The interaction between gut microbes and gastrointestinal (GI) tract carcinogenesis has always attracted researchers' attention to identify therapeutic targets or potential prognostic biomarkers. Various studies have suggested that the microbiota do show inflammation and immune dysregulation, which led to carcinogenesis in GI tract. In this review, we have focused on the role of microbes present in the gut, intestine, or faeces in GI tract cancers, including esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, and colorectal cancer. Herein, we have discussed the importance of the microbes and their metabolites, which could serve as diagnostic biomarkers for cancer detection, especially in the early stage, and prognostic markers. To maximize the effect of the treatment strategies, an accurate evaluation of the prognosis is imperative for clinicians. There is a vast difference in the microbiota profiles within a population and across the populations depending upon age, diet, lifestyle, genetic makeup, use of antibiotics, and environmental factors. Therefore, the diagnostic efficiency of the microbial markers needs to be further validated. A deeper understanding of the GI cancer and the host microbiota is needed to acquire pivotal information about disease status.

Development of ocular drug delivery system is one of the most technically challenging tasks, when compared with other routes of drug delivery. Eye (an intricate organ) is highly sophisticated and sensitive organ due to presence of various structurally differed anatomical layers, which many times limits the drug delivery approaches. Despite several limitations, many advancements have been made as evidence from various recent studies involving improvement of both residence time and permeation of the drug at the ocular region. In the last few decades, albumin(s) based ophthalmic products have been gained most attention to solve the major challenges associated with conventional ocular drug delivery systems. Interestingly, an albumin-based micro, nano, conjugates, and genetically fused target specific to ligand(s) formulation being exploited through many studies for successful ocular delivery of bioactives (mostly repurposed drugs). Past and current studies suggested that albumin(s) based ocular drug delivery system is multifunctional in nature and capable of extending both drug residence time and sustaining the release of drugs to deliver desired pharmacological outcomes. Despite wide applications, still complete progress made in albumin based ocular drug delivery is limited in literature and missing in market. So, herein we presented an overview to explore the key concepts of albumin-based nanocarrier(s) including strategies involved in the treatment of ocular disease, that have yet to be explored.

The use of face masks aids to stop the transmission of various deadly communicable ailments, and therefore widespread mask wearing habit is advocated by nearly all health organisations including the WHO to curb the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent studies predicted a shocking requirement of masks globally, approximately billions of masks per week in a single country, and maximum of them are disposable masks, which are made up of nonbiodegradable material such as polypropylene. With expanding review on improper masks disposal, it is imperative to perceive this inherent environmental hazard and avert it from resulting in the subsequent problematic situation due to plastic. The shift towards biodegradable biopolymers alternatives such as bacterial cellulose and newly evolving sustainable scientific knowledge would be significant to dealt with upcoming environmental problem. Bacterial cellulose possesses various desirable properties to replace the conventional mask material. This review gives an overview of data about accumulation of waste masks and its potential harm on environment. It also focuses on diverse characteristics of bacterial cellulose which make it suitable material for making mask and the challenges in the way of bacterial cellulose production and their possible solution. The current review also discussed the report on global bacterial cellulose market growth.

With the free and full access to images from Sentinel-2 satellite, the interest to use this data for quantitative retrieval of vegetation parameters is ever-increasing. LAI and chlorophyll are two key variables which are desired for studying productivity, nutrient and stress status of vegetation. Studies carried out on croplands using simulated Sentinel-2 MSI and parametric approach have identified vegetation indices (VIs) with high sensitivity to LAI and chlorophyll. To test how Sentinel-2 red-edge based VIs perform for retrieval of LAI and Chlorophyll of tropical mixed forest canopies, this study has been performed. The field measurements of LAI and chlorophyll content were recorded in a total of 28 ESUs (Elementary Sampling Units) in Bhakra range in the Tarai Central Forest Division, Uttarakhand (India). The in-situ measurements were statistically correlated with Sentinel-2VIs and strength of correlation was validated using Predicted Residual Error Sum of Squares (PRESS) statistic. Through first-principles calculations, we have systematically examined the adsorption of CO2 and NH3 gas molecules on antimonene nanoribbons (SbNRs). The adsorption of CO2 and NH3 molecules on zigzag SbNR (ZSbNR) and armchair SbNR (ASbNR) is modeled with various possible configurations. Adsorption energy (Eads) is calculated to determine the most stable configurations. Electronic properties including band structure, DOS and charge transfer is calculated in order to observe the modification post adsorption. Present findings recommend that CO2 and NH3 gas molecules could be sensed through adsorption on SbNRs via changes in structural and electronic properties.
