11. Global optimization energy management for multi-energy source vehicles based on 'Information layer - Physical layer - Energy layer- Dynamic programming' (IPE-DP)

Abstract

To reveal the energy-saving mechanisms of global energy management, we propose a global optimization framework of "information layer-physical layer-energy layer-dynamic programming " (IPE-DP), which can realize the unity of different information scenarios, different vehicle configurations and energy conversions. The deterministic dynamic programing (DP) and adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) are taken as the core algorithms. As a benchmark for assessing the optimality, DP strategy has four main challenges: standardization, real-time application, accuracy, and satisfactory drivability. To solve the above problems, the IPE-DP optimization framework is established, which consists of three main layers, two interface layers and an application layer. To be specific, the full-factor trip information is acquired from three scenarios in the information layer, and then the feasible work modes of the vehicle are determined in the physical layer based on the proposed conservation framework of "kinetic/potential energy & onboard energy ". The above lays a foundation for the optimal energy distribution in the energy layer. Then, a global domain-searching algorithm and action dependent heuristic dynamic programming (ADHDP) model are developed for different information acquisition scenarios to obtain the optimal solution. To improve the computational efficiency under the deterministic information, a fast DP is developed based on the statistical rules of DP behavior, the core of which is to restrict the exploring region based on a reference SOC trajectory. Regarding the stochastic trip information, the ADHDP model is established, including determining the utility function, network design and training process. Finally, two case studies are given to compare the economic performance of the vehicle under different information acquisition scenarios, which lays a foundation for analyzing the relationship between the amount of information input and energy-saving potential of the vehicl, QC 20220411

Abstract

Dynamic programming (DP), as a typical global optimization method, requires the prior knowledge of the future driving conditions. To standardize the DP optimizing process, a hierarchical optimization framework of “information layer - physical layer - energy layer - dynamic programming” (IPE-DP) is proposed. The trip information, as the prerequisite for implementing global optimization energy management, is acquired in the information layer. Firstly, full-factor trip information, including the vehicle speed, slope and slip rate, is acquired from three scenarios: deterministic information, information with constraints and information supported by historical data. If only the relevant constraints are available, a “drivers-vehicles-roads” full-factor constraint model is proposed to limit the trip information. Then, information entropy is introduced to measure the uncertainty of the trip information. Particularly, for information with constraints, the independence of various constraints ensures the additivity of the entropy as quantified by the drivers, vehicles and roads. Based on the above, the amount of information to be transmitted is analyzed at the end. To a certain extent, the proposed constraint model can lower the limit on data transfer rate. Furthermore, information entropy provides a theoretical basis for determining the amount of information required to optimize vehicle fuel economy and regional energy consumption.

Abstract

Poplar (Populus spp.) is a high-economic-value tree species around the world. However, poplar trees are damaged by canker disease caused by Valsa sordida. In our previous study, an antagonistic bacterial strain of Streptomyces sioyaensis (No. F57) against V. sordida was isolated, however the antifungal mechanisms by which S. sioyaensis (No. F57) suppress the poplar canker pathogen V. sordida remains unclear. In the present study, S. sioyaensis (No. F57) fermentation broth significantly inhibited mycelial growth. The inhibition rate for mycelial dry weight and colony growth after 3 days was 89.27% and 83.94%, respectively. Spore germination of the pathogen was greatest inhibited 78.30% at 6 h. In vivo biocontrol assays, the disease index of poplar canker treated with S. sioyaensis (No. F57) fermentation broth was significantly reduced compared with the control. At concentrations of 10-fold diluent of fermentation broth, the control effect was up to 78.08%. The fermentation broth also increased mycelia electrical conductivity and the accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA). The enzyme activities of succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase in the tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA cycle), Hexokinase (HK), Phosphofructokinase (PFK) and pyruvate kinase (PK) in the glycolytic pathway, and Glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were all disrupted in the pathogen mycelia treated with S. sioyaensis (No. F57) fermentation broth. These result revealed that S. sioyaensis (No. F57) inhibited V. sordida by increasing the cell permeability and disrupting the metabolic pathways of the pathogen. Thus, S. sioyaensis (No. F57) can be a potent biocontrol agent for poplar canker disease management in application.

Abstract

The synthesis of 3,5-disubstituted 1,2,4-oxadiazoles by the cyclocondensation of amidoximes with trifluoroacetic anhydride or benzoic acid derivatives in moderate to high yields is described. The study on the phase transition behavior has disclosed that some of the synthesized oxadiazoles show smectic or nematic phases depending on their structures, which have the high potential application as liquid crystalline monomers.

Abstract

Since Bacillus cereus is one of the important foodborne pathogens, it is interesting to investigate the biosafety of Bacillus spp. and B. cereus in ready-to-eat cereals marketed local supermarkets. For this investigation, the prevalence and enumeration of Bacillus spp. and B. cereus were assayed using MPN-PCR method. Results showed that 78% of the processed cereal products intended for direct consumption were positive for the presence of B. cereus with concentrations ranging from as low as 30 MPN/g to more than 24,000 MPN/g. The concentration obtained from this study also reflects on the differences in the contamination level between the infant food, raw cereals, cereal bars, ready-to-eat breakfast cereals and pre-mixed drinks examined. Hence, application of the MPN-PCR method was found to be useful to address the biosafety concerns of B. cereus in ready-to-eat cereals.
