A 36-year-old unmarried male chef was incidentally diagnosed with hypokalemia during an evaluation for an acute perianal abscess. Despite potassium supplementation, he developed progressive weakness in his lower limbs, culminating in an inability to stand. Investigations confirmed severe hypokalemia, metabolic alkalosis, hypomagnesemia, secondary hyperaldosteronism, and low urinary calcium excretion, with normotension. The patient's long-standing stunted growth and lean physique since childhood were noted. Biochemical assays further identified type 2 diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome. Genetic analysis revealed three heterozygous SLC12A3 mutations (M1: c.421G>A: p .G141R, M2: c.509T>A: p .L170Q, and M3: c.704C>A: p .T235K), compound heterozygo us and derived from both parents, with M1 and M3 reported here for the first time. Treatment with spironolactone and oral potassium chloride stabilized his potassium levels. Following the administration of SGLT2 inhibitors in patients receiving hypoglycemic therapy, we observed a mild decrease in serum sodium levels. With worldwide cultivation, the faba bean ( Vicia faba L.) stands as one of the most vital cool-season legume crops, serving as a major component of food security. China leads global faba bean production in terms of both total planting area and yield, with major production hubs in Yunnan, Sichuan, Jiangsu, and Gansu provinces. The faba bean viruses have caused serious yield losses in these production areas, but previous researches have not comprehensively investigated this issue. In this study, we collected 287 faba bean samples over three consecutive years from eight provinces/municipalities of China. We employed small RNA sequencing, RT-PCR, DNA sequencing, and phylogenetic analysis to detect the presence of viruses and examine their incidence, distribution, and genetic diversity. We identified a total of nine distinct viruses: bean yellow mosaic virus (BYMV, Potyvirus ), milk vetch dwarf virus (MDV, Nanovirus ), vicia cryptic virus (VCV, Alphapartitivirus ), bean common mosaic virus (BCMV, Potyvirus ), beet western yellows virus (BWYV, Polerovirus ), broad bean wilt virus (BBWV, Fabavirus ), soybean mosaic virus (SMV, Potyvirus ), pea seed-borne mosaic virus (PSbMV, Potyvirus ), and cucumber mosaic virus (CMV, Cucumovirus ). BYMV was the predominant virus found during our sampling, followed by MDV and VCV. This study marks the first reported detection of BCMV in Chinese faba bean fields. Except for several isolates from Gansu and Yunnan provinces, our sequence analysis revealed that the majority of BYMV isolates contain highly conserved nucleotide sequences of coat protein (CP). Amino acid sequence alignment indicates that there is a conserved NAG motif at the N-terminal region of BYMV CP, which is considered important for aphid transmission. Introduction: Research examining the bidirectional relationship between C-reactive protein (CRP) and depressive symptoms, while accounting for cumulative effect of repeated episodes of CRP or depressive symptoms, is currently deficient in non-Western populations., Methods: A nationally representative population-based cohort data from the Chinese Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) was utilized. In bi-directional analysis, we considered both single determinations and two successive determinations of CRP or depressive symptoms. Multivariate logistic regression assessed the association between elevated CRP levels at baseline or repeated episodes of CRP elevations over two successive determinations and subsequent elevated depressive symptoms, and vice versa., Results: Although single determinations of CRP or depressive symptoms yielded non-significant results in both directions, full multivariate models, adjusting for baseline depressive symptoms, socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behaviors, metabolic measures, and health status, revealed a significantly positive association based on two successive determinations of CRP or depressive symptoms. This significant association was observed between cumulative effects of sustained CRP elevations over two successive determinations (2 vs. 0) and subsequent elevated depressive symptoms (OR=1.58; 95% CI: 1.15 to 2.17) and between cumulative effect of repeated episodes of depression (2 vs. 0) and later elevated CRP (OR=1.26; 95% CI: 1.02 to 1.56). Furthermore, sex-stratified analyses confirmed the robustness of these relationships., Conclusion: There are bidirectional associations between depressive symptoms and CRP, driven by the cumulative effect of repeated episodes of CRP or depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older Chinese adults. Background: Adults with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in China suffer high morbidity. CAP is caused by a multitude of pathogens; however, pathogen-directed clinical symptoms are often lacking. Therefore, patients lacking an accurate microbiological diagnosis are administered with empirical antimicrobials., Methods: We collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, as well as clinical and laboratory data from 650 adult patients with CAP admitted to three hospitals in Hubei, Sichuan, and Zhejiang provinces in China. Specimens were cultured and tested using real-time reverse transcription qPCR (RT-qPCR) assays for the presence of 42 respiratory bacteria and viruses. CAP was investigated with respect to regions, genders, and age and patterns of infections or co-infections. Employing clinical guidelines adapted for diagnosis, we assessed retrospectively the appropriate pathogen-directed therapy and compared it with the initial empirical therapies., Results: Our study identified that 21.38% (139/650) of the patients were classified as having Severe CAP (S-CAP), with a higher prevalence among males, older adults, and during the warm season. Bacterial pathogens were detected in 35.53% (231/650) of cases. K. pneumoniae , H. influenzae , and S. aureus were the most prevalent bacteria across different demographics and regions. Viral pathogens were found in 48.76% (317/650) of patients Epstein-Barr, Human rhinovirus, and Cytomegalovirus were the most common viruses. Co-infections were present in 24.31% (158/650) of cases, with viral-bacterial co-infections being the most frequent. The RT-qPCR demonstrated significantly higher detection rates for key pathogens compared to standard culture methods. It showed potential in optimizing antimicrobial prescriptions by allowing for de-escalation in 18.30% (95/518) of patients, among which reducing the number of excessive antibiotics mainly comprised decreasing the use of 2nd or 3rd generation cephalosporins (5.79%, 30/518) and β-lactamase inhibitor combinations., Conclusion: The study highlights the significant burden of S-CAP, particularly among specific demographics and seasons. The prevalence of bacterial and viral pathogens, along with the high rate of co-infections, emphasizes the need for comprehensive diagnostic approaches. Background and Aims: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the major cause of lower respiratory tract infections in children and the elderly, often progressing to pneumonia and severe sequelae. However, there are currently no feasible and cost-effective interventions with proven efficacy for children, making medications with anti-RSV activity urgently needed. Traditional Chinese medicine has shown promising therapeutic efficacy in alleviating viral infection symptoms. Therefore, we aimed to develop effective strategies for RSV treatment based on traditional Chinese medicine., Methods and Results: The infection status was assessed in BALB/c mice with or without Xuanfei Formula (XFF) treatment over a one-week period using H&E staining, cytokine assays and RSV titer testing after RSV challenge. Remarkably, on the first day of XFF intervention, both the pro-inflammation cytokine levels in the serum and RSV-N gene copies in the lung of mice were plummeted, compared to the RSV-infected group. This implied that XFF might possess the immune-independent anti-RSV capability. To elucidate the underlying mechanism, we employed transcriptome analysis followed by k-means analysis. The reversal effects of XFF against RSV primarily focused on the processes of innate and adaptive immunity. Additionally, we found that XFF administration corrected the disordered fatty acid and cholesterol metabolism processes during RSV infection. Lipidomics profiling indicated consistent cholesterol abundance with transcriptional changes but not fatty acids. Cholesterol synthesis-related genes mRNA levels and cholesterol synthesis intermediates detection supported XFF's repression upon cholesterol biosynthesis. Aberrantly increased cholesterol production has been reported as necessary for RSV infection. To mimic that, we observed lovastatin treatment inhibited RSV replication and pro-inflammation cytokine expression in vitro . Transcription factor prediction of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) involved in cholesterol synthesis implicated SREBP2. Through network pharmacology, stigmasterol and β-sitosterol were identified as the effective active ingredients within the XFF, with the help of further molecular docking and mass spectrum detection. Xp21 DNA microdeletion syndrome is a very rare disease characterized by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), chronic granulomatous disease (CGD), and McLeod syndrome (MLS). Due to the complex and diverse clinical manifestations, early diagnosis remains a challenge for many physicians. In this study, for the purpose of determining the pathogenic gene variants and definitive diagnosis in a patient medically backgrounded with RP and CGD from a normal Chinese family, whole-exome sequencing (WES) was performed in this proband and copy number variation (CNV) was further verified in other family members by qPCR. A genetic evaluation revealed that the short arm of the X chromosome in the proband had a deletion CNV Xp21.1p11.4 (37431123-38186681) of approximately 0.755 Mb in size, and contained three contiguous OMIM genes as X-linked Kx blood group antigen ( XK ), cytochrome b-245 beta chain ( CYBB ), and RP GTPase regulator ( RPGR ). The qPCR results confirmed the copy number loss in Xp21.1p11.4 present in the proband and his unaffected mother. According to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) guidelines for the CNV interpretation, the deletion of this segment was a pathogenic variant. Our results provided evidence that CNV deletion of Xp21.1p11.4 in the short arm of the X chromosome was a pathogenic variant in such Chinese RP and CGD family, and the McLeod phenotype was not yet available. To investigate whether bullying and psychological conditions are correlated, this study analyzed a survey of primary and secondary school students from Zigong City, Sichuan Province. A total of 95,545 students completed a personal information questionnaire, the Multidimensional Peer-Victimization Scale (MPVS), and eight other scales pertaining to various psychological problems. The data showed that 68,315 (71.5%) participants experienced school bullying at varying degrees, indicating the prevalence of bullying among adolescents. The chi-square tests revealed a strong correlation between school bullying and psychological conditions. This correlation was further explored through multivariate logistic regression, showing that students who experienced mild bullying had a 3.10 times higher probability of emotional and behavioral problems, 4.06 times higher probability of experiencing prodromal symptoms of mental illness, 4.72 times higher probability of anxiety, 3.28 times higher probability of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 4.07 times higher probability of poor sleep quality, 3.13 times higher probability of internet addiction, 2.18 times higher probability of poor mental health, and 3.64 times higher probability of depression than students who did not experience bullying. The corresponding probabilities for students who experienced severe bullying were 11.35, 17.35, 18.52, 12.59, 11.67, 12.03, 4.64, and 5.34 times higher, respectively. Important tick-borne diseases include spotted fever group Rickettsia (SFGR), Anaplasma , and Ehrlichia , which cause harm to animal and human health. Ixodidae are the primary vectors of these pathogens. We aimed to analyze the prevalence and genetic diversity of SFGR, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia species in the Ixodidae in Shaanxi Province, China. Herein, 1,113 adult Ixodidae ticks were collected from domestic cattle and goats, and detected using nested PCR. A total of four Ixodidae species were collected and Ca. R. jingxinensis (20.58%, 229/1113), A. bovis (3.05%, 34/1113), A. capra (3.32%, 37/1113), A. marginale (0.18%, 2/1113), E. sp. Yonaguni138 (0.18%, 2/1113), and a potent novel Ehrlichia species named E. sp. Baoji96 (0.09%, 1/1113) were detected. A. marginale was detected for the first time in Rhipicephalus microplus . E . sp. Baoji96 was closely related to E. chaffeensis and was first identified in Haemaphysalis longicornis . In addition, co-infection with two Rickettsiales pathogens within an individual tick was detected in 10 (1.54%) ticks. In this study, a total of 179 ticks infesting ruminant livestock, including 166 Haemaphysalis longicornis ticks and 13 Rhipicephalus microplus ticks were collected from Yingshan county of Hubei province, China in 2021-2022. PCR testing and sequence analysis revealed that the ticks infected with various species of pathogens including Rickettsia ( R. japonica ), Anaplasma ( A. bovis , A. ovis , A. platys , and Ca. A. boleense), Ehrlichia ( E. minasensis and Ehrlichia sp.), Theileria ( T. orientalis and T. luwenshuni ), and Babesia ( B. bigemina ). The infection rates of these pathogens were 0.56, 16.76, 7.26, 2.79 and 0.56%. respectively, while only 3 of 13 R. microplus ticks were detected to be infected wth Ehrlichia sp. , A. bove ., or T. luwenshuni . Our results revealed that a variety of tick-borne pathogens highly carried by these ticks, specially Ha. longicornis . This study investigated the effects of replacing hybrid giant napiers with sugarcane bagasse and fermented sugarcane bagasse on the growth performance, apparent nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation characteristics, and rumen microorganisms of Simmental crossbred cattle. Twenty-one Simmental crossbred cattle with similar initial body weight (363.42 ± 8.67 kg) were randomly divided into three groups: Group CON (20% hybrid giant napier +45% distillers grains +35% concentrate mixture), Group SB (20% sugarcane bagasse +45% distillers grains +35% concentrate mixture), and Group FSB (20% fermented sugarcane bagasse +45% distillers grains +35% concentrate mixture). The average daily weight gain in the SB group was lower than in the CON group, no significant difference was found between the CON and FSB groups. The feed conversion ratio of the CON and FSB groups was lower compared to the SB group. The apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber in the SB group was lower than in the CON group, no significant difference was found between the CON and FSB groups. The levels of NH 3 -N, microbial protein, acetate, propionate, butyrate, isobutyrate, and total volatile fatty acids were higher in the CON and FSB groups than in the SB group, no significant difference was found between the CON and FSB groups. The relative abundances of Christensenellaceae_R-7_group , Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group , Prevotellaceae_UCG-003 , Saccharofermentans , and Eubacteriumcoprostanoligenes_group were lower in the CON and FSB groups compared to the SB group. The relative abundance of Succiniclasticum was highest in the FSB group, followed by the CON group and then the SB group. Correlation analysis showed that the relative abundance of Succiniclasticum was positively correlated with propionate and NH 3 -N content, while the relative abundance of Rikenellaceae_RC9_gut_group was inversely correlated with NH 3 -N content. Gene function prediction indicated that fermented sugarcane bagasse promoted rumen microbial amino acid metabolism. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is located at the interface between the vascular system and the brain parenchyma, and is responsible for communication with systemic circulation and peripheral tissues. During life, the BBB can be subjected to a wide range of perturbations or stresses that may be endogenous or exogenous, pathological or therapeutic, or intended or unintended. The risk factors for many diseases of the brain are multifactorial and involve perturbations that may occur simultaneously (e.g., two-hit model for Alzheimer's disease) and result in different outcomes. Therefore, it is important to understand the influence of individual perturbations on BBB function in isolation. Here we review the effects of eight perturbations: mechanical forces, temperature, electromagnetic radiation, hypoxia, endogenous factors, exogenous factors, chemical factors, and pathogens. While some perturbations may result in acute or chronic BBB disruption, many are also exploited for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. The resultant outcome on BBB function depends on the dose (or magnitude) and duration of the perturbation. Homeostasis may be restored by self-repair, for example, via processes such as proliferation of affected cells or angiogenesis to create new vasculature. Transient or sustained BBB dysfunction may result in acute or pathological symptoms, for example, microhemorrhages or hypoperfusion. Rural preschool teachers are increasingly experiencing job burnout, which could lead to their intention to leave and negatively impact education quality. This research explored the prevalence of job burnout among preschool teachers in rural China. It further investigated the potential influence of job-related characteristics on their levels of burnout. This study surveyed 10,581 preschool teachers across 34 counties in 18 provinces in China, utilizing multilevel structural equation models to analyze the situation and factors influencing job burnout. The findings indicate that the situation regarding job burnout among preschool teachers is not encouraging, particularly in the western areas and independent public kindergartens. Job resources were found to be associated with a reduction in burnout, while job demands had the opposite effect. The findings also revealed that job demands served as a mediating variable between job resources and job burnout. Moreover, the results also showed that reduced job burnout among preschool teachers was related to teacher cooperation, decision making, kindergarten resources and salary. On the other hand, role commitments, business issues, and classroom management were associated with increased burnout among preschool teachers. Furthermore, the impact of demands and resources on burnout was found to be intensified by kindergarten variables. To address the issue of burnout, it is essential to recognize the diversity and heterogeneity of kindergartens and take specific measures to reduce work demands while providing adequate and specific resources. Objective: Gender differences are prevalent in major depressive disorder (MDD), but the gender differences in the relationship between comorbid anxiety and thyroid hormones in young first-episode and drug-naive (FEND) MDD patients are unknown., Methods: A total of 1,289 young outpatients with FEDN MDD were recruited. Demographic and clinical data were collected for each patient. The patient's blood glucose, blood pressure, thyroid hormone, and thyroid antibody levels were measured. The Hamilton depression scale (HAMD), Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA), and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) were used to assess patients' depression, anxiety, and positive symptoms, respectively., Results: The prevalence of comorbid anxiety disorders was 80.4 and 79.4% in male and female MDD patients, respectively. Patients with anxiety had higher HAMD and PANSS scores, higher serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), anti-thyroglobulin antibody (A-TG), and thyroid peroxidase antibody (A-TPO) levels, higher blood glucose and blood pressure levels, and more patients with psychotic symptoms and suicide attempts. Male patients were younger and had a younger age of onset. Logistic regression analysis showed that HAMD score and comorbid suicide attempts were significant predictors of anxiety symptoms in both males and females, whereas A-TG predicted anxiety symptoms in female patients only. Limitations: No causal relationship could be drawn due to the cross-sectional design., Conclusion: This study showed gender differences in factors associated with anxiety symptoms in patients with MDD. The relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and the development of psychotic symptoms is not well understood. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the frequency and distribution of ACEs among patients with schizophrenia and their potential correlation with symptomatology and personality pathology. We conducted a cross-sectional study involving 571 patients with schizophrenia in Shanghai, China. Symptomatology was assessed using the Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS) and personality pathology was assessed using the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire Fourth Edition Plus (PDQ-4+). ACEs were assessed using the Child Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form (CTQ-SF). ACEs were highly prevalent, with 80.8% of the patients with schizophrenia reporting at least one ACE. The three most common types of ACE were physical neglect (69.8%), emotional neglect (28.2%), and emotional abuse (22.9%). For specific ACE, emotional abuse was significantly associated with PD traits, whereas emotional and physical neglect types of ACE was significantly associated with negative symptoms. A higher level of physical abuse was more commonly reported by men, younger individuals, and those with a higher level of antisocial PD traits. Higher levels of physical neglect were associated with more severe negative symptoms. ACEs are commonly observed in patients with schizophrenia. English as Foreign Language (EFL) learners' cognitive processes have been a research focus in listening assessment. Most studies use correct responses as data, but undervalue the rich information of the incorrect answers or options (in the case of multiple choice questions, MCQ). However, the MCQ distractors are often intentionally designed to reveal learners' problems or barriers. In order to diagnose the EFL learners' listening barriers through incorrect responses, Cognitive Diagnostic Models (CDMs) for bugs were adopted, hence the name Bug-CDMs. First, five EFL listening barrier attributes were identified and two Bug Q-matrices were developed to comparatively analyze the learner's responses with different Bug-CDMs. The results revealed that Bug-GDINA was the optimal model, and the most prevalent barriers were semantic understanding and vocabulary recognition. These barriers confirmed both compensatory and non-compensatory relationships in causing listening comprehension failures. The study proved the feasibility of Bug-GDINA in diagnosing listening barriers from the incorrect responses. Metabolite genome-wide association studies (mGWASs) are increasingly used to discover the genetic basis of target phenotypes in plants such as Populus trichocarpa , a biofuel feedstock and model woody plant species. Despite their growing importance in plant genetics and metabolomics, few mGWASs are experimentally validated. Here, we present a functional genomics workflow for validating mGWAS-predicted enzyme-substrate relationships. We focus on uridine diphosphate-glycosyltransferases (UGTs), a large family of enzymes that catalyze sugar transfer to a variety of plant secondary metabolites involved in defense, signaling, and lignification. Glycosylation influences physiological roles, localization within cells and tissues, and metabolic fates of these metabolites. UGTs have substantially expanded in P. trichocarpa , presenting a challenge for large-scale characterization. Using a high-throughput assay, we produced substrate acceptance profiles for 40 previously uncharacterized candidate enzymes. Assays confirmed 10 of 13 leaf mGWAS associations, and a focused metabolite screen demonstrated varying levels of substrate specificity among UGTs. A substrate binding model case study of UGT-23 rationalized observed enzyme activities and mGWAS associations, including glycosylation of trichocarpinene to produce trichocarpin, a major higher-order salicylate in P. trichocarpa. We identified UGTs putatively involved in lignan, flavonoid, salicylate, and phytohormone metabolism, with potential implications for cell wall biosynthesis, nitrogen uptake, and biotic and abiotic stress response that determine sustainable biomass crop production. Rice ( Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food in many countries around the world, particularly in China. The production of rice is seriously affected by the bacterial leaf streak and rice blast, which can reduce rice yield or even cause it to fail to be harvested. In this study, susceptible material 58B was edited by CRISPR/Cas9, targeting a target of the Pi21 gene and a target of the effector-binding element (EBE) of the OsSULTR3;6 gene, and the mutants 58b were obtained by Agrobacterium-mediated method. The editing efficiency of the two targets in the T 0 generation was higher than 90.09%, the homozygous mutants were successfully selected in the T 0 generation, and the homozygous mutation rate of each target was higher than 26.67%. The expression of the edited pi21 and EBE of Ossultr3;6 was significantly reduced, and the expression of defense responsive genes was significantly upregulated after infected with rice blast. The lesion areas of rice blast and bacterial leaf streak were significantly reduced in 58b , and the resistance of both was effectively improved. Furthermore, the gene editing events did not affect the agronomic traits of rice. In this study, the resistance of 58b to rice blast and bacterial leaf streak was improved simultaneously. Introduction: Identifying the HER2 status of breast cancer patients is important for treatment options. Previous studies have shown that ultrasound features are closely related to the subtype of breast cancer. Methods: In this study, we used features of conventional ultrasound and ultrasound elastography to predict HER2 status. Results and Discussion: The performance of model (AUROC) with features of conventional ultrasound and ultrasound elastography is higher than that of the model with features of conventional ultrasound (0.82 vs. 0.53). The SHAP method was used to explore the interpretability of the models. Compared with HER2- tumors, HER2+ tumors usually have greater elastic modulus parameters and microcalcifications. Interest is one of the main factors motivating an individual's behavior, and its effect in the learning process has been widely confirmed in educational psychology. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of individual interest, topic interest and situational interest on the user's video click behavior in the online video browsing situation. We constructed an online experiment in which each participant was asked to use questionnaires to assess their responses to video categories, titles, and covers from the video-sharing website, Bilibili. Based on these responses, we obtained individual interests, topic interests, situational interests, and click behavior of the participants toward the videos. Correlation, regression and mediation analyses were conducted to explore the effects and mechanisms of the three interests on click behavior. The results found: (1) individual interest may have a positive but relatively weaker effect on click behavior, and (2) topic interest and situational interest positively predicted click behavior in all categories. The mediation analysis found: (1) in the otomads and fashion categories, the effect of individual interest on click behavior was partially mediated by topic and situational interest, and (2) in the anime, digits, life, dance, music, game, entertainment, and knowledge categories, the effect of individual interest on click behavior was fully mediated by topic interest and situational interest. These results revealed the facilitating effects and different effect modes of individual, topic, and situational interest on click behavior. Objective: The incidence of thyroid dysfunction (TD) and major depressive disorder (MDD) is increasing year by year in the general population. However, the prevalence and correlates of TD in first-episode drug-naive (FEDN) MDD patients have not been explored. This study sought to fill this gap and examine the association between TD and MDD., Methods: We recruited 1,289 FEDN MDD patients aged 18 ~ 45 years. A total of 1,289 FEDN MDD outpatients were recruited. Demographical and suicide data were collected for each patient, and lipid profiles, thyroid function, and fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels were measured. The Hamilton Depression Scale 17 (HAMD-17) was assessed for depression., Results: The prevalence of TD in young FEDN MDD patients was 64.86%. Compared with those without TD, patients with TD had longer duration of illness, greater HAMD score, higher BMI, TG, TC, and LDL-C levels, and higher suicide attempt rates, but lower HDL-C and FBG levels. Further logistic regression indicated that duration of illness, HAMD score, TC, HDL-C, BMI, and FBG levels were significantly associated with TD., Limitations: No causal relationship can be drawn due to the cross-sectional design., Conclusion: TD is common in young FEDN MDD patients. Introduction: Duck circovirus (DuCV) infection is currently recognized as an important immunosuppressive disease in commercial duck flocks in China. Specific antibodies against DuCV viral proteins are required to improve diagnostic assays and understand the pathogenesis of DuCV infection., Methods and Results: To generate DuCV-specific monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), a recombinant DuCV capsid protein without the first 36 N-terminal amino acids was produced in Escherichia coli . Using the recombinant protein as an immunogen, a mAb was developed that reacted specifically with the DuCV capsid protein, expressed in E. coli and baculovirus systems. Using homology modeling and recombinant truncated capsid proteins, the antibody-binding epitope was mapped within the region of 144 IDKDGQIV 151 , which is exposed to solvent in the virion capsid model structure. To assess the applicability of the mAb to probe the native virus antigen, the murine macrophage cell line RAW267.4 was tested for DuCV replicative permissiveness. Introduction: Increases in plant species diversity may increase the community diversity effect and produce community over-yielding. Epichloë endophytes, as symbiotic microorganisms, are also capable of regulating plant communities, but their effects on community diversity effects are often overlooked., Methods: In this experiment, we investigated the effects of endophytes on the diversity effects of host plant community biomass by constructing artificial communities with 1-species monocultures and 2- and 4-species mixtures of endophyte-infected (E+) and endophyte-free (E-) Achnatherum sibiricum and three common plants in its native habitat, which were potted in live and sterilized soil., Results and Discussion: The results showed that endophyte infection significantly increased the belowground biomass and abundance of Cleistogenes squarrosa, marginally significantly increased the abundance of Stipa grandis and significantly increased the community diversity (evenness) of the 4-species mixtures. Endophyte infection also significantly increased the over-yielding effects on belowground biomass of the 4-species mixtures in the live soil, and the increase in diversity effects on belowground biomass was mainly due to the endophyte significantly increasing the complementary effects on belowground biomass. The effects of soil microorganisms on the diversity effects on belowground biomass of the 4-species mixtures were mainly derived from their influences on the complementary effects. The effects of endophytes and soil microorganisms on the diversity effects on belowground biomass of the 4-species communities were independent, and both contributed similarly to the complementary effects on belowground biomass. Faba bean ( Vicia faba L.) is a valuable legume crop and data on its seed-related traits is required for yield and quality improvements. However, basic research on faba bean is lagging compared to that of other major crops. In this study, an F 2 faba bean population, including 121 plants derived from the cross WY7×TCX7, was genotyped using the Faba_bean_130 K targeted next-generation sequencing genotyping platform. The data were used to construct the first ultra-dense faba bean genetic map consisting of 12,023 single nucleotide polymorphisms markers covering 1,182.65 cM with an average distance of 0.098 cM. The map consisted of 6 linkage groups, which is consistent with the 6 faba bean chromosome pairs. A total of 65 quantitative trait loci (QTL) for seed-related traits were identified (3 for 100-seed weight, 28 for seed shape, 12 for seed coat color, and 22 for nutritional quality). Furthermore, 333 candidate genes that are likely to participate in the regulation of seed-related traits were also identified. Objective: To describe the characteristics of large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) in wideband acoustic immittance (WAI) and to explore whether inner ear deformity has an impact on WAI results., Methods: Subjects with typical LVAS (LVAS group) and control subjects with a normal anatomical structure of the inner ear (control group) were screened from pediatric patients with cochlear implants using thin-slice computed tomography (CT) images of the temporal bone. With inflammation of the auditory canal and middle ear excluded by routine ear examination and 226 Hz acoustic immittance, WAI data were acquired. Then, the maximum absorbance as the major observation indicator on the mean tympanogram was compared between the LVAS group and control group, and a descriptive comparison of the mean tympanogram and frequency-absorbance curve at peak pressure was performed between the two groups., Results: The LVAS group included 21 cases (38 ears), and the control group included 27 cases (45 ears). All LVAS subjects met the Valvassori criteria, and the VA at the horizontal semicircular canal displayed flared expansion. On the mean tympanogram, the maximum absorbance in the LVAS group (0.542 ± 0.087) was significantly higher than that in the control group (0.455 ± 0.087) ( p < 0.001). The tympanogram in the LVAS group showed an overall elevation, and the absorbance at all pressure sampling points was significantly higher than that in the control group ( p < 0.001). The frequency-absorbance curve at peak pressure first increased and then decreased in both groups, and the LVAS group showed higher absorbance than the control group in the frequency range below 2,828 Hz. The absorbance at 343-1,124 Hz was significantly different between the two groups ( p < 0.001), and 343-1,124 Hz was the major frequency range at which the maximum absorbance on the mean tympanogram increased in the LVAS group., Conclusion: Large vestibular aqueduct syndrome (LVAS) shows increased absorbance in low and medium frequency ranges in WAI. The maximum absorbance on the mean tympanogram can serve as a reliable evaluation indicator. Introduction: The unique recombinant forms (URFs) of HIV-1 consist of a mixture of subtypes, and each URF has a unique breakpoint. In this study, we identified the near fulllength genome (NFLG) sequences of two novel HIV-1 URFs (Sample ID: BDD034A and BDL060) isolated during HIV-1 molecular surveillance in 2022 in Baoding city, Hebei Province, China., Methods: The two sequences were aligned with subtype reference sequences and CRFs from China using MAFFT v7.0, and the alignments were adjusted manually using BioEdit (v7.2.5.0). Phylogenetic and subregion trees were constructed using MEGA11 with the neighbor-joining (N-J) method. Recombination breakpoints were identified by SimPlot (v3.5.1) based on Bootscan analyses., Results: Recombinant breakpoint analysis revealed that the NFLGs of BDD034A and BDL060 were composed of CRF01&#95;AE and CRF07&#95;BC, containing seven segments, respectively. Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the acute effects of Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT), Whole-Body Vibration (WBV), and BFRT + WBV on the 20 m sprint, muscle activation, and metabolic accumulation in male sprinters. Method: Sixteen male sprinters randomly performed BFRT, WBV, or BFRT + WBV interventions with 72 h intervals. Electromyography (EMG) signals were collected before and during interventions. Fingertip blood was taken before, immediately after, and 15 min after the intervention. 20 m sprint was performed before and 3 min after the intervention. Results: 1) 0-10m and 0-20 m sprint performance were significantly improved after WBV and BFRT + WBV interventions ( p < 0.05), 0-20 m sprint performance was significantly improved after all three interventions ( p < 0.05), 2) After BFRT + WBV intervention, the EMG amplitude of the vastus lateralis and soleus were significantly improved. Greater increases in EMG activity of the tibialis anterior muscle ( p < 0.05)and blood lactate ( p < 0.05)were observed following BFRT intervention compared to BFRT + WBV intervention. Measuring people's life satisfaction in real time on a large scale is quite valuable for monitoring and promoting public mental health; however, the traditional questionnaire method cannot fully meet this need. This study utilized the emotion words in self-statement texts to train machine learning predictive models to identify an individual's life satisfaction. The SVR model was found to have the best performance, with the correlation between predicted scores and self-reported questionnaire scores achieving 0.42 and the split-half reliability achieving 0.939. This result demonstrates the possibility of identifying life satisfaction through emotional expressions and provides a method to measure the public's life satisfaction online. Brown planthopper (BPH) is the most devastating pest of rice in Asia, causing substantial yield losses and has become a challenging task to be controlled under field conditions. Although extensive measures have been taken over the past decades, which resulted in the evolution of new resistant BPH strains. Therefore, besides other possible approaches, equipping host plants with resistant genes is the most effective and environment-friendly technique for BPH control. Here, we systematically analyzed transcriptome changes in the susceptible rice variety Kangwenqingzhan (KW) and the resistant near-isogenic line (NIL) KW- Bph36 -NIL, through RNA-seq, depicting the differential expression profiles of mRNAs and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in rice before and after BPH feeding. We observed a proportion of genes (1.48%) and (2.74%) were altered in KW and NIL, respectively, indicating different responses of rice strains against BPH feeding. Nevertheless, we characterized 384 differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs (DELs) that can be impacted by the two strains by alternatively changing the expression patterns of the respective coding genes, suggesting their certain involvement in response to BPH feeding. In BPH invasion, KW and NIL responded differently by modifying the synthesis, storage, and transformation of intracellular substances, adjusting the nutrient accumulation and utilization inside and outside the cells. In addition, NIL expressed stronger resistance by acutely up-regulating genes and other transcription factors related to stress resistance and plant immunity. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, and its early detection is critical for preventing complications and optimizing treatment. In this study, a novel AF prediction method is proposed, which is based on investigating a subset of the 12-lead ECG data using a recurrent plot and ParNet-adv model. The minimal subset of ECG leads (II &V1) is determined via a forward stepwise selection procedure, and the selected 1D ECG data is transformed into 2D recurrence plot (RP) images as an input to train a shallow ParNet-adv Network for AF prediction. In this study, the proposed method achieved F1 score of 0.9763, Precision of 0.9654, Recall of 0.9875, Specificity of 0.9646, and Accuracy of 0.9760, which significantly outperformed solutions based on single leads and complete 12 leads. When studying several ECG datasets, including the CPSC and Georgia ECG databases of the PhysioNet/Computing in Cardiology Challenge 2020, the new method achieved F1 score of 0.9693 and 0.8660, respectively. The results suggested a good generalization of the proposed method. Compared with several state-of-art frameworks, the proposed model with a shallow network of only 12 depths and asymmetric convolutions achieved the highest average F1 score. CiteSpace V 6.1.R2 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 were used to visually analyzed institutions, countries, journals, authors, references, and keywords in research on NSSI., Results: A total of 799 studies about NSSI were analyzed via CiteSpace and VOSviewer. The number of annual publications related to NSSI is fluctuating growth. The USA and Harvard University are the most productive country and institutions. In the case of journals and co-cited journals, Psychiatry Research are the most productive journal and also ranked highest among co-cited journals. Furthermore, Michael Kaess has published the most publications, and Matthew K. Nock is the most cited author. An article published by Swannell SV et al. shows the highest citation counts. After analysis, the most common keywords are harm, adolescents and prevalence. Introduction: In recent years, research has used psycholinguistic features in public discourse, networking behaviors on social media and profile information to train models for depression detection. However, the most widely adopted approach for the extraction of psycholinguistic features is to use the Linguistic Inquiry Word Count (LIWC) dictionary and various affective lexicons. Other features related to cultural factors and suicide risk have not been explored. Moreover, the use of social networking behavioral features and profile features would limit the generalizability of the model. Therefore, our study aimed at building a prediction model of depression for text-only social media data through a wider range of possible linguistic features related to depression, and illuminate the relationship between linguistic expression and depression., Methods: We collected 789 users' depression scores as well as their past posts on Weibo, and extracted a total of 117 lexical features via Simplified Chinese Linguistic Inquiry Word Count, Chinese Suicide Dictionary, Chinese Version of Moral Foundations Dictionary, Chinese Version of Moral Motivation Dictionary, and Chinese Individualism/Collectivism Dictionary., Results: Results showed that all the dictionaries contributed to the prediction. The best performing model occurred with linear regression, with the Pearson correlation coefficient between predicted values and self-reported values was 0.33, the R-squared was 0.10, and the split-half reliability was 0.75., Discussion: This study did not only develop a predictive model applicable to text-only social media data, but also demonstrated the importance taking cultural psychological factors and suicide related expressions into consideration in the calculation of word frequency. Background: Oral mucositis (OM) is one of the most common adverse effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It greatly affects the patients' quality of life and hinders cancer treatment implementation. Treating OM with mouthwash is a widely used strategy that can effectively relieve symptoms and promote healing. However, the wide mouthwash selection confuses clinicians. This Bayesian network meta-analysis aimed to compare the effects of various mouthwash types used to treat OM and provide high-level evidence-based recommendations for OM treatment., Methods: Database search included PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science from inception to April 21, 2022. The primary outcome was OM score improvement following the World Health Organization grades. The randomized controlled trial (RCT) bias risk assessment tool provided in the Cochrane Handbook assessed the studies' risk of bias. We performed pairwise and Bayesian network meta-analysis with random effects following the PRISMA guideline., Results: The study included 13 RCTs with 570 patients. Pairwise comparisons showed that povidone-iodine was more effective than chlorhexidine (weighted mean difference [WMD], -2.64; 95% confidence interval [CI], -2.72 to -2.56) but inferior to granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF; WMD, 0.20; 95% CI, 0.06-0.34) after one week of mouthwash treatment. Vitamin E (WMD, -0.94; 95% CI, -1.03 to -0.85), natural drugs (WMD, -0.93; 95% CI, -1.46 to -0.40), and phenytoin (WMD, -0.38; 95% CI, -0.59 to -0.17) exhibited better therapeutic effects than a placebo after three weeks of treatment. Bayesian network meta-analysis showed that povidone-iodine was superior to chlorhexidine in treating OM (WMD, 2.63; 95% CI, 0.20-5.01). Other mouthwashes showed no significant differences. Rank probability indicated that the best OM therapeutic mouthwashes were GM-CSF (54%), vitamin E (24%), and natural drugs (43%) after one, two, and three weeks of treatment, respectively., Conclusion: GM-CSF was the most effective mouthwash type for OM treatment. When considering the cost and effectiveness, povidone-iodine and sodium bicarbonate might be the most advantageous. Furthermore, natural drugs have the same potential in treating OM. Introduction: In grassland ecosystems dominated by asexual plants, the maintenance, renewal, and resistance of plant populations to disturbance are more dependent on the belowground bud bank (BBB). However, the response of the BBB to environmental factors in the alpine grassland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP) is still unknown., Methods: Therefore, a transect survey was conducted to measure the size and scale of BBB and 21 factors in the alpine grassland of the QTP. In addition, the critical driving factors of BBB were screened by boost regression tree analysis, and a structural equation model (SEM) was employed to express the path coefficients of the key factors on the BBB size., Results: The results showed that BBB size had no significant geographical pattern in the QTP, and the BBB size was mainly accounted for by soil leucine aminopeptidase (LAP, 17.32%), followed by Margalef and Shannon -Wiener indices of plants (12.63% and 9.24%, respectively), and precipitation (9.23%). The global COVID-19 pandemic has created significant financial and operational challenges for some businesses. As a result, temporary welfare benefit reduction may be a tough but future-oriented choice for both employers and employees. The present study examined whether default nudges can be used to promote employees' approval of welfare-cutting policy while avoiding negative attitudes. Two online surveys were conducted during the first pandemic wave in China (February 2020). In the first study ( N  = 310), the participants were presented with a hypothetical welfare-cutting policy that used either an opt-in approach or an opt-out approach. We aimed to investigate how their approval and attitudes were different between two conditions. The results showed that the employees in the opt-out condition were more likely to accept the welfare-cutting policy than those in the opt-in condition, while participants' attitudes toward the policy employing opt-out approach were as negative as that employing opt-in approach. Study 2 ( N  = 1,519) involved a replication of Study 1 with two additional improved opt-out approaches (opt-out education and opt-out transparency). Compared with the opt-in approach and standard opt-out approach, the opt-out education approach both increased policy support and improved attitudes toward the welfare-cutting policy. Objectives: This study aims to review the documents on dysphagia, summarize the research direction, analyze the research hot spots and frontiers, report the research trends, and provide new ideas for future development in the field via CiteSpace., Methods: We retrieved articles on dysphagia published between 2012 and 2021 from the Web of Science Core Collection database. We downloaded the entire data and utilized CiteSpace version 5.8.R3 (64-bit) to analyze the number of publications annually, cited journals, countries, institutions, authors, cited authors, cited references, and keywords. We visualized the data with a knowledge map, collaborative network analysis, cluster analysis, and strongest citation burst analysis., Results: We obtained 14,007 papers with a continually increasing trend over time. The most productive country and institute in this field were the United States (4,308) and Northwestern University (236), respectively. Dysphagia (5,062) and Laryngoscope (2,812) were the most productive journals, Elizabeth Ward had the highest number of publications (84), and Logeman et al.'s article (centrality: 0.02) was the most referenced. The most common keywords were dysphagia, management, quality of life, deglutition disorder, diagnosis, aspiration, prevalence, children, outcome, and oropharyngeal dysphagia., Conclusion: This study analyzed the current literature on dysphagia via CiteSpace and identified its research hot spots and frontiers. Remediation of environmental toxic pollutants has attracted extensive attention in recent years. Microbial bioremediation has been an important technology for removing toxic pollutants. However, microbial activity is also susceptible to toxicity stress in the process of intracellular detoxification, which significantly reduces microbial activity. Electroactive microorganisms (EAMs) can detoxify toxic pollutants extracellularly to a certain extent, which is related to their unique extracellular electron transfer (EET) function. In this review, the extracellular and intracellular aspects of the EAMs' detoxification mechanisms are explored separately. Additionally, various strategies for enhancing the effect of extracellular detoxification are discussed. Finally, future research directions are proposed based on the bottlenecks encountered in the current studies. Teamwork is a vital aspect of human life, including a set of concrete behaviors which could be divided into various categories such as task performance, job dedication, backing up behavior, and monitoring. As an essential psychological factor could form team members to adapt to environmental changes, self-regulation has a marked impact on teamwork results. However, why self-regulation could affect results of teamwork in real life and how self-regulation influence the concrete teamwork behaviors remains unclear. This study recorded and extracted participants' detailed gaming behaviors in Defense of the Ancients 2 (DOTA 2), which is an example of real-life teamwork scenario. The sample consisted of 59 DOTA 2 players with relative low-level self-regulation (93.22% male) and 59 with relative high-level self-regulation (96.61% male). Controlling confounding factors, we explored behavioral differences between the two groups in different types of heroes. Results showed that self-regulation influenced specific gaming behaviors including the categories of task performance, job dedication, and backing up behavior, but not including monitoring. Additionally, these impacts of self-regulation varied by hero type. These results demonstrate the different impacts of self-regulation on different categories of teamwork behaviors, and these impacts are considerably determined by individual's role in the team. The gut microbiota affects many aspects of host biology and plays key roles in the coevolutionary association with its host. Geographical gradients may play a certain role on gut microbiota variation in the natural environment. However, the distribution pattern of amphibian gut microbiota in the latitudinal gradient remains largely unexplored. Here, we sampled six natural populations of Fejervarya limnocharis along the eastern coastline of mainland China (spanning 20°-30° N = 1,300 km) using 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing to characterize the gut microbiota. First of all, a significant correlation between gut microbial diversity and latitude was observed in our research system. Second, we discovered that latitude influenced the composition of the gut microbiota of F. limnocharis . Finally, we detected that geographical distance could not determine gut microbiota composition in F. limnocharis . These results indicate that latitude can play an important role in shaping the gut microbial diversity of amphibian. Root chemical traits play a critical role in plant resource use strategies and ecosystem nutrient cycling; however, the chemical diversity of multiple elements of fine root and community chemical assembly belowground are poorly understood. Here, we measured 13 elements (C, N, K, Ca, Mg, S, P, Al, Fe, Na, Mn, Zn, and Cu) in the fine roots of 204 plant species along elevational transect from 540 to 2357 m of Changbai Mountain, China to explore the variation, diversity, and community assembly of root chemical traits. At the species level, the concentrations of macronutrients (N, K, Ca, Mg, S, and P) decreased, whereas the trace metals (Fe, Mn, and Zn) increased with elevation. Root chemical traits at the community level systematically shifted along elevational gradients showing a pattern similar to that at the species level, which were mainly influenced by climate and soil rather than species diversity. In general, the interactions of climate and soil were the main drivers of root chemical assembly for woody layers, whereas soil factors played significant role for root chemical assembly for herb layer. The chemical assembly of rock-derived element P was mainly driven by soil factors. Meanwhile, root chemical diversities were mainly regulated by species diversity, the interactions of climate and soil, and soil factors in the tree, shrub, and herb layers, respectively. Psychostimulants, such as methamphetamine (METH) can induce structural remodeling of synapses by remodeling presynaptic and postsynaptic morphology. Escalating or long-lasting high dose METH accounts for neurodegeneration by targeting multiple neurotransmitters. However, the effects of low dose METH on synaptic structure and the modulation mechanism remain elusive. This study aims to assess the effects of low dose (2 mg/kg) and high dose (10 mg/kg) of METH on synaptic structure alternation in hippocampus and prefrontal cortex (PFC) and to reveal the underlying mechanism involved in the process. Low dose METH promoted spine formation, synaptic number increase, post-synaptic density length elongation, and memory function. High dose of METH induced synaptic degeneration, neuronal number loss and memory impairment. Moreover, high dose, but not low dose, of METH caused gliosis in PFC and hippocampus. Mechanism-wise, low dose METH inactivated ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac1) and activated cell division control protein 42 homolog (Cdc42); whereas high dose METH inactivated Cdc42 and activated Rac1. Small open reading frames (sORFs) can encode functional polypeptides or act as cis -translational regulators in stress responses in eukaryotes. Their number and potential importance have only recently become clear in plants. In this study, we identified a novel sORF gene in sweet potato, IbEGF , which encoded the 83-amino acid polypeptide containing an EGF&#95;CA domain. The expression of IbEGF was induced by PEG6000, H 2 O 2 , abscisic acid (ABA), methyl-jasmonate (MeJA) and brassinosteroid (BR). The IbEGF protein was localized to the nucleus and cell membrane. Under drought stress, overexpression of IbEGF enhanced drought tolerance, promoted the accumulation of ABA, MeJA, BR and proline and upregulated the genes encoding superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) and peroxidase (POD) in transgenic sweet potato. The IbEGF protein was found to interact with IbCOP9-5α, a regulator in the phytohormone signalling pathways. Background: Atrial fibrillation detected after stroke (AFDAS) is associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke (IS) recurrence and death. Early diagnosis can help identify strategies for secondary prevention and improve prognosis. However, there are no validated predictive tools to assess the population at risk for AFDAS. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for assessing the incidence of AFDAS after acute ischemic stroke (AIS)., Methods: This study was a multicenter retrospective study. We collected clinical data from 5332 patients with AIS at two hospitals between 2014.01 and 2021.12 and divided the development and validation of clinical prediction models into a training cohort ( n = 3173) and a validation cohort ( n = 2159). Characteristic variables were selected from the training cohort using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm and multivariable logistic regression analysis. A nomogram model was developed, and its performance was evaluated regarding calibration, discrimination, and clinical utility., Results: We found the best subset of risk factors based on clinical characteristics and laboratory variables, including age, congestive heart failure (CHF), previous AIS/transient ischemia attack (TIA), national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) score, C-reactive protein (CRP), and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP). A predictive model was developed. The model showed good calibration and discrimination, with calibration values of Hosmer-Lemeshow χ 2 = 4.813, P = 0.732 and Hosmer-Lemeshow χ 2 = 4.248, P = 0.834 in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.815, 95% CI (0.777-0.853) and 0.808, 95% CI (0.770-0.847). The inclusion of neuroimaging variables significantly improved the performance of the integrated model in both the training cohort (AUC. 0.846 (0.811-0.882) vs. 0.815 (0.777-0.853), P = 0.001) and the validation cohort (AUC: 0.841 (0.804-0.877) vs. 0.808 (0.770-0.847), P = 0.001). Background: Alcohol dependence (AD) is a complex addictive disorder with a high relapse rate. Previous studies have shown that both repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) may be effective for AD, and we aim to explore more effective treatment options to reduce relapse rates for AD., Materials and Methods: A total of 263 AD patients were recruited. They were divided into six groups according to the location and the type of rTMS: left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), right DLPFC, sham stimulation, and whether they received CBT treatment: with a fixed schedule (C1) and without a fixed plan (C0). There were included in sham rTMS + C0 group ( n = 50), sham rTMS + C1 group ( n = 37), right rTMS + C0 group ( n = 45), right rTMS + C1 group ( n = 42), left rTMS + C0 group ( n = 49), left rTMS + C1 group ( n = 40). We used obsessive compulsive drinking scale (OCDS), visual analogue scale (VAS), alcohol dependence scale (ADS), montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA), generalized anxiety disorder-7 (GAD-7), patient health questionnaire-9 items (PHQ-9), and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) to assess alcohol cravings, alcohol dependence, cognition, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality. They were followed up and evaluated for relapse., Results: The sham rTMS + C0 group relapse rate was significantly higher than the right rTMS + C1 group ( P = 0.006), the left rTMS + C0 group ( P = 0.031), the left rTMS + C1 group ( P = 0.043). The right rTMS + C0 group showed significantly higher relapse rate compared to the right rTMS + C1 group ( P = 0.046). There was no significant difference in relapse rates between other groups. The repeated-measures ANOVA showed an interaction effect between group and time was significant in the rate of patient health questionnaire-9 items (PHQ-9) scale reduction ( P = 0.020). Logistic analysis indicated that smoking and alcohol consumption were independent determinants of relapse ( P < 0.05). At 24 weeks of follow-up, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis reveal that there is statistically significant relapse rate between six groups ( P = 0.025), left rTMS + C1 group has the best treatment effect for alcohol dependent patients. Schizophrenia (SCZ) acts as a complex and burdensome disease, in which the functional outcome can be validly predicted by cognitive impairment, as one of the core features. However, there still lack considerable markers of cognitive deficits in SCZ. Based on metabolomics, it is expected to identify different metabolic characteristics of SCZ with cognitive impairment. In the present study, 17 SCZ patients with cognitive impairment (CI), 17 matched SCZ patients with cognitive normal (CN), and 20 healthy control subjects (HC) were recruited, whose plasma metabolites were measured using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). The result of metabolic profiling indicated the identification of 46 differentially expressed metabolites between HC, CN, and CI groups, with 7 differentially expressed metabolites between CN and CI groups. Four differential metabolites (imidazolepropionic acid, Homoserine, and Aspartic acid) were repeatedly found in both screenings, by which the formed biomarker panel could discriminate SCZ with cognitive impairment from matched patients (AUC = 0.974) and health control (AUC = 0.841), respectively. Several significant metabolic pathways were highlighted in pathway analysis, involving Alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism, D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism, and Citrate cycle (TCA cycle). This study develops a short Creative Expression Interest Scale (CEIS) among Chinese freshmen based on the perspective of item response theory (IRT). Nine hundred fifty-nine valid Chinese freshmen participated in the Creative Expression Interest survey. Researchers applied the initial data for unidimensionality, item fit, discrimination parameter, and differential item functioning to obtain a short CEIS. The results show that the Short CEIS meets the psychometric requirements of the IRT. Pearson correlation coefficient of theta between the short and long CEIS is 0.922. The marginal reliability of the short CEIS is 0.799. These indicate that the short CEIS developed in this study among Chinese freshmen, meets the psychometric requirements. Although the Short CEIS can eliminate redundant, uninformative items, save time, and improve the quality of data collection. The recent methodological advances in multi-omics approaches, including genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, lipidomic, and proteomic, have revolutionized the research field by generating "big data" which greatly enhanced our understanding of the molecular complexity of the brain and disease states. Network approaches have been routinely applied to single-omics data to provide critical insight into disease biology. Furthermore, multi-omics integration has emerged as both a vital need and a new direction to connect the different layers of information underlying disease mechanisms.
