Abstract: International audience; Cet article présente l'approche de l'équipe TTGV dans le cadre de sa participation aux deux tâches proposées lors du DEFT 2023 : l'identification du nombre de réponses supposément justes à un QCM et la prédiction de l'ensemble de réponses correctes parmi les cinq proposées pour une question donnée. Cet article présente les différentes méthodologies mises en oeuvre, explorant ainsi un large éventail d'approches et de techniques pour aborder dans un premier temps la distinction entre les questions appelant une seule ou plusieurs réponses avant de s'interroger sur l'identification des réponses correctes. Nous détaillerons les différentes méthodes utilisées, en mettant en exergue leurs avantages et leurs limites respectives. Ensuite, nous présenterons les résultats obtenus pour chaque approche. Enfin, nous discuterons des limitations intrinsèques aux tâches elles-mêmes ainsi qu'aux approches envisagées dans cette contribution.

Abstract: International audience; Automated audio captioning is the multimodal task of describing environmental audio recordings with fluent natural language. Most current methods utilize pre-trained analysis models to extract relevant semantic content from the audio input. However, prior information on language modeling is rarely introduced, and corresponding architectures are limited in capacity due to data scarcity. In this paper, we present a method leveraging the linguistic information contained in BART, a large-scale conditional language model with general purpose pre-training. The caption generation is conditioned on sequences of textual AudioSet tags. This input is enriched with temporally aligned audio embeddings that allows the model to improve the sound event recognition. The full BART architecture is fine-tuned with few additional parameters. Experimental results demonstrate that, beyond the scaling properties of the architecture, language-only pre-training improves the text quality in the multimodal setting of audio captioning. The best model achieves stateof-the-art performance on AudioCaps with 46.5 SPIDEr.

Abstract: International audience; Summaries of texts and documents written by people present a high variability, depending on the information they want to focus on and their writing style. Despite recent progress in generative models and controllable text generation, automatic summarization systems are still relatively limited in their capacity to both generate various types of summaries and capture this variability from a corpus. We propose to address this challenge with a multi-decoder model for abstractive sentence summa-rization that generates several summaries from a single input text. This model is an extension of a sequence-to-sequence model in which multiple concurrent decoders with shared attention and embeddings are trained to generate different summaries that capture the variability of styles present in the corpus. The full model is trained jointly with an Expectation-Maximization algorithm. A first qualitative analysis of the resulting de-coders reveals clusters that tend to be consistent with respect to a given style, e.g., passive vs. active voice. The code and experimental setup are released as open source.

Abstract: Most unsupervised neural networks training methods concern generative models, deep clustering, pretraining or some form of representation learning. We rather deal in this work with unsupervised training of the final classification stage of a standard deep learning stack, with a focus on two types of methods: unsupervisedsupervised risk approximations and one-class models. We derive a new analytical solution for the former and identify and analyze its similarity with the latter. We apply and validate the proposed approach on multiple experimental conditions, in particular on four challenging recent Natural Language Processing tasks as well as on an anomaly detection task, where it improves over state-of-the-art models.

Abstract: International audience; Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of equipment is defined as the duration between the current time and the time when it no longer performs its intended function. An accurate and reliable prognostic of the remaining useful life provides decision-makers with valuable information to adopt an appropriate maintenance strategy to maximize equipment utilization and avoid costly breakdowns. In this work, we propose an end-to-end deep learning model based on multi-layer perceptron and long short-term memory layers (LSTM) to predict the RUL. After normalization of all data, inputs are fed directly to an MLP layers for feature learning, then to an LSTM layer to capture temporal dependencies, and finally to other MLP layers for RUL prognostic. The proposed architecture is tested on the NASA commercial modular aero-propulsion system simulation (C-MAPSS) dataset. Despite its simplicity with respect to other recently proposed models, the model developed outperforms them with a significant decrease in the competition score and in the root mean square error score between the predicted and the gold value of the RUL. In this paper, we will discuss how the proposed end-toend model is able to achieve such good results and compare it to other deep learning and state-ofthe-art methods.

Abstract: International audience; We study in this work the importance of depth in convolutional models for text classification, either when character or word inputs are considered. We show on 5 standard text classification and sentiment analysis tasks that deep models indeed give better performances than shallow networks when the text input is represented as a sequence of characters. However, a simple shallow-and-wide network outper-forms deep models such as DenseNet with word inputs. Our shallow word model further establishes new state-of-the-art performances on two datasets: Yelp Binary (95.9%) and Yelp Full (64.9%).

Abstract: International audience; Sentence compression involves selecting key information present in the input and rewriting this information into a short, coherent text. Using the Gigaword corpus, we provide a detailed investigation of how syntax can help guide both extractive and abstractive sentence compression. We explore different ways of selecting subtrees from the dependency structure of the input sentence; compare the results of various models and show that preselecting information based on syntax yields promising results.

Abstract: International audience; Because of license restrictions, it often becomes impossible to strictly reproduce most research results on Twitter data already a few months after the creation of the corpus. This situation worsened gradually as time passes and tweets become inaccessible. This is a critical issue for reproducible and accountable research on social media. We partly solve this challenge by annotating a new Twitter-like corpus from an alternative large social medium with licenses that are compatible with reproducible experiments: Mastodon. We manually annotate both dialogues and sentiments on this corpus, and train a multi-task hierarchical recurrent network on joint sentiment and dialog act recognition. We experimentally demonstrate that transfer learning may be efficiently achieved between both tasks, and further analyze some specific correlations between sentiments and dialogues on social media. Both the annotated corpus and deep network are released with an open-source license.

Abstract: This report aims at showing the capacity of transfering a deep neural network on char-level on massive dataset Twitter, using distant supervision. We showed that more data could help for the Stanford140 dataset. The best overal result observed is 84% of transfer learning for two sentiment polarity classes (positive-negative) from 16M emoticons subjective SESAMm dataset to small SemEval 2013 dataset. Other learning of three classes (with neutral) or nine classes based on emoticons (happy, laughing, kisswink, playful, sad, horror, shock, annoyed, hesitated) didn't show any advantages yet in the study.

Abstract: International audience; This work explores weakly supervised training of discrimi-native linear classifiers. Such features-rich classifiers have been widely adopted by the Natural Language processing (NLP) community because of their powerful modeling capacity and their support for correlated features , which allow separating the expert task of designing features from the core learning method. However, unsupervised training of discrim-inative models is more challenging than with generative models. We adapt a recently proposed approximation of the classifier risk and derive a closed-form solution that greatly speeds-up its convergence time. This method is appealing because it provably converges towards the minimum risk without any labeled corpus, thanks to only two reasonable assumptions about the rank of class marginal and Gaussianity of class-conditional linear scores. We also show that the method is a viable , interesting alternative to achieve weakly supervised training of linear classifiers in two NLP tasks: predicate and entity recognition.

Abstract: International audience; This work explores two approaches to improve the discriminative models that are commonly used nowadays for entity detection: tree-kernels and unsupervised training. Feature-rich classifiers have been widely adopted by the Natural Language processing (NLP) community because of their powerful modeling capacity and their support for correlated features, which allow separating the expert task of designing features from the core learning method. The first proposed approach consists in leveraging the fast and efficient linear models with unsupervised training, thanks to a recently proposed approximation of the classifier risk, an appealing method that provably converges towards the minimum risk without any labeled corpus. In the second proposed approach, tree kernels are used with support vector machines to exploit dependency structures for entity detection , which relieve designers from the burden of carefully design rich syntactic features manually. We study both approaches on the same task and corpus and show that they offer interesting alternatives to supervised learning for entity recognition.

Abstract: International audience; This paper describes the LORIA first participation at the SPMRL Shared Task. The focus of this work is on exploring several options to take advantage of the unlabeled data to improve the performances of a baseline dependency parser, which has neither be tuned to the specificities of the shared task nor evaluation languages. The semi-supervised approaches investigated include LDA word classes and super-tags predicted by a linear classifier trained with self-training. None of these options resulted in increased parsing accuracy.

Abstract: International audience; This work proposes a new confidence measure for evaluating text-to-speech alignment systems outputs, which is a key component for many applications, such as semi-automatic corpus anonymization, lips syncing, film dubbing, corpus preparation for speech synthesis and speech recognition acoustic models training. This confidence measure exploits deep neural networks that are trained on large corpora without direct supervision. It is evaluated on an open-source spontaneous speech corpus and outperforms a confidence score derived from a state-of-the-art text-to-speech aligner. We further show that this confidence measure can be used to fine-tune the output of this aligner and improve the quality of the resulting alignment.

Abstract: International audience; We propose a new approach to perform semi-supervised training of Semantic Role Labeling models with very few amount of initial labeled data. The proposed approach combines in a novel way supervised and unsupervised training, by forcing the supervised classifier to over-generate potential semantic candidates, and then letting unsupervised inference choose the best ones. Hence, the supervised classifier can be trained on a very small corpus and with coarse-grain features, because its precision does not need to be high: its role is mainly to constrain Bayesian inference to explore only a limited part of the full search space. This approach is evaluated on French and English. In both cases, it achieves very good performance and outperforms a strong supervised baseline when only a small number of annotated sentences is available and even without using any previously trained syntactic parser.

Abstract: International audience; This work proposes a generative model to infer latent semantic structures on top of manual speech transcriptions in a spoken dialog reservation task. The proposed model is akin to a standard semantic role labeling system, except that it is unsupervised, it does not rely on any syntactic information and it exploits concepts derived from a domain-specific ontology. The semantic structure is obtained with un- supervised Bayesian inference, using the Metropolis-Hastings sampling algorithm. It is evaluated both in terms of attachment accuracy and purity-collocation for clustering, and compared with strong baselines on the French MEDIA spoken-dialog corpus.

Abstract: International audience; We present a method for automatically generating descriptions of biological events encoded in the KB BIO 101 Knowledge base. In this knowledge base, events are concepts (e.g., RELEASE) related by role relations (e.g., AGENT, PATIENT, PATH, INSTRUMENT) to the concepts denoting their arguments (e.g., GATED-CHANNEL, VASCULAR-TISSUE, IRON). We propose a probabilistic, unsupervised method which extracts possible verbalisation frames from large biology specific domain corpora and uses probabilities both to select an appropriate frame given an event description and to determine the mapping between syntactic and semantic arguments. That is, probabilities are used to determine which event argument fills which syntactic function (e.g., subject, object) in the produced verbalisation. We evaluate our approach on a corpus of 336 event descriptions, provide a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the results obtained and discuss possible directions for further work.

Abstract: International audience; This paper introduces a novel unsupervised approach to semantic role induction that uses a generative Bayesian model. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first model that jointly clusters syntactic verbs arguments into semantic roles, and also creates verbs classes according to the syntactic frames accepted by the verbs. The model is evaluated on French and English, outperforming, in both cases, a strong baseline. On English, it achieves results comparable to state-of-the-art unsupervised approaches to semantic role induction.

Abstract: La reconnaissance automatique de la parole est un domaine de recherche très actif depuis de nombreuses années. Bien que les performances des systèmes de transcription automatique aient considérablement progressé depuis tout ce temps, les erreurs commises par ces systèmes ne sont toujours pas acceptables du point de vue des utilisateurs, probablement du fait du référentiel humain qui reste largement inégalé, en particulier en ce qui concerne la robustesse des transcriptions aux conditions d'utilisation dégradées. J'étudie dans ce mémoire l'état de l'art du domaine pour la période allant de 1995 à 2010, en me concentrant sur les aspects liés à la robustesse des modèles acoustiques avec un seul microphone. J'y décris également mes principales contributions, en les classant selon les différents étages composant un système de reconnaissance automatique: paramétrisation, modèle acoustique et algorithme de décodage. Dans le domaine de la paramétrisation, mes deux contributions principales concernent une étude du domaine de l'analyse computationnelle de scènes auditives, ainsi qu'une nouvelle approche de débruitage de la parole s'appuyant sur une modélisation bayésienne des espaces bruités et non-bruités et de leur inter-dépendances. Mes travaux sur les modèles acoustiques ont débuté pendant ma thèse de doctorat, qui concernait l'étude des modèles multi-bandes, dans lesquels le spectre du signal de parole est décomposé en bandes de fréquences indépendantes. Dans ce cadre, j'ai notamment proposé un algorithme d'apprentissage discriminant global et la conception de nouvelles unités phonétiques adaptées à l'information phonétique présente dans les bandes. Une autre contribution importante est l'amélioration de l'adaptation jacobienne, qui est une approximation linéaire de la méthode PMC (Parallel Model Combination) dans le domaine cepstral. J'ai notamment proposé une approche permettant de choisir le compromis précision / complexité souhaité, et étendu l'approche au bruit convolutif. Une partie conséquente de mes travaux a ensuite concerné la reconnaissance avec données manquantes, qui, par ses aspects de marginalisation, peut être interprétée comme une modification de l'algorithme de reconnaissance. Cette modification exploite une nouvelle source d'information concernant la localisation spectro-temporelle du bruit afin de concentrer le décodage sur les observations acoustiques les moins corrompues. J'ai ainsi travaillé sur l'adaptation de cette approche au domaine cepstral, notamment en proposant un nouveau formalisme de calcul des masques minimisant directement le taux d'erreur de reconnaissance. Une autre contribution concerne le développement de modèles bayésiens originaux qui discrétisent l'espace de recherche pour estimer les masques, ou encore d'une nouvelle méthode minimisant la largeur de l'intervalle de marginalisation. Cette première partie du mémoire est guidée par une analyse des progrès réalisés en fonction d'un critère, celui de l'information prise en compte par les différentes méthodes proposées. Ce critère est en effet très important, car il a une grande influence sur les évaluations expérimentales et sur les capacités de généralisation des approches. De plus, alors que d'innombrables modèles théoriques d'apprentissage ont été proposés et testés depuis vingt ans, toutes ces approches exploitent quasiment exclusivement l'information acoustique et lexicale. Je soupçonne les limites des paradigmes actuels d'être en bien plus grande partie dus au déficit d'information et de connaissance qu'aux capacités des modèles eux-mêmes. J'ai donc commencé à m'intéresser depuis 2004 aux autres sources d'information qui pourraient servir en reconnaissance de la parole, notamment au contexte et plus particulièrement aux connaissances syntaxiques et sémantiques. Ce mémoire développe ces aspects essentiellement dans une deuxième partie consacrée à la reconnaissance des actes de dialogue, à la segmentation en phrases, à la sémantique lexicale par le biais de la détection automatique du thème, et enfin à l'analyse syntaxique des transcriptions automatiques de l'oral. Mon ambition est tout d'abord d'étudier et d'adapter les approches en linguistique computationnelle permettant d'extraire ces indices du flux de parole afin de prendre en compte les spécificités des transcriptions automatiques, puis d'exploiter en retour ces nouvelles informations afin d'améliorer le système de transcription automatique.

Abstract: International audience; This paper deals with automatic dialogue act (DA) recognition. Dialogue acts are sentence-level units that represent states of a dialogue, such as questions, statements, hesitations, etc. The knowledge of dialogue act realizations in a discourse or dialogue is part of the speech understanding and dialogue analysis process. It is of great importance for many applications: dialogue systems, speech recognition, automatic machine translation, etc. The main goal of this paper is to study the existing works about DA recognition and to discuss their respective advantages and drawbacks. A major concern in the DA recognition domain is that, although a few DA annotation schemes seem now to emerge as standards, most of the time, these DA tag-sets have to be adapted to the specificities of a given application, which prevents the deployment of standardized DA databases and evaluation procedures. The focus of this review is put on the various kinds of information that can be used to recognize DAs, such as prosody, lexical, etc., and on the types of models proposed so far to capture this information. Combining these information sources tends to appear nowadays as a prerequisite to recognize DAs.

Abstract: International audience; This work proposes a Bayesian approach to learn the behavior of hu- man characters that give advice and help users to complete tasks in a situated environment. We apply Bayesian Inverse Reinforcement Learning (BIRL) to in- fer this behavior in the context of a serious game, given evidence in the form of stored dialogues provided by experts who play the role of several conversational agents in the game. We show that the proposed approach converges relatively quickly and that it outperforms two baseline systems, including a dialogue man- ager trained to provide "locally" optimal decisions.

Abstract: National audience; Left dislocations are an important distinguishing feature of spoken French. In this paper, we present a hybrid approach for detecting the coreferential link that holds between left-dislocated elements and the coreferential pronoun occurring further on in the sentence. The approach combines a symbolic graph rewrite step with a maximum entropy classifier and achieves around 40% F-score. We conjecture that developing such approaches could contribute to the general anaphora resolution task and help improve parsers trained on corpora enriched with left dislocation anaphoric links.; Ce travail prend place dans le cadre plus général du développement d'une plate-forme d'analyse syntaxique du français parlé. Nous décrivons la conception d'un modèle automatique pour résoudre le lien anaphorique présent dans les dislocations à gauche dans un corpus de français parlé radiophonique. La détection de ces structures devrait permettre à terme d'améliorer notre analyseur syntaxique en enrichissant les informations prises en compte dans nos modèles automatiques. La résolution du lien anaphorique est réalisée en deux étapes : un premier niveau à base de règles filtre les configurations candidates, et un second niveau s'appuie sur un modèle appris selon le critère du maximum d'entropie. Une évaluation expérimentale réalisée par validation croisée sur un corpus annoté manuellement donne une F-mesure de l'ordre de 40%.

Abstract: Missing data recognition has been developped in order to increase noise robustness in automatic speech recognition. Many different factors, including the speech decoding process itself, shall be considered to locate the masks. In this work, we are considering Bayesian models of the masks, where every spectral feature is classified as reliable or masked, and is independent from the rest of the signal. This classification strategy can produce unrelated small ``spots'', while experiments suggest that oracle reliable and unreliable features tend to be clustered into time-frequency blocks. We call this undesired effect: the ``checkerboard'' effect. In this paper, we propose a new Bayesian missing data classifier that integrates frequency and temporal constraints in order to reduce, or avoid, this ``checkerboard'' effect. The proposed classifier is evaluated on the Aurora2 connected digit corpora. Integrating such constraints in the missing data classification leads to significant improvements in recognition accuracy.

Abstract: This paper deals with automatic dialog acts (DAs) recognition in Czech. A Dialog act is defined by J. L. Austin [1] as a meaning of an utterance at the level of illocutionary force. The four following DAs are considered: statements, orders, yes/no questions and other questions. In our previous works, we proposed, implemented and evaluated two new approaches to automatic DAs recognition based on sentence structure. These methods have been validated on a Czech corpus that simulates a task of train tickets reservation. The main goal of this paper is to propose a new approach to solve the problem of lack of training data for automatic DA recognition. This approach clusters the words in the sentence into several groups using maximization of mutual information between two neighbor word classes. The classification accuracy of the unigram model (our baseline approach) is 91 %. The proposed method, a clustered unigram model, reduces the DA error rate by 12 %

We start by analysing the problem of subjectivity of manual labeling of corpus. Then, we show the results of automatic sentence modality recognition by only two prosodic features: fundamental frequency (F0) and energy. The global accuracy (ACC) is not sufficient for our application: animate a talking head for deaf and hearing-impaired children by information about the sentence type. Next, we analyse the corpus for explaining these results. We consider, that prosodic features are sufficient only for prosodic question detection with accuracy greater than 80 %. For recognition of other modalities with accuracy over 80 %, we need other informations, as language model or semantic.

This paper addresses the problem of noise robustness using model compensation methods. Such algorithms are already available, but their complexity is usually high. An often referenced method for achieving noise robustness is Parallel Model Combination (PMC). Several algorithms have been proposed to develop more computationally efficient methods than PMC. For example, Jacobian adaptation approximates PMC with a linear transformation function in the cepstral domain. However, the Jacobian approximation is valid only for test environments that are close to the training conditions whereas, in real test conditions, the mismatch between the test and training environments is usually large. In this paper, we propose two methods, respectively called static and dynamic alpha-Jacobian adaptation (or alpha-JAC), to compute new linear approximations of PMC for realistic test environments. We further extend both algorithms to compensate for additive and convolutional noise and we derive the corresponding non-linear algorithm that is approximated. All these algorithms are experimentally compared in important mismatch conditions. As compared to Jacobian adaptation, improvements are observed with both static and dynamic alpha-Jacobian adaptation.

The next challenge probably consists to compensate for non-stationary noise as well. This work studies this problem by proposing and comparing two adaptations of the Parallel Model Combination (PMC) algorithm for non-stationary noise. A third method, derived from the missing data framework, is further proposed and compared to the two previous ones. In musical noise, experimental results show an important improvement of the recognition accuracy for one PMC-derived algorithm, compared to the non adapted system. The missing-data algorithm also performs quite well, despite its simplicity and the strong assumptions he is using.

The aim of this paper is to compare on the same noisy database different methods in order to increase the robustness of our HMM-based automatic speech recognition system. To deal with the non native speakers, we have tested two solutions: multi-models and adaptation techniques. For noisy speech, we have evaluated two types of methods: the first one (PMC and MLLR) adapts the initial models, trained in clean speech, with a few noisy sentences. The second one (RATZ and MCR) tries to remove the noise from the signal without modifying the HMM models.

Since such a corpus usually contains very few data, the models' Gaussians are most often partitioned into a few regression classes, and all the Gaussians in the same class share the same transformation. It is further possible to increase the number of transformations by modeling the dependency between the regression classes. We present, in this paper, such a technique where dependency is modeled by multiscale autoregressive (MAR) processes. The power of the MAR framework resides in its ability to efficiently and optimally estimate the state vector at each node of the regression tree, based on sparse and noisy measurements at different resolutions. The method is evaluated on a french numbers recognition task where the test corpus has been recorded in a car at various speeds and noise levels. The proposed adaptation method is based on Maximum Likelihood Linear Regression.

Abstract: Colloque avec actes et comité de lecture. internationale.; International audience; Hidden Markov models (HMMs) have been successfully applied in speech recognition, but their performances dramatically drop in noisy conditions. This paper presents a comparison of different methods to increase the robustness of an HMM automatic speech recognition system. We have evaluated two types of approaches: the first one estimates a transformation from a few noisy sentences to adapt the initial models trained in clean speech. The second one tries to remove the noise from the signal without modifying the HMM models. We have compared the following methods: Parallel Model Combination(PMC) Maximum A Posteriori(MAP) Maximum Likelihood Linear Regression(MLLR) Multivariate-Gaussian-based Cepstral Normalization(RATZ) Vector Taylor Series(VTS) Spectral subtraction. Tests have been conducted on the noisy database of a voice command task: a multi-speaker navigation system using a limited vocabulary. On a subset of the database with a SNR of 10 dB, we have obtained the following results: baseline system:85% PMC:93% RATZ:91% MLLR:93% In the full paper, we will give the results for all the methods and all the noisy conditions and we will discuss the advantages and drawbacks of each method regarding the real time capabilities and the size of the adaptation set.

Abstract: Colloque avec actes et comité de lecture. internationale.; International audience; Robustness of automatic speech recognition systems to noise is still an issue, especially for small footprint systems. This paper addresses the problem of noise robustness using model compensation. Jacobian adaptation is an example of model compensation, which is also computationally efficient. However, its performance drops when the mismatch between training and testing environments increases. Our new adaptation algorithm is based on finding the best linear transformation for compensating the mismatch between training and testing conditions. In this paper, it is shown that, using a dimensionality reduction technique, time and memory requirements of the algorithm can be further decreased compared to the classical Jacobian adaptation. Furthermore, experimental results for an English digit recognition task, recorded in a car at 60 mph, show that the error rate decreases by 66 %, compared to the classical Jacobian adaptation.

Abstract: Non disponible / Not available, Le travail de recherche présenté dans ce mémoire réalise l'étude d'une nouvelle architecture pour les systèmes de reconnaissance automatique de la parole. Cette architecture est basée sur un découpage du spectre du signal en plusieurs zones fréquentielles, éventuellement recouvrantes, et sur un traitement indépendant de chacune de ces «bandes». Celles-ci sont ensuite recombinées afin de fournir une réponse unique au problème de la reconnaissance. L'utilisation de cette méthode dite « Multi-Bandes » est à l'origine motivée par les travaux du psycho-acousticien H. Fletcher, travaux qui ont été récemment reconsidérés par J. B. Allen et qui aboutissent à un modèle de l'audition humaine proche de ce principe. L'application de celui-ci à une tâche de reconnaissance automatique de la parole est généralement motivée par sa robustesse aux bruits limités fréquentiellement. Nous montrons dans ce mémoire qu'il possède d'autres avantages, moins attendus, comme la résistance à tous les types de bruits stationnaires, et qu'il peut également surpasser le système de référence dans des environnements non bruités.Ce mémoire commence par présenter les travaux existant dans le domaine du « Multi-Bandes », puis réalise une étude préliminaire du comportement de chacune des bandes. Ensuite, le problème du choix du module de recombinaison est posé, et plusieurs solutions sont proposées et testées. De même, nous montrons qu'il n'est pas possible d'utiliser l'algorithme classique de Viterbi en reconnaissance continue lorsque les bandes sont asynchrones, et différentes autres possibilités sont étudiées. Nous proposons ainsi deux algorithmes permettant de recombiner les bandes soit en fin de phrase, soit après des segments temporels associés à des unités de parole, comme les phonèmes.

Abstract: Colloque avec actes et comité de lecture.; In this paper, we have gathered new results obtained with our Multi-Band system on the TIMIT database corrupted by additive noise. The robustness of the Multi-Band system to several kinds of noise is studied in details. The system is robust to spectral-limited noise, as it has already been shown in previous papers, but it is also robust to broad-spectral noise as long as the full-band is added as an additionnal stream to the Multi-Band system. A more robust version of this system is then obtained when training the recombination module in white noise. Thus, robustness to other kinds of noise is increased. Finally, we present the first results obtained with a new training algorithm which globally optimizes the Multi-Band system. Regarding the robustness of the method, these preliminary results are encouraging.
