Öğretim programlarında yer almasıyla birlikte matematiksel modellemenin öğretiminde öğretmen yeterlikleri tartışılan konulardan biri olmuştur. Öğretmenlerin bu yeterliklere ne düzeyde sahip olduklarını belirlemek için kullanılabilecek yöntemlerden biri matematiksel modelleme problemi hazırlama becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Bu araştırmada matematiksel modelleme eğitimi verilen 6 matematik öğretmeninin problem hazırlama süreçleri incelenmiştir. Çoklu durum çalışması olarak tasarlanan çalışmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış mülakatlar, problem seti değerlendirme formu ve matematiksel modelleme eğitimi video kayıtları ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde açık ve eksensel kodlama ile içerik analizi yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları öğretmenlerin problem hazırlama sürecinde başarılı performans sergilemelerine rağmen birtakım zorluklar yaşadıklarını; bu zorlukların genel olarak matematiksel modelleme problemlerinin özelliklerinin farklı algılanmasından kaynaklandığını göstermiştir. Öğretmenlerin özellikle matematik ile gerçek yaşam arasında ilişki kurmada başarılı oldukları, problem hazırlarken öncelikli olarak varsayımlara dayalı, yoruma açık ve düşündürücü olma kriterlerini dikkate aldıkları tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, matematiksel modellemenin sınıf ortamına taşınmasında öğretmen yeterliklerinin önemli bir rol oynadığını, bu sebeple matematiksel modellemenin öğretiminde öğretmenlerin teorik ve pratik bilgi eksikliklerinin giderilmesinin öncelikli konular arasında yer alması gerektiğini göstermektedir. Teachers' competencies for teaching mathematical modeling are being one of the discussed topics that is infused in the math curriculum. One of the methods that can be used to determine the level of teachers' competencies is to examine the process of posing mathematical modeling problems. In this study, process of posing problem by 6 mathematics teachers who had mathematical modeling training is investigated. The current study is designed as a multiple case study and data are collected through semi-structured interviews, the assessment form of problem set, and mathematical modeling training video recordings. Data are analyzed by using open and axial coding and content analysis methodologies. The results of study showed that teachers performed successfully at posing problem process while having various challenges that were based on misconceptions about criteria of mathematical modeling. It is identified that teachers were successful at connecting mathematics and real life. Also, assumption, interpretation, and complexity were top criteria that they considered while preparing a problem. Results reveal that teachers' competencies are significant at utilizing mathematical modeling in classroom. Therefore, eliminating lack of teachers' theoretical and practical knowledge about mathematical modeling has to be in prior subjects for teaching mathematical modeling. 212

Günümüzde kürelleşme ve rekabet kullanıcı odaklı tasarımı gerektirmektedir. Son yıllarda kullanılabilirlik çok önemli bir konu haline gelmiştir. Kullanıcı perfomansı ile birlikte kullanıcı memnuniyeti düşünüldüğünde, kullanılabilirlik bugünün rekabetçi pazarında ürün başarasını belirleyen anahtarlardan birisidir. Bu çalışmada Dijital TV platformlarının seçilme nedeni kullanılabilirlik konusunun platformlar için de esas olmasıdır. Platformlarla yakın etkileşimde olan kullanıcılar için kullanılabilir bir dijital platform tasarlamak çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmada 3 farklı Dijital TV platformu seçilmiş ve onların kullanılabilirliği incelenmiştir. Farklı Digital TV platformlarının kullanılabilirliği karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, 14 kullanıcı (karar verici) bu platformları değerlendirmiştir. Dijital TV platformlarını değerlendirmede performans beklentileri kullanılmıştır. En iyi alternatif çok kriterli karar verme yöntemi olan Analitik Hiyerarşi Prosesi (AHP) ile belirlenmiştir Globalization and the competition necessitate the user-oriented design today. In the last years, usability has become a very important research subject. Usability, considering user satisfaction along with the user performance, is one of the key factors in determining the success of a product in today's competitive market. Digital TV platforms are selected for this study since usability is highly important for them. Designing a usable Digital TV platform is extremely important for users who have close interaction with them. In this study, 3 different Digital TV platforms are selected and their usability is analyzed. Different Digital TV platforms are compared in terms of their usability. In this context, fourteen users (decision makers) evaluate three different Digital TV platforms. The usability criteria used in Digital TV platforms evaluation is created one category: performance expectations. The best alternative is determined with a robust multi-criteria decision making method that is Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). 49

Pelvik kemik yapısı, iskelet sistemimizin temelini oluşturur ve bu yapının radyolojik ve ortopedik olarak doğru değerlendirilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu yapının değerlendirilmesinde ve Pelvik kemik hastalıklarının tanı ve tedavi sürecinde bazı Asetabulum açılarından yararlanılır. Bu çalışmada, hem Pelvik kemik yapısı ile ilgili yeni bir tıbbi açı ölçüm metodu tanımlanmış, hem de bu yeni geliştirilen tıbbi metodun teknik gösterimi olarak tamamen otomatik olarak çalışan yeni bir açı ölçüm metodu geliştirilmiştir. Bu otomatik açı ölçüm metodu, Pelvik kemik yapılarının bölütlenmesi ve Pelvik açılarının otomatik ölçümü olarak iki kısımdan oluşmaktadır. Pelvik kemik yapılarının bölütlenmesi için İşaretçi tabanlı Watershed bölütleme metodu ve Zernike moment şekil tanımlayıcı metodlarının birlikte kullanılması ile Obturator gözlerinin tamamen otomatik olarak bölütlenmesi sağlanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın ikinci kısmını ise Asetabular açılarının tam otomatik olarak ölçümü oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Asetabular açılarının, sağlıklı hastalar için normal tıbbi açı ölçüm değerleri, hem uzmanların elle ölçüm metodu hem de geliştirilen yeni otomatik açı ölçüm metodu için ayrı ayrı bulunmuştur. Aynı zamanda, erişkinlerde ve çocuklarda kalça çıkığı hastalıkları olan hastalar için her iki açı ölçüm metodu kullanılarak açı ölçüm sonuçları elde edilmiştir. Önerilen açı ölçüm metodunun ilk kısmını oluşturan Obturator gözlerinin bölütlemesi metodu 100 görüntü üzerinde denenmiş ve bölütleme başarım doğruluk yüzdesi %96 olarak elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, otomatik açı ölçüm metodunun değerlendirilmesinde, uzmanların elle yaptıkları ölçüm sonuçları ve otomatik açı ölçüm metodu sonuçları arasında istatistiksel olarak her ölçüm sonucu için p >0.005 değeri elde edilmiştir. Dolayısıyla, uzmanların ölçümleri ve otomatik açı ölçüm metodunun sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Bu çalışmanın sonucunda, farklı Pelvik kemik hastalıklarının uzmanlar tarafından doğru değerlendirilmesi için klinik ortamda kullanılabilir, tam otomatik olarak çalışan yeni bir tıbbi açı ölçüm metodu geliştirilmiştir. Pelvic bone structure is the fundamental part of our skeletal system and the accuracy of radiological and orthopaedical evaluation of this system is very important. Asetabulum angles are used for the evaluation of this structure and the diagnosing and treatment phases of Pelvic bone diseases.In this study, both a new medical angle measurement method is defined and a new fully automated angle measurement method for this medical method is developed. This automated method consists of two parts as the segmentation of Pelvic bone structure and the automated measurement for Pelvic angles. The fully automated segmentation method for Obturator Foramen is developed with the integrated usage of the Marker-based Watershed segmentation method and Zernike moment feature descriptor for Pelvic bone structure segmentation. The second part of this study is the automated measurement of the Asetabulum angles. In this study, the Asetabulum angles are measured both with the traditional method by clinicians and by the automated method for the healty patients and then the normal medical measurements are extracted separately. Also, the angle measurement results are obtained by using two angle measurement methods for patients which have hip dysplasia for adults and children The first part of the proposed angle measurement method which is the segmentation of Obturator foramen is tested on 100 Pelvic X-ray image and the segmentation accuracy is obtained %96. Also, the evaluation of the automated angle measurement method is performed by statistically and p >0.005 value is obtained between the manual angle measurements and the results of the automated angle measurement method for each angle measurement. Therefore, there isn't any significant difference between the manual angle measurements and the automated angle measurement method. As a result of this study, a new fully automated angle measurement method is developed for accurate diagnosing and treatment of different Pelvic bone diseases by clinicians. 129

In order to satisfy the need in housing, number of multistory housing buildings have increased with the advancements in construction and architectural design techniques. Accordance with the advancements in technology, the needs of the individuals and the concepts of house have been altered. The multistory residential buildings have differ in order to satisfy the needs of the tenants in respect to the specific time periods; 1980 to 1990, 1990 to 2000, and 2000-2013.The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate and compare the 13-25 story residential buildings' sustainability, earthquake durability and accessibility factors within their respected time period.According to the findings of this thesis, the advancements in sustainability, earthquake durability and accessibility has increased rapidly over the recent years and the factors determine said increase has been witnessed in various case studies. 163
