Abstract

The article discusses a pilot study of university student reading experience in relation to critical and empathetic engagement, as well as the impact of the ecology of hasty reading on experience of literary value. It examines the conditions of ecology of reading including reading requirements, media of texts and course load. The study also explores the perceived impact of reading habits on perception of learning, empathy, aesthetic pleasure, literary appreciation and immersive reading.
