Background. Ovarian cancer was one of the gynecological malignant tumors. Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (SMB) was a kind of herbal medicine with an antitumor effect. However, the inhibitory effect of SMB on ovarian cancer and its potential mechanism were still unclear. Objective. The antitumor effect of SMB on ovarian cancer was studied by network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques, and its possible molecular mechanisms were analyzed. Method. The active ingredients of SMB and the target data of ovarian cancer were obtained from the Traditional Chinese Medicines for Systems Pharmacology Database (TCMSP) and the GeneCards database. The relationship between active ingredients of SMB and ovarian cancer targets was analyzed by String database, David 6.8 online database, and Cytoscape 3.7.2 software, and then potential pathways were screened out. In addition, molecular docking technology was used to verify further the binding effect of antiovarian cancer pathway targets with active ingredients of SMB. Finally, survival analysis was performed for all potential targets. Results. We analyzed 71 SMB–ovarian cancer common targets, and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis showed that the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway might be an essential pathway for SMB to inhibit ovarian cancer. Luteolin, Tanshinone IIA, and Cryptotanshinone in SMB might play an important role. HSP90AA1, CDK2, and PIK3CG might be potential targets of SMB in inhibiting ovarian cancer. Conclusion. Through network pharmacology and molecular docking analysis, we found that SMB might partially inhibit ovarian cancer by the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. We believe that SMB might be a potential therapeutic agent for ovarian cancer patients.

In recent years, the use of long short-term memory (LSTM) has made significant contributions to various fields and the use of intelligent optimization algorithms combined with LSTM is also one of the best ways to improve model shortcomings and increase classification accuracy. Reservoir identification is a key and difficult point in the process of logging, so using LSTM to identify the reservoir is very important. To improve the logging reservoir identification accuracy of LSTM, an improved equalization optimizer algorithm (TAFEO) is proposed in this paper to optimize the number of neurons and various parameters of LSTM. The TAFEO algorithm mainly employs tent chaotic mapping to enhance the population diversity of the algorithm, convergence factor is introduced to better balance the local and global search, and then, a premature disturbance strategy is employed to overcome the shortcomings of local minima. The optimization performance of the TAFEO algorithm is tested with 16 benchmark test functions and Wilcoxon rank-sum test for optimization results. The improved algorithm is superior to many intelligent optimization algorithms in accuracy and convergence speed and has good robustness. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve is used to evaluate the performance of the optimized LSTM model. Through the simulation and comparison of UCI datasets, the results show that the performance of the LSTM model based on TAFEO has been significantly improved, and the maximum area under the ROC curve value can get 99.43%. In practical logging applications, LSTM based on an equalization optimizer is effective in well-logging reservoir identification, the highest recognition accuracy can get 95.01%, and the accuracy of reservoir identification is better than other existing identification methods.

Objective. To explore the inhibitor effects and mechanism of lncRNA 93358 against the apoptosis of myocardial cells in rats with myocardial infarction. Methods. The myocardial infarction model was established in rats, which were identified by cardiac ultrasound. TTC staining was used to evaluate the degree of heart infarction, and HE staining was utilized to determine the pathological state in myocardial tissues. The apoptotic state in myocardial tissues was confirmed by TUNEL assay. lncRNA 93358 was screened out using a high-throughput sequencing which was confirmed by RT-qPCR. The interaction between miR-466c-3p and SLC8A1 was identified using the dual-luciferase reporter assay. The expression level of Bax, Bcl-2, and SLC8A1 was determined in lncRNA 93358 knockdown cells using RT-qPCR and Western blotting Results. Massive myocardial necrosis was observed in model rats according to the results of TTC staining, HE staining, and TUNEL assay. lncRNA 93358 and Bax were found significantly upregulated, and Bcl-2 and SLC8A1 were greatly downregulated in model rats, which were dramatically reversed by the knockdown of lncRNA 93358, accompanied by the decline area of myocardial necrosis and decreased apoptotic myocardial cells. Conclusion. Silencing lncRNA 93358 inhibits the apoptosis of myocardial cells in rats with myocardial infarction by inducing the expression of SLC8A1.

This letter presents a mixed strategy to design broadband high-efficiency power amplifiers (PAs), where the mixed continuous mode PA provide theoretical impedances. Furthermore, only a single one-stage coupler circuit with appropriate terminals is exploited to satisfy the fundamental and second harmonic impedances requirements necessary for mixed continuous mode PA realization. Combination of mixed modes PAs' desired impedances and the coupler's impedance frequency modulation trajectory, the available design frequency band can be determined. For validation, a broadband high-efficiency PA covering the frequency range 0.4–3.0 GHz is designed and then fabricated using a CGH40010F transistor. Measured results indicate that the implemented PA can deliver saturated output power of 40.2–42.7 dBm across the frequency range 0.4–3.0 GHz, with drain efficiency of between 60.4% and 74.5%.

Genetically human apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε32 is associated with a decreased risk of ischemic heart disease. ApoE deficiency in mice impairs infarct healing after myocardial infarction (MI). After the ischemic injury, a large number of neutrophils are firstly recruited into the infarct zone and then degrade dead material and promote reparative phase transformation. The role of ApoE in inflammation response in the early stage of MI remains largely unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of ApoE deficiency on neutrophils’ function and myocardial injury after myocardial infarction. By left coronary artery ligation in ApoE-/- and wild-type (WT) mice, we observed increased infarct size and neutrophil infiltration in ApoE-/- mice. Within the infarct zone, more neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) were observed in ApoE-/- mice, while increased ex vivo NET formation was detected in ApoE-/- mouse-derived neutrophils through the NADPH oxidase-ROS-dependent pathway. Suppressing overproduced NETs reduced myocardial injury in ApoE-/- mice after ligation. In general, our findings reveal a critical role of apolipoprotein E in regulating Ly6G+ neutrophil activation and NET formation, resulting in limiting myocardial injury after myocardial infarction. In such a process, apolipoprotein E regulates NET formation via the ROS-MAPK-MSK1 pathway.

Aims. Previous studies have demonstrated epidemiological evidence for an association between cancer and the development of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF). However, these results have been conflicting. This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between cancer and the risk of developing atrial fibrillation. Methods. PubMed and Web of Science were searched for publications examining the association between cancer and atrial fibrillation risk published until June 2017. Adjusted odds ratios (ORs) or hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CI were extracted and pooled. Results. A total of five studies involving 5,889,234 subjects were included in this meta-analysis. Solid cancer patients are at higher risk developing atrial fibrillation compared to noncancer patients (OR 1.47, 95% CI 1.31 to 1.66, p<0.00001; I2 = 67%, p=0.02). The risk of atrial fibrillation was highest within 90 days of cancer diagnosis (OR 7.62, 95% CI 3.08 to 18.88, p<0.00001) and this risk diminished with time. Conclusions. The risk of AF was highest within 90 days of cancer diagnosis. We should take into account the increased risk of atrial fibrillation development and, after this, study the embolic risk and potential indication of oral anticoagulation.

Objective. To investigate the association between early perihematomal edema (PHE) expansion and functional outcome in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Methods. Patients with ICH who underwent initial computed tomography (CT) scans within 6 hours after the onset of symptoms and follow-up CT scans within 24 ± 12 hours were included. Absolute PHE increase was defined as the absolute increase in PHE volume from baseline to 24 hours. A receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve was generated to determine the cutoff value for early PHE expansion, which was operationally defined as an absolute increase in PHE volume of >6 mL. The outcome of interest was 3-month poor outcome defined as modified Rankin scale score of ≥4. A multivariable logistic regression procedure was used to assess the association between early PHE expansion and outcome after ICH. Results. In 233 patients with ICH, 89 (38.2%) patients had poor outcome at 3-month follow-up. Early PHE expansion was observed in 56 of 233 (24.0%) patients. Patients with early PHE expansion were more likely to have poor functional outcome than those without (43.8% vs. 11.8%, p < 0.001 ). After adjusting for age, admission systolic blood pressure, admission Glasgow Coma Scale score, baseline ICH volume and the presence of intraventricular hemorrhage, and time from onset to CT, early PHE expansion was associated with poor outcome (adjusted odds ratio, 4.25; 95% confidence interval, 1.70–10.60; p = 0.002 ). Conclusions. The early PHE expansion was not uncommon in patients with ICH and was correlated with poor outcome following ICH.

A large-scale persistent strong dense fog (SDF) event that occurred from December 30, 2016, to January 5, 2017, in central and eastern China is analyzed by using a variety of data, including high-resolution satellite and surface observations, meteorological tower observations, fine-resolution sounding observations, and NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data. The results show the following: (1) The SDF event has the characteristics of long duration, wide influence range, large intensity, and serious air pollution. During the study period, there are 531 stations with SDF events, covering an area of over 360,000 km2. There were five stations in Hebei province where the fog lasted for more than 77 hours, and even some stations did not dissipate during the day. (2) Radiation fog and advection fog alternate in this SDF event, namely, radiation fog (20:00 BT on December 30 to 14:00 on January 1), advection radiation fog (20:00 on January 1 to 08:00 on January 2), radiation fog (night on January 2 to daytime on January 3), and advection radiation fog (night on January 3 to January 5). The characteristic of radiation fog is that the central and eastern part of China was controlled by “L” type high pressure. In the stage of advection radiation fog, the combined effect of weak cold advection and radiation cooling leads to the occurrence of SDF. (3) Regarding the duration of the fog event, the inversion structure is continuously maintained at night and in the morning near the stratum, and when the fog intensity is strong, the inversion intensity is correspondingly large, the fog top is lower than the inversion layer top, and the top of the SDF is between 80 and 400 meters.

This article presents a novel efficiency‐enhanced Doherty power amplifier (DPA) by using a Chireix‐like compensation technique. This technique introduces a compensation circuit structure at the combiner to offset the phase difference effect of a DPA for enhancing drain efficiency. A DPA based on the proposed structure is fabricated with two 10 W GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) transistors. The fabricated DPA with such proposed compensation structure manifests a measured saturated output power of 43.5 dBm and drain efficiency of 68% to 71% in the frequency range of 3.2 to 3.7 GHz. Forty‐five percent of drain efficiency can be achieved at 6 dB power back‐off. And the adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) is better than −48.6 dBc with digital predistortion.

With the high mortality rate, coronary heart disease (CHD) has currently become a major life-threatening disease. The main pathological change of myocardial infarction (MI) is the induction of myocardial necrosis in infarction area which finally causes heart failure. Conventional treatments cannot regenerate the functional cell efficiently. Recent researches suggest that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are able to differentiate into multiple lineages, including cardiomyocyte-like cells in vitro and in vivo, and they have been used for the treatment of MI to repair the injured myocardium and improve cardiac function. In this review, we will focus on the recent progress on MSCs derived cardiomyocytes for cardiac regeneration after MI.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) repair infarcted heart through paracrine mechanism. We sought to compare the effectiveness of MSCs and MSC-derived exosomes (MSC-Exo) in repairing infarcted hearts and to identify how MSC-Exo mediated cardiac repair is regulated. In a rat myocardial infarction model, we found that MSC-Exo inhibited cardiac fibrosis, inflammation, and improved cardiac function. The beneficial effects of MSC-Exo were significantly superior compared to that of MSCs. To explore the potential mechanisms underlying MSC-Exo’s effects, we performed several in vitro experiments and miRNA-sequence analysis. MSC-Exo stimulated cardiomyocyte H9C2 cell proliferation, inhibited apoptosis induced by H2O2, and inhibited TGF-β induced transformation of fibroblast cell into myofibroblast. Importantly, novel miRNA sequencing results indicated that MSC-Exo and MSCs have similar miRNA expression profile, which could be one of the reasons that MSC-Exo can replace MSCs for cardiac repair. In addition, the expression of several miRNAs from MSC-Exo was significantly different from that of MSCs, which may explain why MSC-Exo has better therapeutic effect than MSCs. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that MSC-Exo could be used alone to promote cardiac repair and are superior to MSCs in repairing injured myocardium.

Aims:We examined whether the use of a renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAS) inhibitor plays a role in protecting against left atrial appendage thrombus (LAAT) in patients with hypertension complicated by atrial fibrillation (AF).Methods:Two observational studies were conducted on patients with diagnoses of hypertension and AF, who were categorized into RAS inhibitor user or nonuser groups. Demographic characteristics, clinical characteristics, echocardiographic parameters and hemostatic markers were examined and the occurrence of LAAT during follow-up were recorded.Results:In the first study ( n = 131), LA peak systolic strain and LAA emptying flow velocity (LAA eV) were significantly increased in patients on RAS inhibitors compared with the nonuser group ( p < 0.05). Lower D-dimer and fibrinogen levels were observed in patients on RAS inhibitors ( p < 0.05). In the second study ( n = 99), 25.9% ( n = 11) of patients on RAS inhibitors developed LAAT, compared with 46.7% ( n = 21) in the nonuser group ( p < 0.05). After controlling for risk factors related to LAAT, use of RAS inhibitors remained associated with a significantly lower risk of developing LAAT (HR, 0.406; 95% CI, 0.191–0.862; p = 0.019).Conclusions:RAS inhibitors use was associated with a significant reduction in the risk of LAAT in patients with hypertension and AF.

Blue toe syndrome caused by cholesterol emboli is a relatively benign disease. However, disseminated cholesterol embolism is a life-threatening condition. We describe here the case of a 71-year-old female admitted because of anterior chest pain and intermittent claudication. Following cardiac catheterization, warfarin potassium was administered. However, the patient's toes soon darkened bilaterally, and BUN and creatinine levels increased from the normal value. Skin discoloration and renal failure were improved after stopping warfarin potassium administration. The patient underwent coronary artery bypass grafting and left femoropopliteal bypass. Cerebral infarction and renal failure occurred postoperatively due to disseminated cholesterol embolism. The patient died from renal failure on the 16th postoperative day without regaining consciousness following surgery. For high risk patients, interventional procedures to the ascending aorta must be avoided. When CABG cannot be avoided for coronary revascularization, off-pump bypass and use of arterial grafts are recommended.
