This paper introduces an innovative approach, Deep Multiscale Soft-Threshold Support Vector Data Description (DMS-SVDD), designed for the detection of anomalies and prediction of faults in heavy-duty gas turbine generator sets (GENSETs). The model combines a support vector data description (SVDD) with a deep autoencoder backbone network framework, integrating a multiscale convolutional neural network (M) and soft-threshold activation network (S) into the Deep-SVDD framework. In comparison with conventional methods, such as One-Class Support Vector Machine (OCSVM) and autoencoder (AE), DMS-SVDD demonstrates improvements in accuracy (by 22.94%), recall (by 32%), F1 score (by 12.02%), and smoothness (by 39.15%). The model excels particularly in feature extraction, denoising, and early fault detection, offering a proactive strategy for maintenance. Furthermore, the DMS-SVDD demonstrated enhanced training efficiency with a reduction in the convergence rounds by 66% and overall training times by 34.13%. The study concludes that DMS-SVDD presents a robust and efficient solution for gas turbine anomaly detection, with practical advantages for decision support in turbine maintenance. The widespread integration of renewable energy sources (RESs) into power systems using power electronics-based interface devices has led to a substantial rise in power quality (PQ) issues. There is an immediate requirement for effective monitoring, detection, and classification of power quality disturbances (PQDs) that is needed to take remedial measures and design planning of the system architecture. This study presents a hybrid approach with an objective for the feature extraction and classification of PQDs. The proposed hybrid approach is comprised of an optimized tunable-Q wavelet transform (OTQWT) for the feature extraction and incremental support vector machine (ISVM). A four-stage approach is suggested for the PQ detection and classification in this study. In the first stage, the various data are retrieved both in the form of synthetic data by mathematical formulations and real-time data with prototype design setup. In the second stage, regardless of the specified wavelet function, the PQD signals are decomposed into low-pass and high-pass sub-bands using the tunable-Q wavelet transform (TQWT). However, the utilization of default decomposition parameters to address nonstationary PQ signals may lead to information loss and reduced performance of the system. To avoid this limitation, an OTQWT as an enhanced technique to TQWT based on an Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) is suggested. A modified objective function based on the mean square error (MSE) is used to improve the decomposition process. In the third stage, an efficient classifier is suggested based on the ISVM. Lastly, to test and evaluate the performance of the proposed approach, twelve types of PQDs including noise and multiple occurrences are considered. The electroencephalogram (EEG) examination provides information on the brain's electricity, especially in cases of epilepsy. Since the characteristics of EEG signals are nonlinear and nonstationary, visual inspection becomes very difficult. To overcome this problem, digital EEG signal processing was developed. Automatic epileptic EEG recognition is an area of interest on which much research focuses. The complexity approach to EEG signal analysis is interesting to be used as feature extraction, referring to the nonlinear characteristics of the signal. This study proposed an automatic epileptic EEG classification method based on the multiscale Hjorth descriptor measurement. EEG signals consisting of normal, interictal, and seizure (ictal) were simulated. The signal is scaled into new signals using the coarse-grained procedure on a scale of 1–20. Then, the Hjorth parameter which consists of activity, mobility, and complexity is calculated on the new signal. This process produces a feature vector that is used in the classification stage. Support vector machine (SVM) is used to evaluate the proposed feature extraction method. Simulation results showed that the Hjorth parameter on a scale of 1–15 yields 99.5% accuracy. Bearings are critical components in modern manufacturing, yet they are prone to failures in induction machines. Detecting these faults early can reduce repair costs. To achieve efficient and accurate fault detection, we explore vibration-based analysis. Traditional methods rely on manual feature extraction, which is time-consuming. In contrast, our work leverages deep learning, particularly convolutional neural networks, to automatically extract fault features from raw data. We investigate various image sizes (16 × 16, 32 × 32, 64 × 64, 128 × 128, 256 × 256) and their performance in bearing fault diagnosis. Our convolutional neural networks-based approach is compared to traditional methods such as support vector machine, nearest neighbors, and artificial neural networks. In the process of multiscale network traffic prediction using a single model, the results are often single, resulting in a decline in the accuracy of multiscale network traffic prediction. In order to solve this problem effectively, a mathematical modeling method of multiscale network traffic combination prediction based on fuzzy SVM is proposed. Firstly, according to the multiscale network approximation signal, the multiscale network traffic feature function is constructed to complete the multiscale network traffic feature extraction. Secondly, according to the feature extraction results, the fuzzy membership function is introduced into the SVM, and the fuzzy SVM is used to classify the multiscale network traffic. Finally, based on the traffic classification results, the combination prediction of multiscale network traffic is completed by combining the grey Verhulst prediction model with the GNN model. The experimental results show that the prediction accuracy of this method for multiscale network traffic is higher, and the prediction accuracy can always maintain above 95%, and the MSE and MAE values are relatively low. Social media platforms play a key role in fostering the outreach of extremism by influencing the views, opinions, and perceptions of people. These platforms are increasingly exploited by extremist elements for spreading propaganda, radicalizing, and recruiting youth. Hence, research on extremism detection on social media platforms is essential to curb its influence and ill effects. A study of existing literature on extremism detection reveals that it is restricted to a specific ideology, binary classification with limited insights on extremism text, and manual data validation methods to check data quality. In existing research studies, researchers have used datasets limited to a single ideology. As a result, they face serious issues such as class imbalance, limited insights with class labels, and a lack of automated data validation methods. A major contribution of this work is a balanced extremism text dataset, versatile with multiple ideologies verified by robust data validation methods for classifying extremism text into popular extremism types such as propaganda, radicalization, and recruitment. The presented extremism text dataset is a generalization of multiple ideologies such as the standard ISIS dataset, GAB White Supremacist dataset, and recent Twitter tweets on ISIS and white supremacist ideology. The dataset is analyzed to extract features for the three focused classes in extremism with TF-IDF unigram, bigrams, and trigrams features. Additionally, pretrained word2vec features are used for semantic analysis. The extracted features in the proposed dataset are evaluated using machine learning classification algorithms such as multinomial Naïve Bayes, support vector machine, random forest, and XGBoost algorithms. The best results were achieved by support vector machine using the TF-IDF unigram model confirming 0.67 F1 score. In the present scenario like COVID-19 pandemic, to maintain physical distance, the gait-based biometric is a must. Human gait identification is a very difficult process, but it is a suitable distance biometric that also gives good results at low resolution conditions even with face features that are not clear. This study describes the construction of a smart carpet that measures ground response force (GRF) and spatio-temporal gait parameters (STGP) using a polymer optical fiber sensor (POFS). The suggested carpet contains two light detection units for acquiring signals. Each unit obtains response from 10 nearby sensors. There are 20 intensity deviation sensors on a fiber. Light-emitting diodes (LED) are triggered successively, using the multiplexing approach that is being employed. Multiplexing is dependent on coupling among the LED and POFS sections. Results of walking experiments performed on the smart carpet suggested that certain parameters, including step length, stride length, cadence, and stance time, might be used to estimate the GRF and STGP. The results enable the detection of gait, including the swing phase, stance, stance length, and double supporting periods. The suggested carpet is dependable, reasonably priced equipment for gait acquisition in a variety of applications. Using the sensor data, gait recognition is performed using genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique. GA- and PSO-based gait template analyses are performed to extract the features with respect to the gait signals obtained from polymer optical gait sensors (POGS). The techniques used for classification of the obtained signals are random forest (RF) and support vector machine (SVM). Motivation. Immunoglobulin proteins (IGP) (also called antibodies) are glycoproteins that act as B-cell receptors against external or internal antigens like viruses and bacteria. IGPs play a significant role in diverse cellular processes ranging from adhesion to cell recognition. IGP identifications via the in-silico approach are faster and more cost-effective than wet-lab technological methods. Methods. In this study, we developed an intelligent theoretical deep learning framework, "IGPred-HDnet" for the discrimination of IGPs and non-IGPs. Three types of promising descriptors are feature extraction based on graphical and statistical features (FEGS), amphiphilic pseudo-amino acid composition (Amp-PseAAC), and dipeptide composition (DPC) to extract the graphical, physicochemical, and sequential features. Next, the extracted attributes are evaluated through machine learning, i.e., decision tree (DT), support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbour (KNN), and hierarchical deep network (HDnet) classifiers. The proposed predictor IGPred-HDnet was trained and tested using a 10-fold cross-validation and independent test. Results and Conclusion. The success rates in terms of accuracy (ACC) and Matthew's correlation coefficient (MCC) of IGPred-HDnet on training and independent dataset (Dtrain Dtest) are ACC = 98.00%, 99.10%, and MCC = 0.958, and 0.980 points, respectively. The empirical outcomes demonstrate that the IGPred-HDnet model efficacy on both datasets using the novel FEGS feature and HDnet algorithm achieved superior predictions to other existing computational models. Epilepsy is a common electrophysiological disorder of the brain, detected mainly by electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. Since correctly diagnosing epilepsy seizures by monitoring the EEG signal is very tedious and time-consuming for a neurologist, a growing number of studies have been conducted on developing automated epileptic seizure detection (AESD). In this work, a novel supervised model is proposed for AESD. Initially, the EEG signals are collected from Bonn University EEG (BU-EEG) database. Then, empirical mode decomposition and feature extraction (combination of entropy, frequency, and statistical features) are applied to extract the features. Furthermore, Siamese network is utilized to lessen the number of extracted features and obtain the most discriminative features. Then, these features are exploited to classify seizure and non-seizure EEG signals by using a support vector machine classifier. This paper examines the Siamese network's contribution as a learning-based feature transformation in improving seizure detection performance. The numerical results confirm that the proposed framework can achieve a perfect classification performance (100 % accuracy). Diabetic retinopathy is an eye-related pathology creating abnormalities and causing visual impairment, proper treatment of which requires identifying irregularities. This research uses a hemorrhage detection method and compares the classification of conventional and deep features. Especially, the method identifies hemorrhage connected with blood vessels or residing at the retinal border and was reported challenging. Initially, adaptive brightness adjustment and contrast enhancement rectify degraded images. Prospective locations of hemorrhages are estimated by a Gaussian matched filter, entropy thresholding, and morphological operation. Hemorrhages are segmented by a novel technique based on the regional variance of intensities. Features are then extracted by conventional methods and deep models for training support vector machines and the results are evaluated. After cataract, glaucoma is one of the second leading retinal diseases in the world. This paper presents the methodology to detect the glaucoma using principal component analysis. The images are involved in dilation as a preprocessing, enhancement using the contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization method, and followed by the extraction of features using principal component analysis. The extracted features are classified using support vector machine, Naive Bayes, and K-nearest neighbor classifiers. Damage induced by a low-velocity impact can reduce the stability and reliability of structures. In this study, a novel low-velocity impact region identification method based on the spectral peak frequency (SPF) and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed to identify the low-velocity impact regions on a steel cantilever beam. A low-velocity impact region identification system of the cantilever beam is established by applying fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, and only 2 sensors are used in this system. The power spectral density functions of the impact response signal are smoothed using the linear weighting method to remove pseudospectral peak frequencies, and then, SPFs are extracted as the features. For 25 low-velocity impact regions with dimensions of 30 mm × 10 mm, the results show that the recognition rate obtained by the proposed method is 100% and the feature vector consisting of the first two SPFs with the largest amplitude has the highest recognition rate. Through the comparative study, it is found that the recognition rate of SVM is higher than that of the probabilistic neural network (PNN) and extreme learning machine (ELM) for low-velocity impact area recognition of cantilever beams. Assessment of attention is of great importance as one of human cognitive abilities. Although neuropsychological tests have been developed and used to evaluate the ability to pay attention, their validity and reliability have been reduced due to some limitations such as the presence of intervention factors, including human factors, limited range of languages, and cultural influences. Therefore, direct outputs of the brain system, represented by event-related potentials (ERPs), and the analysis of its function in cognitive activities have become very important as a complementary tool to assess various types of attention. This research tries to assess 4 types of attention including sustained, alternative, selective, and divided, using an integrated visual-auditory test and brain signals simultaneously. Thus, the electroencephalogram (EEG) data were recorded using 19 channels, and the integrated visual and auditory (IVA-AE) test was simultaneously performed on twenty-eight healthy volunteers including 22 male and 6 female subjects with the average age of 27 ± 5.3 years. Then ERPs related to auditory and visual stimuli with synchronous averaging technique were extracted. A topographic brain mapping (topo-map) was plotted for each frame of stimulation. Next, an optical flow method was implemented on different topo-maps to obtain motion vectors from one map to another. After obtaining the overall brain graph of an individual, some features were extracted and used as measures of local and global connectivity. The extracted features were consequently evaluated along with the parameters of the IVA test by support vector machine regression (SVM-R). The volume of attention was then quantified by combining the IVA parameters. Ultimately, estimation accuracy of each type of attention including focused attention (86.1%), sustained attention (83.4%), selective attention (80.9%), and divided attention (79.9%) was obtained. Schizophrenia (SZ) is a severe and prolonged disorder of the human brain where people interpret reality in an abnormal way. Traditional methods of SZ detection are based on handcrafted feature extraction methods (manual process), which are tedious and unsophisticated, and also limited in their ability to balance efficiency and accuracy. To solve this issue, this study designed a deep learning-based feature extraction scheme involving the GoogLeNet model called "SchizoGoogLeNet" that can efficiently and automatically distinguish schizophrenic patients from healthy control (HC) subjects using electroencephalogram (EEG) signals with improved performance. The proposed framework involves multiple stages of EEG data processing. First, this study employs the average filtering method to remove noise and artifacts from the raw EEG signals to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. After that, a GoogLeNet model is designed to discover significant hidden features from denoised signals to identify schizophrenic patients from HC subjects. Finally, the obtained deep feature set is evaluated by the GoogleNet classifier and also some renowned machine learning classifiers to find a sustainable classification method for the obtained deep feature set. Experimental results show that the proposed deep feature extraction model with a support vector machine performs the best, producing a 99.02% correct classification rate for SZ, with an overall accuracy of 98.84%. Furthermore, our proposed model outperforms other existing methods. In wide-area distributed scenarios, it is particularly important to carry out information security situational awareness for the air traffic management (ATM) system with integrated air-ground structure. The operation data of the communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) equipment of ATM system have the characteristics of multi-dimension, complexity, and strong correlation. In the process of situation awareness feature extraction, there are problems such as poor model accuracy, weak feature expression ability, and low classification performance. A feature association algorithm is designed to solve the above problems. Based on this algorithm, a deep-related sparse autoencoder (DRSAE) model based on improved sparse autoencoder is established. In DRSAE model, L1 regularization and Kullback–Leibler divergence (KLD) sparsity terms are used to penalize the parameters of the encoder network, and the quantity of hidden layers is increased to allow the model to optimize the global encoder network by iteratively training a single encoder. Moreover, the proposed DRSAE model and other feature extraction models such as principal component analysis (PCA), autoencoder (AE), and sparse autoencoder (SAE) are compared and evaluated by using the support vector machine (SVM) classifier. Compared with other feature extraction models, it is found that the proposed DRSAE model has good robustness in feature extraction of ATM system, and the obtained features have strong expression ability, which enhances the classification performance of the model and is convenient for situation awareness. Bearing fault is a process of gradual development and deepening. In the early stage of the fault, if it can be found out in time and taken reasonable prevention and elimination measures, we can avoid serious losses and safety accidents. Therefore, the feature extraction and analysis of early weak fault has important practical significance. In this paper, an improved multiscale permutation entropy (IMPE) method was proposed to overcome the shortcomings in the coarse-grained process. In order to solve the problem that only considering a single coarse-grained sequence under a certain scale may lead to the loss of feature information, this paper proposed to calculate the time series with equal overlapping segments, that was to consider all coarse-grained sequences under the same scale to reflect the feature information of fault signals more comprehensively. In order to solve the problem that feature extraction is not refined enough when using the first-order moment mean value calculation in traditional MPE calculation, a calculation method based on the skewness of the third-order moment was proposed. The calculation method is more sensitive to the complexity and fluctuation of signals and can better describe the feature details and extract the fault features effectively. IMPE was applied to feature extraction of early weak fault of rolling bearing and input into Support Vector Machines (SVMs) for faults classification. Aiming at SVM parameter optimization problem, an improved chaos firefly optimization algorithm was proposed. Background. Korotkoff sound (KS) is an important indicator of hypertension when monitoring blood pressure. However, its utility in noninvasive diagnosis of Chronic heart failure (CHF) has rarely been studied. Purpose. In this study, we proposed a method for signal denoising, segmentation, and feature extraction for KS, and a Bayesian optimization-based support vector machine algorithm for KS classification. Methods. The acquired KS signal was resampled and denoised to extract 19 energy features, 12 statistical features, 2 entropy features, and 13 Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient (MFCCs) features. A controlled trial based on the VALSAVA maneuver was carried out to investigate the relationship between cardiac function and KS. To classify these feature sets, the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), decision tree (DT), Naive Bayes (NB), ensemble (EM) classifiers, and the proposed BO-SVM were employed and evaluated using the accuracy (Acc), sensitivity (Se), specificity (Sp), Precision (Ps), and F1 score (F1). Results. The ALSAVA maneuver indicated that the KS signal could play an important role in the diagnosis of CHF. Through comparative experiments, it was shown that the best performance of the classifier was obtained by BO-SVM, with Acc (85.0%), Se (85.3%), and Sp (84.6%). Conclusions. In this study, a method for noise reduction, segmentation, and classification of KS was established. In the measured data set, our method performed well in terms of classification accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity. In light of this, we believed that the methods described in this paper can be applied to the early, noninvasive detection of heart disease as well as a supplementary monitoring technique for the prognosis of patients with CHF. Background. To construct and validate a radiomic-based model for estimating axillary lymph node (ALN) metastasis in patients with breast cancer by dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). Methods. In this retrospective study, a radiomic-based model was established in a training cohort of 236 patients with breast cancer. Radiomic features were extracted from breast DCE-MRI scans. A method named the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was applied to select radiomic features based on highly reproducible features. A radiomic signature was built by a support vector machine (SVM). Multivariate logistic regression analysis was adopted to establish a clinical characteristic-based model. The performance of models was analysed through discrimination ability and clinical benefits. Results. The radiomic signature comprised 6 features related to ALN metastasis and showed significant differences between the patients with ALN metastasis and without ALN metastasis (P < 0.001). The area under the curve (AUC) of the radiomic model was 0.990 and 0.858, respectively, in the training and validation sets. The clinical feature-based model, including MRI-reported status and palpability, performed slightly worse, with an AUC of 0.784 in the training cohort and 0.789 in the validation cohort. The radiomic signature was confirmed to provide more clinical benefits by decision curve analysis. Conclusions. The radiomic-based model developed in this study can successfully diagnose the status of lymph nodes in patients with breast cancer, which may reduce unnecessary invasive clinical operations. Corn has great importance in terms of production in the field of agriculture and animal feed. Obtaining pure corn seeds in corn production is quite significant for seed quality. For this reason, the distinction of corn seeds that have numerous varieties plays an essential role in marketing. This study was conducted with 14,469 images of BT6470, Calipso, Es_Armandi, and Hiva types of corn licensed by BIOTEK. The classification of images was carried out in three stages. At the first stage, deep feature extraction of the four types of corn images was performed with the pretrained CNN model SqueezeNet 1000 deep features were obtained for each image. In the second stage, in order to reduce these features obtained from deep feature extraction with SqueezeNet, separate feature selection processes were performed with the Bat Optimization (BA), Whale Optimization (WOA), and Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithms among optimization algorithms. Finally, in the last stage, the features obtained from the first and second stages were classified by using the machine learning methods Decision Tree (DT), Naive Bayes (NB), multi-class Support Vector Machine (mSVM), k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Neural Network (NN). In the classification processes of the features obtained in the first stage, the mSVM model has achieved the highest classification success with 89.40%. In the second stage, as a result of the classifications performed through the active features selected by using three types of feature selection algorithms (BA, WOA, GWO), the classification success obtained with the mSVM model was 88.82%, 88.72%, and 88.95%, respectively. The classification accuracies of the tested methods and the classification accuracies obtained in the first stage are close to each other in terms of classification success. However, with the algorithms used in feature selection, successful classification processes have been carried out with fewer features and in a shorter time. The results of the study, in which classification was carried out in the inexpensive, the objective, and the shorter time of processing for the corn types, present a different perspective in terms of classification performance. Online teaching has the advantages of not being limited by location and space but it also has some shortcomings. The lack of face-to-face real-time interaction between teachers and students will affect some students' learning mood. The improved support vector machine (SVM) model is a simple model based on linear algebra, which can convert text data into structured data that can be processed by a computer and then calculate the similarity between two documents into the similarity between two vectors. The facial expression features of learners in the situation collected and extracted by the students of this project group are analyzed and modeled, and the time consumption, occupied space, and classification effect of the feature vectors produced by the improved model are integrated. The original feature dimension can be optimized from 100 dimensions to 60 dimensions, which not only saves the time of training feature vectors but also reduces the size of the final feature vectors. Besides, on the basis of 60-dimensional preliminary features extracted by SVM model, four classification models can also achieve the best results. Therefore, in the optimization part of feature extraction, the dimension of initial features extracted by SVM model is set to 60 dimensions. We can gradually use the improved SVM model to analyze the emotional influencing factors and optimization strategies in online teaching, so as to keep abreast of students' lectures and let more students participate in online teaching as much as possible. When a brain-computer interface (BCI) is designed, high classification accuracy is difficult to obtain for motor imagery (MI) electroencephalogram (EEG) signals in view of their relatively low signal-to-noise ratio. In this paper, a fused multidimensional classification method based on extreme tree feature selection (FMCM-ETFS) is proposed for discerning motor imagery EEG tasks. First, the EEG signal was filtered by a Butterworth filter for preprocessing. Second, C3, C4, and CZ channels were selected to extract time-frequency domain and spatial domain features using autoregressive (AR), common spatial pattern (CSP), and discrete wavelet transform (DWT). The extracted features were fused for a further feature elimination. Then, the features were selected using three feature selection methods: recursive feature elimination (RFE), principal component analysis method (PCA), and extreme trees (ET). The selected feature vectors were classified using support vector machines (SVM). Finally, a total of twelve subjects' EEG data from Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT data), the 2nd BCI competition in 2003, and the 4th BCI competition in 2008 were employed to show the effectiveness of this proposed FMCM-ETFS method. In recent years, agricultural image processing research has been a key emphasis. Image processing techniques are used by computers to analyze images. New advancements in image capture and data processing have simplified the resolution of a wide range of agricultural concerns. Crop disease classification and identification are crucial for the agricultural industry's technical and commercial well-being. In agriculture, image processing begins with a digital color picture of a diseased leaf. Plant health and disease detection must be monitored on a regular basis in property agriculture. In order to reduce false positives of Trojan horse detection algorithms in smartphones, a voting algorithm based on multiple machine learning algorithms in wireless sensor networks was proposed. Through setting up the experiment, the preliminary preparations of the experiment, including sample set selection, feature set extraction method, and algorithm effect evaluation criteria, were described first. The K-nearest neighbors algorithm, random forests algorithm, support vector machine, and voting algorithm were compared. The experimental results showed that SVM and KNN algorithms took the shortest time, about 0.3 seconds. Judging by the test results, the voting algorithm still performed the best among the four algorithms as the voting algorithm was an extension of the three machine learning algorithms. In these randomly selected samples, malicious programs and nonmalicious programs were successfully distinguished by the voting algorithm. As the amount of test data increased, the test results would be closer to the actual situation. Namely, the voting algorithm would also have a small probability of false positives, which could meet the design requirements of the system. In this paper, an autonomous brain tumor segmentation and detection model is developed utilizing a convolutional neural network technique that included a local binary pattern and a multilayered support vector machine. The detection and classification of brain tumors are a key feature in order to aid physicians; an intelligent system must be designed with less manual work and more automated operations in mind. The collected images are then processed using image filtering techniques, followed by image intensity normalization, before proceeding to the patch extraction stage, which results in patch extracted images. During feature extraction, the RGB image is converted to a binary image by grayscale conversion via the colormap process, and this process is then completed by the local binary pattern (LBP). To extract feature information, a convolutional network can be utilized, while to detect objects, a multilayered support vector machine (ML-SVM) can be employed. A semantic ontology-driven hierarchical consistency segmentation algorithm was proposed to solve the segmentation inconsistency of animation character models because of the changing of poses. The mapping between semantic labels and local geometric features was extracted to form a segmentation ontology. In the process of segmentation, support vector machine (SVM) and local geometric features were used to identify the semantic labels, and segmentation was carried out according to the semantic label driving hierarchy to ensure the consistency of the segmentation levels of animation character models. Poisson equation was used to define contour lines for the equal perimeters of segmentation boundary because of the changing of poses. This optimization method made the segmentation boundary smooth and consistent under the changing of poses. In the experiment part, all kinds of animation character models under different poses were verified and analyzed, and the consistent hierarchical segmentation effect was obtained. A sports-assisted education method based on a support vector machine (SVM) is proposed to address the problem of complex and variable sports actions leading to easy ghosting of target detection and high dimensionality of feature extraction, which reduces the low accuracy of sports action recognition. The ViBe target detection algorithm is improved by using Wronskian function and the "4-linked algorithm" seed filling algorithm, which effectively solves the ghosting problem and obtains clearer human sports targets. By using the genetic algorithm to fuse the eight-star model with sports action features extracted by the Zernike moment, redundant features are reduced and differentiability between different classes is ensured. Sports action classification was achieved by using a one-to-one construction of an SVM classifier. The results show that the proposed method can effectively recognize sports movements with an average recognition accuracy of more than 96%, which can assist physical education and has a certain practical application value. Objectives. This study is aimed at determining whether CT-based radiomics models can help differentiate renal angiomyolipomas with minimal fat (AMLmf) from other solid renal tumors. Methods. This retrospective study included 58 patients with a postoperative pathologically confirmed AMLmf (observation group) and 140 patients with other common renal tumors (control group). Non-contrast-enhanced CT and contrast-enhanced CT data were evaluated. Radiomics features were extracted from manually delineated volume of interest (VOIs). The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression was used for feature screening. Five classifiers, including logistic regression, multilayer perceptron (MLP), support vector machine (SVM), k -nearest neighbor (KNN), and logistic regression (LR), were used, with leave-out validation (128 training, 60 testing). The diagnostic performance of the classifier was evaluated and compared by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis. Results. Among the 1029 extracted features, prediction models of AMLmf were composed, by 2, 10, 4, and 9 selected features for precontrast phase (PCP), corticomedullary phase (CMP), nephrographic phase (NP), and excretory phase (EP), respectively. Models of CMP and NP achieved adequate performance after using MLP classifier, with prediction accuracy of 0.767 (AUC 0.85, sensitivity 0.76, and specificity 0.78) and 0.783 (AUC 0.83, sensitivity 0.79, and specificity 0.78), respectively. MLP model of features selected from the combination of the all features had the best diagnostic performance (accuracy 0.8500, sensitivity 0.8095, specificity 0.9444, and AUC 0.9193). Conclusions. Acoustic fault diagnosis technology equipment is non-contact, and the acoustic signal is easy to access. However, it is difficult to extract the feature information of the acoustic signal with low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this paper, a fault diagnosis model (FDM) of axle box bearing based on Chirplet transform (CT) and support vector machine (SVM) is established to diagnose bearing fault based on acoustic signal. The availability of the model is verified by comparing with the vibration acceleration signal bearing fault diagnosis results, and the correctness of the model is verified by utilizing the open database of Western Reserve University. The acoustic-vibration comprehensive bearing fault diagnosis experiment platform (AVEP) is established to investigate the acoustic signal and acceleration signal diagnosis accuracy. The results suggest that, based on the FDM, the diagnosis accuracy and stability of acoustic signal are not as good as acceleration signal when the number of samples is small under the single condition; the diagnosis accuracy of acoustic signal is similar to that of acceleration signal when the number of samples is enough under the multiple condition, which provides a reference for the application of acoustic fault diagnosis technology in engineering in the future. Microalgae are present at all levels of nutrients and food networks, so in aquatic environments they are an important part of the food chain of aquatic organisms, which also play an important role as biological purifiers of water resources and regulation. They also affect the pH of the environment; also plants are the only organisms capable of synthesizing long-chain fatty acids. Therefore, microalgae are the supplier and primary source of unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) for all organisms present in the food chain of the aquatic environment. It should be noted that many microalgae are also biological indicators of water and reflect the ecological status of the environment. Precise classification of microalgae is related to the human observation capability. The present study proposes a new optimized classification technique with higher accuracy to provide a computer-aided classification of the microalgae. The method begins with an image segmentation to determine the region of interest. The segmentation part has been optimized by a new metaheuristic to provide higher accuracy. Then, the features have been extracted and fed to a Support Vector Machine (SVM) for final classification. The comparison results of the proposed method with some other methods show that the proposed method with 0.828 Kappa, and 0.342 and 0.855 min and max value of F1, provides the highest accuracy compared to the others. Objective. Early diagnosis of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) and targeted treatment can block the process of the disease. This study explores the diagnostic value of CT radiomics combined with clinical features in allergic ABPA. Methods. A total of 40 patients with ABPA were studied retrospectively, divided into training set (n = 28) and test set (n = 12). Based on CT imaging, the radiomics features are extracted and combined with clinical features to build a diagnostic model. The diagnosis model was based on support vector machine algorithm. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) and area under the curve (AUC) were used to evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of the model. Results. There was no significant difference in general information and clinical data between the training and test sets (P > 0.05). The AUC of the training set and the test set is 0.896 (95% CI: 0.836-0.963) and 0.886 (95% CI: 0.821-0.952), respectively. Conclusion. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an accurate and noninvasive method employed for the diagnosis of various kinds of diseases in medical imaging. Most of the existing systems showed significant performances on small MRI datasets, while their performances decrease against large MRI datasets. Hence, the goal was to design an efficient and robust classification system that sustains a high recognition rate against large MRI dataset. Accordingly, in this study, we have proposed the usage of a novel feature extraction technique that has the ability to extract and select the prominent feature from MRI image. The proposed algorithm selects the best features from the MRI images of various diseases. Further, this approach discriminates various classes based on recursive values such as partial Z-value. The proposed approach only extracts a minor feature set through, respectively, forward and backward recursion models. The most interrelated features are nominated in the forward regression model that depends on the values of partial Z-test, while the minimum interrelated features are diminished from the corresponding feature space under the presence of the backward model. In both cases, the values of Z-test are estimated through the defined labels of the diseases. The proposed model is efficiently looking the localized features, which is one of the benefits of this method. After extracting and selecting the best features, the model is trained by utilizing support vector machine (SVM) to provide the predicted labels to the corresponding MRI images. To show the significance of the proposed model, we utilized a publicly available standard dataset such as Harvard Medical School and Open Access Series of Imaging Studies (OASIS), which contains 24 various brain diseases including normal. In order to track the limb movement trajectory of gymnasts, a method based on MEMS inertial sensor is proposed. The system mainly collects the acceleration and angular velocity data of 11 positions during gymnastics by constructing sensor network. Based on the two kinds of preprocessed data, the parameters such as sample mean, standard deviation, information entropy, and mean square error are calculated as classification features, the support vector machine (SVM) classification model is established, and the movements of six kinds of gymnastics are effectively recognized. The experimental results show that when the human body is doing gymnastics, the measured three-axis acceleration values are between -0.5 g~2.2 g, -1 g~2.8 g, and -1.8 g~1 g, respectively, and the static error range accounts for only 1.6%~2% of the actual measured data range. Therefore, it is considered that such static error has little effect on the accuracy of data feature extraction and action recognition, which can be ignored. Early diagnosis of failures can prevent financial losses and industry downtime. In this article, the author proposes an early fault diagnosis technique for rotor-bearing faults. The proposed technique is based on the recognition of sound signals. The author measured and analyzed the three states of the rotor-bearing system: the rotor-bearing system under normal operating conditions, the rotor-bearing system with faulty bearings, and the rotor-bearing system with rotor friction. In this article, an original feature extraction method is described, namely, the 1/3 doubling method (a method of selecting the amplitude of the frequency ratio that is a multiple of 30% of the maximum amplitude). This method is used to form feature vectors. A classification of the obtained vectors was performed by the KNN (K-nearest neighbor classifier), the SVM (support vector machine), and the decision tree. The method is also compared with the Fourier synchrosqueezed transform. The experimental results show that the method can diagnose early faults of rotor-bearing systems simply and quickly and can be used to protect the safe operation of mechanical equipment. Countries around the world are facing so many challenges to slow down the spread of the current SARS-CoV-2 virus. Vaccination is an effective way to combat this virus and prevent its spreading among individuals. Currently, there are more than 50 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidates in trials; only a few of them are already in use. The primary objective of this study is to analyse the public awareness and opinion toward the vaccination process and to develop a model that predicts the awareness and acceptability of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in Saudi Arabia by analysing a dataset of Arabic tweets related to vaccination. Therefore, several machine learning models such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes (NB), and Logistic Regression (LR), sideways with the N-gram and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) techniques for feature extraction and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model used with word embedding. LR with unigram feature extraction has achieved the best accuracy, recall, and F1 score with scores of 0.76, 0.69, and 0.72, respectively. However, the best precision value of 0.80 was achieved using SVM with unigram and NB with bigram TF-IDF. However, the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model outperformed the other models with an accuracy of 0.95, a precision of 0.96, a recall of 0.95, and an F1 score of 0.95. This model will help in gaining a complete idea of how receptive people are to the vaccine. Emotion recognition is a challenging problem in Brain-Computer Interaction (BCI). Electroencephalogram (EEG) gives unique information about brain activities that are created due to emotional stimuli. This is one of the most substantial advantages of brain signals in comparison to facial expression, tone of voice, or speech in emotion recognition tasks. However, the lack of EEG data and high dimensional EEG recordings lead to difficulties in building effective classifiers with high accuracy. In this study, data augmentation and feature extraction techniques are proposed to solve the lack of data problem and high dimensionality of data, respectively. In this study, the proposed method is based on deep generative models and a data augmentation strategy called Conditional Wasserstein GAN (CWGAN), which is applied to the extracted features to regenerate additional EEG features. DEAP dataset is used to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Finally, a standard support vector machine and a deep neural network with different tunes were implemented to build effective models. Experimental results show that using the additional augmented data enhances the performance of EEG-based emotion recognition models. In the process of wireless communication, the transmission of signals will be subject to various kinds of interference, which will affect the quality of communication. Interference detection is an important part of improving the reliability of communication. When the interfering signal has the same frequency as the original communication signal, with traditional methods, it is difficult to extract feature parameters. Aiming at this special cofrequency interference signal, this paper proposes a time series signal prediction model based on deep learning and uses the difference between the predicted signal and the received signal as the eigenvalue to detect interference. In order to improve the detection rate, the eigenvalues predicted by LSTM and Bi-LSTM networks are subjected to windowing experiments. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to detect the interference of eigenvalues, and the comparison results are visualized by the confusion matrix. The experimental simulation results show that the Bi-LSTM model has better feature extraction ability for time series signals, and the prediction ability of the signal and the accuracy of interference detection are higher than those of the LSTM model. Objective. Early diagnosis and treatment of occupational pneumoconiosis can delay the development of the disease. This study is aimed at investigating the intelligent diagnosis of occupational pneumoconiosis by wavelet transform-derived entropy. Method. From June 2013 to June 2020, the high KV digital radiographs (DR) and computed tomography (CT) images from a total of 60 patients with occupational pneumoconiosis in our department were selected. The wavelet transform-derived texture features were extracted from all images, and the decision tree was used for feature selection. The support vector machines (SVM) with three kernel functions were selected to classify the two kinds of images, and their diagnostic efficiency was compared. Result. After eight times of wavelet decomposition, eight wavelet entropy texture features (feature set) were extracted, and six were selected to form the feature subset. The classification effect of linear kernel function SVM is better than those of other functions, with an accuracy of 84.2%. The diagnostic values of DR and CT for occupational pneumoconiosis were the same (kappa = 0.737 , P < 0.001). The detection rate of CT for stage I of occupational pneumoconiosis was significantly higher than that of DR (P = 0.031). Conclusion. When convolutional neural network (CNN) applications have different tasks in the source domain and target domain, but both have labels, it is easy to ignore the difference between the source domain and target domain by using the current traditional method, and the recognition effect of image features is not ideal. This paper proposes a deep migration learning method based on improved ResNet based on existing research to avoid this problem. This method extracts high-order statistical features of images by increasing the number of network layers for classification when performing model transfer learning. The ImageNet dataset is used as the source domain, and a Deep Residual Network (DRN) is used for model transfer based on homogeneous data. Firstly, the ResNet model is pretrained. Then, the last fully connected layer of the source model is modified, and the final deep model is constructed by fine-tuning the network by adding an adjustment module. The impact of content differences between datasets on recognizing transfer learning features is reduced through model transfer and deep feature extraction. The deep transfer learning methods after improving ResNet are compared through experiments. The identification algorithm is based on Support Vector Machine (SVM), the deep transfer learning method on Visual Geometry Group (VGG)-19, and the deep transfer learning method based on Inception-V3. Four experiments are performed on MNIST and CIFAR-10 datasets. By analyzing the experimental data, ResNet's improved deep transfer learning method achieves 97.98% and 90.45% accuracy on the MNIST and CIFAR-10 datasets, and 95.33% and 85.07% on the test set. The accuracy and recognition accuracy on the training and test sets have been improved to a certain extent. COVID-19 is one of the deadliest viruses, which has killed millions of people around the world to this date. The reason for peoples' death is not only linked to its infection but also to peoples' mental states and sentiments triggered by the fear of the virus. People's sentiments, which are predominantly available in the form of posts/tweets on social media, can be interpreted using two kinds of information: syntactical and semantic. Herein, we propose to analyze peoples' sentiment using both kinds of information (syntactical and semantic) on the COVID-19-related twitter dataset available in the Nepali language. For this, we, first, use two widely used text representation methods: TF-IDF and FastText and then combine them to achieve the hybrid features to capture the highly discriminating features. Second, we implement nine widely used machine learning classifiers (Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Trees, Random Forest, Extreme Tree classifier, AdaBoost, and Multilayer Perceptron), based on the three feature representation methods: TF-IDF, FastText, and Hybrid. To evaluate our methods, we use a publicly available Nepali-COVID-19 tweets dataset, NepCov19Tweets, which consists of Nepali tweets categorized into three classes (Positive, Negative, and Neutral). The evaluation results on the NepCOV19Tweets show that the hybrid feature extraction method not only outperforms the other two individual feature extraction methods while using nine different machine learning algorithms but also provides excellent performance when compared with the state-of-the-art methods. The prediction of audit opinions of listed companies plays a significant role in the security market risk prevention. By introducing machine learning methods, many innovations can be implemented to improve audit quality, lift audit efficiency, and cultivate the keen insight of auditors. However, in a realistic environment, category imbalance and critical feature selection exist in the prediction model of company audit opinions. This paper firstly combines batched sparse principal component analysis (BSPCA) with kernel fuzzy clustering algorithm (KFCM) and proposes a sparse-kernel fuzzy clustering undersampling method (S-KFCM) to deal with the imbalance of sample categories. This method adopts the kernel fuzzy clustering algorithm to down-sample the normal samples, and their features are extracted from abnormal sample sets based on the group sparse component method. The sparse normal sample set can maintain the original distribution space structure and highlight the classification boundary samples. Secondly, considering the company's characteristic attributes and data sources, 448 original variables are grouped, and then BSPCA is used for feature screening. Aiming at the feature extraction of left- and right-hand movement imagination EEG signals, this paper proposes a multichannel correlation analysis method and employs the Directed Transfer Function (DTF) to identify the connectivity between different channels of EEG signals, construct a brain network, and extract the characteristics of the network information flow. Since the network information flow identified by DTF can also reflect indirect connectivity of the EEG signal networks, the newly extracted DTF features are incorporated into the traditional AR model parameter features and extend the scope of feature sets. Classifications are carried out through the Support Vector Machine (SVM). The classification results show the enlarged feature set can significantly improve the classification accuracy of the left- and right-hand motor imagery EEG signals compared to the traditional AR feature set. Finally, the EEG signals of 2 channels, 10 channels, and 32 channels were selected for comparing their different effects of classifications. A wormhole attack is a type of attack on the network layer that reflects routing protocols. The classification is performed with several methods of machine learning consisting of K -nearest neighbor (KNN), support vector machine (SVM), decision tree (DT), linear discrimination analysis (LDA), naive Bayes (NB), and convolutional neural network (CNN). Moreover, we used nodes' properties for feature extraction, especially nodes' speed, in the MANET. We have collected 3997 distinct (normal 3781 and malicious 216) samples that comprise normal and malicious nodes. The classification results show that the accuracy of the KNN, SVM, DT, LDA, NB, and CNN methods are 97.1%, 98.2%, 98.9%, 95.2%, 94.7%, and 96.4%, respectively. Feature extraction and selection are important parts of motor imagery electroencephalogram (EEG) decoding and have always been the focus and difficulty of brain-computer interface (BCI) system research. In order to improve the accuracy of EEG decoding and reduce model training time, new feature extraction and selection methods are proposed in this paper. First, a new spatial-frequency feature extraction method is proposed. The original EEG signal is preprocessed, and then the common spatial pattern (CSP) is used for spatial filtering and dimensionality reduction. Finally, the filter bank method is used to decompose the spatially filtered signals into multiple frequency subbands, and the logarithmic band power feature of each frequency subband is extracted. Second, to select the subject-specific spatial-frequency features, a hybrid feature selection method based on the Fisher score and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed. The Fisher score of each feature is calculated, then a series of threshold parameters are set to generate different feature subsets, and finally, SVM and cross-validation are used to select the optimal feature subset. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated using two sets of publicly available BCI competition data and a set of self-collected data. The total average accuracy of the three data sets achieved by the proposed method is 82.39%, which is 2.99% higher than the CSP method. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a better classification effect than the existing methods, and at the same time, feature extraction and feature selection time also have greater advantages. Existing plant leaf disease detection approaches are based on features of extracting algorithms. These algorithms have some limits in feature selection for the diseased portion, but they can be used in conjunction with other image processing methods. Diseases of a plant can be classified from their symptoms. We proposed a cucumber leaf recognition approach, consisting of five steps: preprocessing, normalization, features extraction, features fusion, and classification. Otsu's thresholding is implemented in preprocessing and Tan–Triggs normalization is applied for normalizing the dataset. During the features extraction step, texture and shape features are extracted. In addition, increasing the instances improves some characteristics. Through a principal component analysis approach, serial feature fusion is employed to provide a feature score. Bone cancer is considered a serious health problem, and, in many cases, it causes patient death. The X-ray, MRI, or CT-scan image is used by doctors to identify bone cancer. The manual process is time-consuming and required expertise in that field. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automated system to classify and identify the cancerous bone and the healthy bone. The texture of a cancer bone is different compared to a healthy bone in the affected region. But in the dataset, several images of cancer and healthy bone are having similar morphological characteristics. This makes it difficult to categorize them. To tackle this problem, we first find the best suitable edge detection algorithm after that two feature sets one with hog and another without hog are prepared. To test the efficiency of these feature sets, two machine learning models, support vector machine (SVM) and the Random forest, are utilized. The features set with hog perform considerably better on these models. Also, the SVM model trained with hog feature set provides an F 1 -score of 0.92 better than Random forest F 1 -score 0.77. Mechanical equipment is a key component of mechanical equipment, and its working condition is directly related to the overall performance of mechanical equipment. Accurate evaluation and prediction of the performance degradation trend of mechanical equipment is of great significance to ensure the reliability and safety of the mechanical equipment system. Based on the data of typical faulty equipment, this paper analyzes the energy characteristic parameters of mechanical equipment under different types and degrees of failure in the time domain. Using amplitude spectrum analysis, Hilbert envelope demodulation and wavelet packet decomposition method, and other vibration signal processing methods, preliminary extraction of multiple statistical feature parameters are given. Secondly, in view of the irrelevant and redundant components of multiple statistical parameters, a new method for extracting fault features of mechanical equipment based on variance value and principal component analysis is proposed. This method can effectively classify the fault status of mechanical equipment. The effectiveness of the method is verified by actual equipment signals. After that, the value extracted from the vibration signal of the double-row roller equipment is used as the degradation feature. In order to reduce the influence of irregular characteristics in the vibration signal and simplify the complexity of the vibration signal, the wavelet transform and the support vector machine model are combined, according to the degradation after decomposition. The 95% confidence interval of the predicted value is also given. The SVM model is established based on data characteristics, and single-step and multistep prediction of equipment degradation trends are carried out. The prediction result shows that, according to the mapping position formula, the distribution of equipment degradation prediction points is obtained, and a 95% confidence interval based on the distribution of the prediction points is given. Finally, on the basis of completing feature extraction, this paper applies an unsupervised feature selection method. Traffic accidents are easily caused by tired driving. If the fatigue state of the driver can be identified in time and a corresponding early warning can be provided, then the occurrence of traffic accidents could be avoided to a large extent. At present, the recognition of fatigue driving states is mostly based on recognition accuracy. Fatigue state is currently recognized by combining different features, such as facial expressions, electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, yawning, and the percentage of eyelid closure over the pupil over time (PERCLoS). The combination of these features increases the recognition time and lacks real-time performance. In addition, some features will increase error in the recognition result, such as yawning frequently with the onset of a cold or frequent blinking with dry eyes. On the premise of ensuring the recognition accuracy and improving the realistic feasibility and real-time recognition performance of fatigue driving states, a fast support vector machine (FSVM) algorithm based on EEGs and electrooculograms (EOGs) is proposed to recognize fatigue driving states. First, the collected EEG and EOG modal data are preprocessed. Second, multiple features are extracted from the preprocessed EEGs and EOGs. Finally, FSVM is used to classify and recognize the data features to obtain the recognition result of the fatigue state. Based on the recognition results, this paper designs a fatigue driving early warning system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. When the driver shows symptoms of fatigue, the system not only sends a warning signal to the driver but also informs other nearby vehicles using this system through IoT technology and manages the operation background. New vulnerabilities and ever-evolving network attacks pose great threats to today's cyberspace security. Anomaly detection in network traffic is a promising and effective technique to enhance network security. In addition to traditional statistical analysis and rule-based detection techniques, machine learning models are introduced for intelligent detection of abnormal traffic data. In this paper, a novel model named SVM-C is proposed for the anomaly detection in network traffic. The URLs in the network traffic log are transformed into feature vectors via statistical laws and linear projection. The obtained feature vectors are fed into a support vector machine (SVM) classifier and classified as normal or abnormal. Based on the idea of SVM and clustering, we construct an optimization model to train the parameters of the feature extraction method and traffic classifier. Gait recognition-based person identification is an emerging trend in visual surveillance due to its uniqueness and adaptability to low-resolution video. Existing gait feature extraction techniques such as gait silhouette and Gait Energy Image rely on the human body's shape. The shape of the human body varies according to the subject's clothing and carrying conditions. The clothing choice changes every day and results in higher intraclass variance and lower interclass variance. Thus, gait verification and gait recognition are required for person identification. Moreover, clothing choices are highly influenced by the subject's cultural background, and publicly available gait datasets lack the representation of South Asian Native clothing for gait recognition. We propose a Dynamic Gait Features extraction technique that preserves the spatiotemporal gait pattern with motion estimation. The Dynamic Gait Features under different Use Cases of clothing and carrying conditions are adaptable for gait verification and recognition. The Cross-Correlation score of Dynamic Gait Features resolves the problem of Gait verification. The standard deviation of Cross-Correlation Score lies in the range of 0.12 to 0.2 and reflects a strong correlation in Dynamic Gait Features of the same class. We achieved 98.5% accuracy on Support Vector Machine based gait recognition. Additionally, we develop a multiappearance-based gait dataset that captures the effects of South Asian Native Clothing (SACV-Gait dataset). We evaluated our work on CASIA-B, OUISIR-B, TUM-IITKGP, and SACV-Gait datasets and achieved an accuracy of 98%, 100%, 97.1%, and 98.8%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
