This research is chiefly concerned with the stability and Hopf bifurcation for newly established fractional-order neural networks involving different types of delays. By means of an appropriate variable substitution, equivalent fractional-order neural network systems involving one delay are built. By discussing the distribution of roots of the characteristic equation of the established fractional-order neural network systems and selecting the delay as bifurcation parameter, a novel delay-independent bifurcation condition is derived. The investigation verifies that the delay is a significant parameter which has an important influence on stability nature and Hopf bifurcation behavior of neural network systems. The computer simulation plots and bifurcation graphs effectively illustrate the reasonableness of the theoretical fruits.

This work principally considers the stability issue and the emergence of Hopf bifurcation for a class of fractional-order BAM neural network models concerning time delays. Through the detailed analysis on the distribution of the roots of the characteristic equation of the involved fractional-order delayed BAM neural network systems, we set up a new delay-independent condition to guarantee the stability and the emergence of Hopf bifurcation for the investigated fractional-order delayed BAM neural network systems. The work indicates that delay is a significant element that has a vital impact on the stability and the emergence of Hopf bifurcation in fractional-order delayed BAM neural network systems. The simulation figures and bifurcation plots are clearly presented to verify the derived key research results. The established conclusions of this work have significant guiding value in regulating and optimizing neural networks.

In this paper, based on the earlier research, a new fractional-order chaotic Genesio-Tesi model is established. The chaotic phenomenon of the fractional-order chaotic Genesio-Tesi model is controlled by designing two suitable time-delayed feedback controllers. With the aid of Laplace transform, we obtain the characteristic equation of the controlled chaotic Genesio-Tesi model. Then by regarding the time delay as the bifurcation parameter and analyzing the characteristic equation, some new sufficient criteria to guarantee the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation for the controlled fractional-order chaotic Genesio-Tesi model are derived. The research shows that when time delay remains in some interval, the equilibrium point of the controlled chaotic Genesio-Tesi model is stable and a Hopf bifurcation will happen when the time delay crosses a critical value. The effect of the time delay on the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation for the controlled fractional-order chaotic Genesio-Tesi model is shown. At last, computer simulations check the rationalization of the obtained theoretical prediction. The derived key results in this paper play an important role in controlling the chaotic behavior of many other differential chaotic systems.

In this article, based on the previous works, a new fractional-order financial model is put up. The chaotic behavior of the fractional-order financial model is suppressed by designing an appropriatePDϑcontroller. By choosing the delay as the bifurcation parameter, we establish the sufficient condition to guarantee the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation of fractional-order financial model. Also, the influence of the delay and the fractional order on the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation of fractional-order financial model is revealed. An example is given to confirm the effectiveness of the analysis results. The main findings of this article play an important role in maintaining economic stability.

In recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet and the Internet of Things, network security is urgently needed. Malware becomes a major threat to network security. Thus, the study on malware propagation model plays an important role in network security. In the past few decades, numerous researchers put up various kinds of malware propagation models to analyze the dynamic interaction. However, many works are only concerned with the integer-order malware propagation models, while the investigation on fractional-order ones is very few. In this paper, based on the earlier works, we will put up a new fractional-order delayed malware propagation model. Letting the delay be bifurcation parameter and analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations of considered system, we will establish a set of new sufficient conditions to guarantee the stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation of fractional-order delayed malware propagation model. The study shows that the delay and the fractional order have important effect on the stability and Hopf bifurcation of considered system. To check the correctness of theoretical analyses, we carry out some computer simulations. At last, a simple conclusion is drawn. The derived results of this paper are completely innovative and play an important guiding role in network security.

In this manuscript, a delayed Nicholson-type model with linear harvesting terms is investigated. Applying coincidence degree theory, we establish a sufficient condition which guarantees the existence of positive periodic solutions for the delayed Nicholson-type model. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functions, a new criterion for the uniqueness and global attractivity of the periodic solution of the Nicholson-type delay system is obtained. The derived results of this article are completely new and complement some previous investigations.

This paper deals with a competitor-competitor-mutualist Lotka-Volterra model. A series of sufficient criteria guaranteeing the stability and the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation for the model are obtained. Several concrete formulae determine the properties of bifurcating periodic solutions by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold principle. Computer simulations are given to support the theoretical predictions. At last, biological meaning and a conclusion are presented.

With the aid of computer algebra systemMathematica8.0 and by the integral factor method, for a family of generalized nilpotent systems, we first compute the first several quasi-Lyapunov constants, by vanishing them and rigorous proof, and then we get sufficient and necessary conditions under which the systems admit analytic centers at the origin. In addition, we present that seven amplitude limit cycles can be created from the origin. As an example, we give a concrete system with seven limit cycles via parameter perturbations to illustrate our conclusion. An interesting phenomenon is that the exponent parameterncontrols the singular point type of the studied system. The main results generalize and improve the previously known results in Pan.

We investigate the existence of mild solutions for fractional order differential equations with integral boundary conditions and not instantaneous impulses. By some fixed-point theorems, we establish sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solutions. Finally, two interesting examples are given to illustrate our theory results.

A Lotka-Volterra predator-prey model with time-varying delays is investigated. By using the differential inequality theory, some sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence and global asymptotic stability of the system are established. The paper ends with some interesting numerical simulations that illustrate our analytical predictions.

A four-dimensional neural network model with delay is investigated. With the help of the theory of delay differential equation and Hopf bifurcation, the conditions of the equilibrium undergoing Hopf bifurcation are worked out by choosing the delay as parameter. Applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument, we derive the explicit formulae for determining the properties of the bifurcating periodic solutions. Numerical simulations are performed to illustrate the analytical results.

An asymptotically periodic predator-prey model with time delay is investigated. Some sufficient conditions for the uniformly strong persistence of the system are obtained. Our result is an important complementarity to the earlier results.

An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

A class of nonautonomous two-species competitive system with stage structure and impulse is considered. By using the continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, we derive a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions that guarantee the existence of at least a positive periodic solution, and, by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, the uniqueness and global attractivity of the positive periodic solution are presented. Finally, an illustrative example is given to demonstrate the correctness of the obtained results.

This paper deals with a kind of nonlinear Duffing equation with a deviating argument and time-varying delay. By using differential inequality techniques, some very verifiable criteria on the existence and exponential stability of antiperiodic solutions for the equation are obtained. Our results are new and complementary to previously known results. An example is given to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our main results.

By using Schaeffer's theorem and Lyapunov functional, sufficient conditions of the existence and globally exponential stability of positive periodic solution to an impulsive neural network with time-varying delays are established. Applications, examples, and numerical analysis are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the main results.

A class of stage-structured predator-prey model with time delay and delay-dependent parameters is considered. Its linear stability is investigated and Hopf bifurcation is demonstrated. Using normal form theory and center manifold theory, some explicit formulae for determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are performed to verify the analytical results.

A class of discrete-time system modelling a network with two neurons is considered. First, we investigate the global stability of the given system. Next, we study the local stability by techniques developed by Kuznetsov to discrete-time systems. It is found that Neimark-Sacker bifurcation (or Hopf bifurcation for map) will occur when the bifurcation parameter exceeds a critical value. A formula determining the direction and stability of Neimark-Sacker bifurcation by applying normal form theory and center manifold theorem is given. Finally, some numerical simulations for justifying the theoretical results are also provided.

A discrete predator-prey model with Holling II and Beddington-DeAngelis functional responses is investigated. With the aid of differential equations with piecewise constant arguments, a discrete version of continuous nonautonomous delayed predator-prey model with Beddington-DeAngelis functional responses is proposed. By using Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions of the model are established.

A class of two-neuron networks with resonant bilinear terms is considered. The stability of the zero equilibrium and existence of Hopf bifurcation is studied. It is shown that the zero equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable when the time delay is small enough, while change of stability of the zero equilibrium will cause a bifurcating periodic solution as the time delay passes through a sequence of critical values. Some explicit formulae for determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory. Finally, numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are carried out.
