The article discusses the danger of fatigue in military operations and states that failure to manage fatigue in war may lead to unsafe act, mission ineffectiveness, or failure. Effects of fatigue include poor judgment, slowed reflexes, and short temper. To combat sleep certain measures can be taken like proper scheduling, operational changes without the use of drugs, or increasing alertness with pharmaceutical aids. The article also emphasizes on fatigue management through joint doctrine.
