Ophisops elegans are widely spread in different landscapes of semidesert zone of Armenia. The age of these lizards (N=53) was studied using the skeletochronological method. The main part (74%) of the examined sample consisted of specimens aged 3 and 4 years, with the maximum age being 5 years for both sexes. The body length of O. elegans in age groups of adults varied within a comparatively narrow range in comparing with other species of family Lacertidae. The maximum body size was 50 mm for males and 53.5 mm for females. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
