A letter is presented in which the authors discuss the clinical case of a 16-year-old female patient who experienced hyperechogenicity of the substantia nigra (SN) region. The patient has a history of Parkinson's disease (PD) with worsening symptoms such as hand tremor, bradykinesia and muscle rigidity. The identification of SN hyperechogenity in the patient was done through transcranial sonography (TCS) of the brain.
