In this work metaheuristic technique such as modified Hybrid Whale Optimization Algorithm (mWOA) is used for control of speed along with ripple reduction in output torque of 75 KW, 4-phase 8/6 Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive. The objective is to develop a controller for combined goal of speed control and ripple reduction in output torque of SRM. Various performance factors such as gain of proportional controller & integral controller of speed controller as well as of current controller commutation angle values are considered for performance assessment of SRM. A comparison is made of the performance of SRM with implementation of modified Whale Optimization Algorithm (mWOA) & Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). It is seen that coefficient of torque ripple, ISE of current and objective function is reduced by mWOA algorithm as compared to WOA.

The intention of this manuscript is to formulate a GA-PIDC for monitoring the Blood Glucose (BG) in TIDM patients. In this strategy, the conventional PIDC is redesigned by use of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) concept to upgrade the control accomplishment. This article presents a 4×4 antenna array for cloud radio access networks (C-RAN) applications which uses traditional rectangular patches as radiating element. The structure is modeled, designed and simulated using HFSS v 13.0 and validated experimentally. A comparative analysis of series feed and corporate feed antenna array has been reviewed. There after the combination of corporate and series fed technique was used for proposed antenna array design. The physical size of the projected antenna array in terms of guided wavelength is 6.32 λg × 4.47 λg at operating frequency of 10 GHz. The presented antenna array exhibited directivity and peak gain of 23.02 dB and 10.9 dB respectively, which are also considered as advantageous feature over others reported. As the presented antenna array observes 566 MHz of impedance bandwidth at resonance, can be used for C-RAN application, so that more number of signals can be accommodated in a single wireless application.

The aim of this manuscript is to formulate a Genetic Algorithm (GA) based Fractional Order PID Controller (GA-FOPIDC) for monitoring the CP, CV, and AP of an IP under abnormal circumferences. In this methodology, the traditional PID is re-constructed with the fractional order concept to update the control execution. The GA-FOPIDC is a new strategy and its parameters animatedly vary based on the error signal e(t). The approval of the better execution of GA-FOPIDC is built up by relative outcome examination with other existing control techniques. The relative outcomes obviously disclose the superior execution of the recommended strategy to monitor the model dynamics inside a steady range as for the accuracy, stability, and robustness.

The current paper depicts a Moth Swarm Algorithm (MSA) for frequency regulation of Distributed Power Generation System (DPGS) using cascade PI-PD controller. The DGPS includes the renewable power generator such as wind, solar photovoltaic and storage devices like flywheel, battery along with electric vehicles. The suggested cascade PI-PD and PID controller gains are tuned by MSA technique. Here, the mastery of the proposed MSA tuned cascade PI-PD controller over conventional PID controller is established with respect to effectiveness for frequency regulation.

Image Fusion is an application of digital image processing. Image Fusion is a phenomenon of amalgamating the substantial features from similar pair of images into a single image, where the fused image will be of superior quality than either of the source images. This research work proposes a Pixel level Deep learning method using a 3-Channel convolutional neural network to fuse two multi focus Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images obtain a high definition or high quality fused image. As the environment is in static condition and the radar is in floating, the radar imagery sensor captures source image at different time stamps. Size reduction of the image is performed before the fusion procedure in order to highly reduce the computational time and make the method more immune to noise. In the proposed method, source images are decomposed into pixels using the deep learning framework. After feature extraction, appropriate weights are assigned to all pixels. Then averaging and max pooling of pixel values of both the source images are done to get the resultant features of the fused image. Then smoothening filter is used to minimize noise in the fused image. Experimental results show that the proposed fusion technique demonstrates better PSNR value and less computational time.

A study was undertaken in the laboratory of CPRI to understand the detection capability of corona/partial discharges in air and oil medium using opto electronic technique. The experimental investigations were carried out in a high pressure test chamber fitted with high voltage bushing, electrode arrangement with a moving seal, view ports, gas inlets and outlets. PD measuring system consisted of ac high voltage test setup, fluorescent optical fiber, normal optical fiber, fiber adaptor, photomultiplier tube and picoscope for detection of discharges by optical method. Simultaneously the discharges were also detected by electrical method using the conventional system consisting of a high voltage ac source, coupling capacitor cum standard capacitive voltage divider, PD detection unit and test cell. The studies were conducted both in air & oil under uniform and non-uniform electric fields using point plane electrode geometry. The electrode gap distance is varied from 5 mm to 30 mm. The response of different colored fluorescent optical fiber was studied. The results are presented and discussed.

Interconnected power systems require more intelligent and flexible ways to balance and monitor a generation load. Power generated from single source is becoming less reliable and therefore, movement from single energy source to hybrid system has been preferred in recent time. Inclusion of renewable energy sources in automatic generation control (AGC) is a major concern on account of intermittent nature of renewable energy sources. In this work, we intend to study an AGC with diversified renewable energy sources (RES) integrated such as solar and wind in association with thermal reheat system. In the present work an AGC with hybrid thermal-solar and thermal-wind power generation system is simulated. The AGC is studied with traditional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller and Fractional order PID (FOPID) controller. The gains of the FOPID controller are optimized by firefly algorithm (FA) algorithm. Further, the performances of all the controllers have been investigated and compared based on which it is suggested that FA optimized FOPID controller is showing much better performance amongst all other controllers. In addition to that, sensitivity analysis is performed using various loading and parameter variation to access the robustness of the proposed controllers. The study reveals that, the system performance is better using FA optimized FOPID controller with different solar radiation and different wind speed. Finally, to validate the proposed hybrid system the real time hardware in-the loop (HIL) emulation is carried out using Typhoon HIL 402.

With the introduction of Internet of Things (IoT), we are witnessing the greater use of the mobile Internet with the exponential explosion of smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The IoT paradigm is revolutionizing the way we live, work, and communicate. In this context, the availability of a connectivity technology, which is reliable, scalable, and efficient, will play a major role to develop the emerging IoT system. Certainly, the fifth generation (5G) networks are emerging as the key enabler supporting IoT systems. In this paper, we discuss the potential of 5G technologies and architecture for the future IoT systems. We review the main 5G enablers for the IoT systems. Besides, we also extensively discussed the security and privacy aspect of IoT system and the potential research directions.

Due to the enhanced coverage area and better detection performance multistatic radar systems attracted a substantial attention in recent years. Bistatic radar operates with dedicated transmitter or with transmitters of opportunity. But multistatic radar system uses multiple active transmitters at different locations to increase the detection area for target localization. In this paper the optimal geometry of a multistatic radar is analyzed based on the signal to noise ratio and transmitter to target to receiver distance. The detection coverage of monostatic, bistatic and multistatic radar with different antenna placement has been carried out with the Oval of Cassini and its parameters. The performance of coverage area for various are compared for different signal to noise ratio and number of active transceivers has been analyzed.

Present work discusses control of speed of a four phase switched reluctance motor abbreviated as SRM is done by application of optimization techniques. The techniques used are many optimizing liaison technique abbreviated as MOL and gravitational search algorithm abbreviated as GSA. Comparison in the performance of SRM is made using these two technique in accordance to speed control. The control of the complete system is goverened by two control loops for speed control, current control and a controller for controlling the turn on angle with turn off angle of the 75 KW, 4-phase 8/6 SRM. The problem considered here is to obtain the operating parameter for speed controller, current controller with turn on angle, turn off angle values, are regarded as objective problem formulation for best tracking of speed in order to reducing integral square error for speed. The simulation and analysis is accomplished in MATLAB/SIMULINK ambience. The execution evaluation of MOL and GSA is done by evaluating different statistical parameter. By making the comparison in performance using the two optimization technique it is evident ISE of speed decreased significantly by MOL approach.

This paper presents frequency control in a hybrid two-area power system which is a combination of conventional and renewable energy resources (RES). Area-I consists of thermal with solar, while area-II contains thermal integrated with wind energy. As RES are intermittent in nature, load frequency control (LFC) is a challenging issue in hybrid power system where thermal power stabilizes the power management to maintain the system frequency. This paper proposes differential evolution (DE) optimized proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller to achieve frequency control in the hybrid power system. The frequency control study is performed in different configurations of power system simulated using LabVIEW software. The efficacy of the proposed controller is also investigated using the performance indices such as deviation in frequency, integral time absolute error (ITAE), peak over/under shoots and settling time. Based on the on the simulation study, it is observed that DE optimized PID controller perform better in comparison to that of the conventional PI, PID controllers.

The joint time frequency representation characterize a signal over a time frequency domain simultaneously. The combination yields a potentially more revealing representation of the temporal localization of a signal's spectral components. So the time frequency representation offers an effective tool for analyzing the time varying property of the target echo. In this paper the time frequency analysis of a large time bandwidth product signal formed by combining the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing and the linear frequency modulated (OFDM-LFM) is discussed using the linear and quadratic time frequency distributions like short time Fourier transform, wavelet transform and Winger-Ville distribution. A concise review of the problem of spectrum estimation and various time frequency methods are discussed as the back ground of the study. The performance of the various time frequency representations are analyzed through simulations. The results clearly demonstrate the significant improvements in the time frequency analysis of the signal in a scenario of low signal to noise condition.

Due to the static nature of the environment, the wireless sensor nodes receives different source images at different time interval. The captured images at the source may be noisy, incomplete and redundant. Using image fusion techniques a clear and confined image may approximated to the source image can be obtained. In this paper, an efficient approach for fusion of multi-focus images based on variance calculated in DCT domain is presented. Due to simplicity of our proposed method, it can be easily used in real-time applications. The experimental results verify the efficiency improvement of our method both in output quality and complexity reduction in comparison with several recent proposed techniques.

This paper introduces the study of Load Frequency Control (LFC) in multi area power system network by the help of Integral Double Derivative with Filter (IDDF) controller. The main aim of LFC is to reduce the steady state error to zero in each area. In this proposed system three equal area interconnected power system is simulated and compared with three different controllers such as: PI, PID and IDDF controller. A maiden attempt has been done using IDDF controller. Here IDDF controller is proposed for improving the system response and oscillation. The result shows the performance of AGC using reheat-turbine and Generation rate Constraints (GRC). The LFC model is designed using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.

In this world of multimedia confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of images are the basic requirements. A new algorithm of cryptanalysis for RGB images is proposed in this paper, where a combination of hill cipher and chaotic logistic maps is done to increase the security of images. The algorithm is framed for the whole range to select keys for cryptanalysis of RGB images. Computer simulation has been done with three standard images and achieved outcomes have been validated to examine the capability of the proposed technique. Essential examination such as key space, key sensitivity, NPCR, UACI, MSE and PSNR have been done. The outcomes of several research and computer simulation verify that the proposed algorithm is suitable for pragmatic image encryption and offers high security.
