16. Reliability Analysis of Cognitive Radio Networks With Reserved Spectrum for 6G-IoT.

Abstract

Cognitive radio networks (CRNs) can facilitate ultra-reliable communication among IoT devices in the 6G environment by enhancing channel availability (CA) for primary and secondary users. However, CA does not necessarily lead to successful connection establishment unless receiver’s accessibility (RA) is guaranteed. This motivates us to propose the notion of connection availability (CoA) that incorporates RA into CA. We also introduce the idea of service maintainability (SM) that includes the effect of RA in service retainability. Additionally, spectrum utilization efficiency (SUE) is expressed and analyzed with and without considering the impact of RA. For performance evaluation, a channel reservation algorithm with customizable configurations is proposed. Furthermore, an analytical model is used to investigate the network performance for all key performance indicators (KPIs) under multiple channel failures and PU arrival rates and determine valuable tradeoffs among KPIs. 31. Screening Pipeline for Flavivirus Based Inhibitors for Zika Virus NS1.

Abstract

In-silico pipeline is applied for identifying and designing novel inhibitors against ZIKV NS1 protein. Comparative molecular docking studies are performed to explore the binding of structurally diverse compounds to ZIKV NS1 by AutoDock/Vina and GOLD. The Zika virus (ZIKV) is a flavivirus, responsible for life-threatening infections and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes in other organisms. It is associated with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) and microcephaly. This epidemic increase in GBS and microcephaly convoyed the World Health Organization to affirm ZIKV a public health crisis. To combat the ZIKV infections, non-structural protein 1 (NS1), a major host-interaction molecule contributing towards replication, pathogenesis and immune evasion is targeted in the current study. For this purpose, a comprehensive study is required to develop potential novel antiviral inhibitors. Three compounds were identified through docking programs exhibiting properties which are non-toxic to human host and could inhibit the elusive ZIKV. Significant interaction with active site residues and H-bond interactions with the key residues were analyzed for these compounds using molecular dynamics simulation. Free energy calculation predicted higher affinity of Deoxycalyxin-A for ZIKV NS1. 32. Analysis of Interference Management in Heterogeneous Cellular Networks in the Presence of Wideband Jammers.

Abstract

In heterogeneous cellular networks, small base stations (SBSs) in the coverage area of macro base station (MBS) cause significant inter-cell-interference (ICI). Intentional jamming interference (JI), caused by wideband jammers (WBJs), further worsens the uplink (UL) communications in the MBS coverage edge area. This letter investigates uniform and clustered WBJs’ deployment scenarios, denoted by C1 and C2, respectively. We employ decoupled association (DeCA) and reverse frequency allocation (RFA) to mitigate both JI and ICI. Results indicate that C2 is more disruptive than C1, and that a significant UL coverage improvement can be achieved by using DeCA along with RFA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

33. Outage Probability Analysis of User-Centric SBS-Based HCNets Under Hybrid Rician/Rayleigh Fading.

Abstract

To model dense user equipment (UE) distribution in heterogeneous cellular networks (HCNets), the Poisson cluster process (PCP) has emerged as a promising tool. In user-centric HCNets where UEs are distributed according to a PCP around a small base station (SBS), the network performance has been commonly studied in literature under a Rayleigh fading environment assumption. However, such an assumption may not hold in user-centric HCNets given the possible existence of a strong line-of-sight (LOS) link between UEs and BSs due to a relatively short transmission distance. This letter analyzes the performance of user-centric SBS based HCNets by considering that the desired LOS link experiences Rician fading whereas interferer links experience non-LOS Rayleigh fading. Numerical results, validated through extensive simulations, demonstrate that the outage probability decreases under this hybrid Rician/Rayleigh fading environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
