Information on several papers discussed at a workshop held March 23-25, 2012 at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague, titled "Environmental histories of the Visegrad countries: Cold War and the environmental sciences," is presented. The conference focused on ideas of governance and religiosity. Topics included 17th century German views of governance in Mughal India, the influence of Marxism in Asia, and religious violence.
