Background: COVID-19 vaccination is one of the pivotal key tools against the ongoing pandemic, but its acceptance relies on efficacy and safety data among various populations, including patients with cancers. However, there is limited data on seroconversion rates, efficacy, and safety of the COVID-19 vaccine in patients with cancer. Breakthrough infections after vaccination have also been reported, which could further strengthen the refusal behavior of specific populations to be immunized. Our objective was to investigate the efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccination in real-world patients with advanced genitourinary cancers., Methods and Results: A retrospective study of the 738 patients with advanced metastatic genitourinary malignancy was conducted at our genitourinary oncology clinic from October 2020 to September 2021, out of which 462 patients (62.6%) were vaccinated. During the study period, two vaccinated, and six unvaccinated patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 (breakthrough infection rate: 0.4% vs. 2.2%, p = 0.027). Vaccine protection against infection was 81.8% (95% CI: 0.04-0.98). One vaccinated and 4 unvaccinated patients were hospitalized due to COVID-19 (0.2% vs. 1.4%, p = 0.048). Vaccine effectiveness in preventing hospitalization was 85.7% (95% CI: 0.02-1.33). Within one month of vaccination, 1.5% of patients (n = 7) had emergency visits, 0.8% (n = 4) were hospitalized for any reason, and of these, 3 (0.6%) experienced a delay in the receipt of their cancer therapy., Conclusion: In our hypothesis-generating data among patients with advanced genitourinary cancers, COVID-19 vaccination was efficacious and safe and was rarely associated with treatment disruptions. These data should help improve the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine in the general population and patients with cancer. Land use changes such as deforestation and urban development influences the river discharge, soil erosion and sediment yield. It is important to evaluate tools which can be used to assess such impacts on water and sediment yield. Therefore, this study evaluated the Annualized Agricultural Non-Point Source Pollutant (AnnAGNPS) model's performance in simulating runoff and sediment loads in Nan Province, Thailand using seven years of continuous monitoring data. The river discharge and sediment yield data from 2011-2013 were used for calibration, and data from 2014-2017 were used for validation. Several input parameters were computed using methods suggested by other researchers and previous studies. In this study, the runoff curve number, soil erodibility factor (K), and RUSLE-C value were used to accurately simulate runoff and sediment loads. The results indicate that the model satisfactorily simulated runoff and sediment loads (R 2 = 0.65 and NSE = 0.53 for runoff volume, and R 2 = 0.62 and NSE = 0.60 for sediment yields). Moreover, the model estimated the total sediment yield, which contributed 12,932 hundred tons of material to the Nan River in 2017. The maximum sediment yield was obtained below the catchment (Na Noi sub-district, Na Noi district), which corresponds to areas with high crop densities. Cropland generated the highest soil erosion of all investigated land use (87.52% of total soil erosion). Emissions from landfills are a significant source of non-methane volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs) in urban environments. NMVOCs play an important role in atmospheric chemistry, and elevated concentrations of some compounds are responsible for air quality deterioration. This study is based on the measurements of a suite of 20 C 2 -C 8 NMVOCs at 21 upwind and downwind sites of the largest landfill in western India. Ethane, ethylene and aromatics were the dominant compounds; the concentrations of BTEX in the downwind regions were up to three times higher than their concentrations at upwind sites. The emission ratios of BTEX and other NMVOCs were different from those for residential, commercial, and industrial sources characterizing the emissions from burning and decomposition of organic material. The slope of ΔToluene/ΔBenzene of 0.64 is about three times higher than that determined at the main road junctions of the city. Ranking by Prop-Equiv, the top NMVOCs were isoprene, cis-2-Butene, m + p-xylenes, propylene, ethylene and trans-2-Butene account for 72-75% of the total Prop-Equiv concentrations. Alkenes played the dominant role in ozone formation, followed by aromatic and alkane groups. In addition to landfill emissions, contributions from traffic-related emissions to ambient concentrations of aromatic VOCs were also significant at some sites. Although the experiment was not designed to characterize the emissions from a specific source, the analysis suggests the substantial contributions from both decomposition and burning of landfill materials.
