With the continuous increase of the proportion of new energy power supply, changing of the ways in using power, the rapid development of power grid structures, the increase of important power supply nodes, evaluation by measuring in worksite is not suitable for now. In the same time, there is also an urgently need for new method to assess power quality of new energy power roundly and quickly. This article analyzed several evaluation methods of assessing power quality in used, then we make a deep research about the characteristics in new energy power. At last, we put forward a new power quality synthetical evaluation method called “FIVE A” assessment, which is based on the unique power quality parameters of new energy power. This method is established by five elements, which are: harmonic voltage, harmonic current, voltage change, power change and power prediction, all these elements constitute a new system to evaluate power quality for new energy all sidedly in a short time.
