A systematic study is presented of equilibrium and liquidus curves of available binary systems A-M, where A are basic elements and M are admixtures, for 50 basic elements. The values of equilibrium distribution coefficients of admixtures k oM A in dilute solution in the range near the pure basic metals were calculated. The correlation curves of k oM A vs. the atomic number were constructed. These correlations enable us to predict the unknown k oM A . The different behaviour of admixtures with complete and incomplete d electron levels was shown. Two independent parabolic approximations describing the periodic dependence of k oM A on the atomic number of admixtures for the basic elements Si, Ge, Ti, Zr and Hf were investigated. There is a relatively good agreement between measured and calculated values of k oM A . The probability of correct prediction of the unknown k oM A for some admixtures has increased accordingly.
