Objective The aim of study was to demonstrate that transcutaneous intralesional injection of Triamcinolone Acetonide (TA) under fibrolaryngoscopy could be an option for persistent granulation after Transoral Laser Microsurgery (TLM) in glottic cancer patients. Methods We recruited 32 patients, who had conservative treatment but failed. 20 patients accepted TA injection monthly until the granulation disappeared or did not shrink further. 12 patients chose to closely monitor. Results For the 20 patients, 17 (85.0%) patients’ granulations completely disappeared. 3 (15.0%) patients’ granulations had reduced 80%. For the 12 patients, 3 (25.0%) patients’ granulations disappeared but 9 (75%) patients’ granulations did not have an obvious change. Recurrence was not observed. Conclusion Our experience showed that transcutaneous intralesional TA injection for persistent granulation after TLM through cricothyroid membrane is an efficient, security, harmless and low recurrence method. Especially suitable for huge granulation which blocks the glottis and recur after a second operation.

To investigate the effect of Qili Qiangxin Capsule combined with cardiac exercise rehabilitation on patients with chronic heart failure (CHF).A total of 93 CHF patients admitted to Shanghai's Putuo District Central Hospital from March 2021 to December 2021 were included in the study and were randomly divided into the control group (46 cases) and the intervention group (47 cases). The control group received routine treatment, and the intervention group was treated with Qili Qiangxin Capsule as well as cardiac exercise rehabilitation that was routine for patients with CHF. The total effective rate, 6-min walking distance, left ventricular ejection fraction, B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) level, left ventricular end-systolic diameter, and left ventricular end-diastolic diameter were compared in terms of the two groups.After three months of treatment, when compared with the control group, the total effective rate of the treatment on the patients in the intervention group increased significantly (87.23% vs 63.04%; P 0.05). The 6-minute walking distance, BNP level, and the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter improved more drastically in the intervention group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P 0.05). There was no significant difference in the other indicators before and after treatment (P 0.05).Qili Qiangxin Capsule combined with cardiac exercise rehabilitation can significantly improve cardiac and motor function in patients with CHF.

The research on the structure of advanced electrode materials is significant in the field of supercapacitors. Herein, for the first time, we propose a novel 3D/3D composite structure by a multi-step process, in which 3D hollow NiCo LDH nanocages are immobilized on 3D sea urchin-like CoO microspheres. Results show that the 3D CoO acts as an efficient and stable channel for ion diffusion, while the hollow NiCo LDH provides abundant redox-active sites. The calculated results based on density function theory (DFT) show that the CoO@NiCo LDH heterostructure has an enhanced density of states (DOS) near the Fermi level and strong adsorption capacity for OH

The strength of phylogeographic breaks can vary among species in the same area despite being subject to the same geological and climate history due to differences in biological traits. Several important phylogeographic breaks exist around the Sichuan Basin in Southwest China but few studies have focused on wind-dispersed plants. Here, we investigated the phylogeographic patterns and the evolutionary history of Populus lasiocarpa, a wind-pollinated and wind-dispersed tree species with a circum-Sichuan Basin distribution in southwest China. We sequenced and analyzed three plastid DNA fragments (ptDNA) and eight nuclear microsatellites (nSSRs) of 265 individuals of P. lasiocarpa from 21 populations spanning the entire distribution range. Distribution patterns based on nSSR data revealed that there are three genetic groups in P. lasiocarpa. This is consistent with the three phylogeographic breaks (Sichuan Basin, the Kaiyong Line and the 105°E line), where the Sichuan basin acts as the main barrier to gene flow between western and eastern groups. However, the distribution pattern based on ptDNA haplotypes poorly matched the phylogeographic breaks, and wind-dispersed seeds may be one of the main contributing factors. Species distribution modelling suggested a larger potential distribution in the last glacial maximum with a severe bottleneck during the last interglacial. A DIYABC model also suggested a population contraction and expansion for both western and eastern lineages. These results indicate that biological traits are likely to affect the evolutionary history of plants, and that nuclear molecular markers, which experience higher levels of gene flow, might be better indicators of phylogeographic breaks.

Sichuan sun vinegar (SSV) is a traditional Chinese vinegar with a unique flavor and it is fermented with bran as the main raw material. In the present study, we explored the bacterial community succession in fermented grains (Cupei) during SSV production. High-throughput sequencing results showed that bacterial community richness and diversity peaked on day 7 of fermentation. Lactobacillus and Acetobacter were the dominant bacteria throughout the fermentation process. However, Acetobacter, Cupriavidus, Sphingomonas, Pelomonas, and Lactobacillus were the most abundant genera in the late phase of fermentation on day 17. The boundaries of trilateral co-fermentation were determined through cluster analysis. Days 1-3 were considered the early fermentation stage (starch saccharification), days 5-11 were the middle fermentation stage (alcoholic fermentation), and days 13-17 represented the late fermentation stage (acetic acid fermentation). Changes in flavor compounds during Cupei fermentation were subsequently analyzed and a total of 86 volatile compounds, 9 organic acids, and 17 amino acids were detected. Although acetic acid, lactic acid, alcohols, and esters were the main metabolites, butyrate was also detected. Correlation analysis indicated that 20, 21, and 28 microorganisms were positively correlated with the abundance of amino acids, organic acids, and volatile flavor compounds, respectively. We further explored the microbial and metabolic mechanisms associated with the dominant volatile flavor compounds during SSV fermentation. Collectively, the findings of the current study provide detailed insights regarding the fermentation mechanisms of SSV, which may prove relevant for producing high-quality fermented products.
