the remote elderly assistant and healthcare application. In this work, a remote operation interface using wearable inertial motion capture suit is proposed to control the YuMi robot remotely. The motion capture subsystem and the robot control subsystem are all based on robot operation system (ROS) to carry out the distributed design and integration. The robot arm is controlled by the position and orientation data of the operator’s hand acquired by the motion capture suit. Furthermore, the robot’s gripper is controlled by the finger bending signal acquired by a data glove. The achievement and performance of the introduced system was verified by experiments.

In full convolution networks, the intensive prediction results generated by intermediate features have a disadvantage of low contribution rate. This paper used the visualization tools and quantitative analysis, and proposed a new training strategy using dynamic weighting strategy which was verified by experiments. The results show that the strategy can effectively improve the accuracy of prediction intermediate features results.

According to World Health Organization, the number of elderly people will rise rapidly between 2015 and 2050. Rates of physical disability or mobility problems are increasing due to population aging. With the continuous evolution of robotic technology, assistive robot shows great prospect to expand the existing healthcare services to address the above problems. As a result, nursing-care robotic systems are playing more and more important role to the elderly and disabled. In this paper, a sensor glove which is employed for human-robot interaction in an assistive robotic system is designed, produced and evaluated. The sensor glove is based on flex sensors which is utilized to detect user’s finger gestures and inertial measurement unit (IMU) which is used to detect arm movements of the user and other off-the-shelf electronic components. The main goal of this research is to make the interaction between human and assistive robots more intuitive and reliable. This paper mainly deals with three issues: 1) inventing a design pattern of this kind of sensor gloves, 2) performance evaluation of sensor gloves based on flex sensors, and 3) method of analyzing the human-in-the-loop system with the presence of the sensor glove. Our experimental results suggested that by using this design pattern, the sensor glove can be a reliable interface in controlling the assistive robotic system. Besides, our estimation model can be used in analyzing this human-in-the-loop assistive robotic system and able to find suitable parameters of this system theoretically.

Sample preparation is one of those fundamental processes in biochemical reactions. In order to obtain target concentrations properly, raw reactants are processed through a series of dilution operations. Since some rare reactants, such as infant blood or DNA evidence from a crime scene, are extremely difficult to acquire, it is important to minimize their consumption and waste during sample preparation. In this paper, we propose a multitarget sample preparation algorithm for reactant minimization on digital microfluidic biochips. Given a set of target concentrations, the proposed method first converts the reactant minimization problem into a network flow model, and then solves it through integer linear programming (ILP) accordingly. Experimental results demonstrate that our new algorithm can reduce the reactant consumption by up to 31% as compared with the current state-of-the-art.

The Forward Vehicle Start Alarm (FVSA) is a technique for determining whether or not a forward vehicle begins to start when the traffic signal changes from STOP to GO. And it is expected to be one of the important functions of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). In this paper, we implement the FVSA function by using only dashboard camera. We consider the moving edges which are obtained from the frame difference as a key feature to detect the movement of a forward vehicle. We project the moving edges horizontally to find the positions of the dominant edge in the Region of Interest (ROI) and create the edge profile by temporally accumulating them. By examining the change pattern of edge profile, we can successfully track whether the forward vehicle is departing. Through simulation, we confirmed that the proposed method works reliably in various environments and showed that it can solve the typical case of the malfunction in existing commercial ADAS products

The single ball self-balancing mobile robot is a typical multivariable, high-order, nonlinear and static instability system, IMU inertial devices are generally used to obtain attitude parameters of the system. The data errors obtained by the inertial devices will accumulate over time, and the long-term pose estimation is rather unreliable. But for some quick motion over a short period of time, inertial sensors can get very accurate estimates. Monocular cameras are often used as image real-time monitoring sensors by single ball self-balancing mobile robots. The camera's data does not accumulate errors over time, so there is essentially no drift. Therefore, camera pose estimation can effectively correct the inertial sensor error. In a fast-moving environment, the shutter-roller camera cannot capture the image clearly and there may be ghosting or overlapping of two areas too little, resulting in mismatched or unmatched conditions. So that the robot makes a wrong estimate. In this paper, the non-linear optimization method is used to fuse the IMU and monocular attitude data to obtain the optimal pose estimation of the robot. Based on the modeling of robot using Lagrange's equation method, the control of single ball robot is realized by using fuzzy PID algorithm. Experiments show that this scheme can respond quickly to the change of the attitude of the ball self-balancing robot and keep the attitude of the robot relatively stationary, so that the robot can move steadily.
