Nb2O5 nanoparticles with an average particle size of 10 nm supported on a rhombic dodecahedral metal organic framework (MOF) were successfully synthesized by a facile one-pot hydrothermal reaction and subsequent calcination process. Experimental results demonstrated that the prepared catalyst drastically improved the hydrogen storage behavior of MgH2. 7 wt% Nb2O5@MOF doped MgH2 started to desorb hydrogen at 181.9 °C and 6.2 wt% hydrogen could be released within 2.6 min and 6.3 min at 275 °C and 250 °C, respectively. The fully dehydrogenated composite also displayed excellent hydrogenation by decreasing the onset absorption temperature to 25 °C and taking up 4.9 wt% and 6.5 wt% hydrogen within 6 min at 175 °C and 150 °C, respectively. Moreover, the corresponding activation energy was calculated to be 75.57 ± 4.16 kJ mol−1 for desorption reaction and 51.38 ± 1.09 kJ mol−1 for absorption reaction. After 20 cycles, 0.5 wt% hydrogen capacity was lost for the MgH2+7 wt% Nb2O5@MOF composite, much lower than 1.5 wt% of the MgH2+7 wt% Nb2O5 composite. However, the addition of Nb2O5@MOF had limited effect on reducing the dehydrogenation enthalpy of MgH2. Microstructure analysis revealed that Nb2O5 particles were uniformly distributed on surface of the MgH2 matrix and synergistically improved the hydrogen storage property of MgH2 with MOF.

The effects of air pollution on discharged patients after ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) still remain uncertain. We examined the association between air pollutants and recurrent cardiovascular events in STEMI survivors.A retrospective cohort of 1641 discharged patients after STEMI was established in 2013 and followed until the end of 2019. Concentrations of air pollutants including fine particles2.5 μm aerodynamic diameter (PMCompared with the first exposure quartile, for short-term exposure, hazard ratios (HRs) of recurrent cardiovascular events associated with the fourth exposure quartiles of PMShort- and long-term exposure to air pollutants except ozone increases the risks of recurrent cardiovascular events in STEMI survivors. Better environmental policies and secondary prevention strategies should be developed to protect STEMI survivors as a susceptible population.

Highlights • The crustal thickness of the Zhongsha Block ranging from ~6 to ~25 km. • Rapid transition from the Zhongsha Block to the adjacent oceanic basins was revealed. • Different oceanic structures were observed in the adjacent oceanic basins. • The pre-rift lithospheric configuration may affect the process of rifting and seafloor spreading. Abstract Continental rifting, break-up, and onset of seafloor spreading are inherently controlled by the segmentation and structure of the continental domain suffering from extension. Today, the Zhongsha Atoll (ZS) is wedged between the Northwest Sub-basin (NWSB) and the Southwest Sub-basin (SWSB), two oceanic abyssal basins of the South China Sea (SCS). The nature of the crust and the structure of the transition from continental to oceanic domain are key to revealing the processes and dynamics during the rifting and break-up of the Zhongsha block. In this paper, we present a P-wave velocity model obtained from both forward modeling and tomographic inversion of wide-angle seismic line OBS2017-2. The results support the continental nature of the Zhongsha Block with a thickness of up to ~25 km. However, the transition from the thick continental domain of the ZS into both adjacent abyssal basins shows clear differences. To the north, a ~120 km wide domain of extended continental crust was observed. Farther north, the NWSB is characterized as a narrow basin with typical oceanic crust. The transitional domain between the continental and oceanic crust shows a ~30–40 km wide region with a high-velocity lower crust reflecting excessive magmatism. In contrast, the SWSB is characterized by a sharp transition from the thick continental crust of the ZS to thin oceanic crust which is probably underlain by serpentinized mantle. The strong rheological properties of the pre-rift crust in the western part of the SCS margin may be the reason that rifting concentrated on narrow rifts and thinning focused on necking domains, while the ZS avoided any intense extension. The configuration of rigid blocks thereafter affected the break-up position and the style of oceanic crust.

Here we have reported a simple and sensitive bio-barcode immunosensor for simultaneous detection of 3-amino-2-oxazolidinone (AOZ), 3-amino-5-morpholinomethyl-2-oxazolidinone (AMOZ), 1-aminohydantoin (AHD), and semicarbazide (SEM) in aquatic products. According to freeze-thaw strategy, four fluorophores (FAM, HEX, ROX, Cy5) labeled single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) were conjugated onto the surface of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with corresponding four nitrofuran metabolites monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for forming four bio-barcode fluorescence immunoprobes. The fluorescence of immunoprobes was quenched by AuNPs. In test progress, the ssDNA with fluorophores were released by adding the dithiothreitol (DTT) and the fluorescence recovered. The immunosensor exhibited sensitive and specific detection of nitrofuran metabolites from 0.05 to 28 μg/L. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.01, 0.02, 0.02, and 0.05 μg/L for AOZ, AMOZ, AHD, and SEM, respectively. The recoveries of four nitrofuran metabolites in spiked aquatic products have been confirmed by UPLC-MS/MS. The bio-barcode based multiplex immunosensor provides a promising strategy for simultaneous detection of multiple targets.

Immune-complex glomerulonephritis (ICGN) is a major cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults and children. Cationic BSA (c-BSA) intravenous injection could produce significant albuminuria within a short time, and is a suitable in vivo experimental animal model to investigate the pathophysiology of ICGN and for drug screening, but lack of thorough study to clarify its dynamic pathophysiological alteration so far, as well as detailed changes in mRNA and LncRNA levels. The purpose of this study is to investigate the dynamic alteration in renal function, lipid metabolism and histopathology during the progress of c-BSA induced ICGN. RNA sequencing was used to identified differentially expressed mRNA and LncRNA in kidney cortex of ICGN. Results demonstrated that c-BSA induced ICGN model could completely exhibit clinical features of immune-mediated nephrotic syndrome with gradual declining renal function, and increased albuminuria and deteriorated histopathological injuries. The correlation analysis suggested that complement activation was the most key element in mediating of ICGN. RNA sequencing using rat kidney tissues combined with Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) data of human glomerulonephritis showed the most enriched KEGG pathways in ICGN were Toll-like receptor signaling pathway, B cell receptor and Focal adhesion. The differential lncRNAs in ICGN rats were also screened, and the lncRNA-mRNA co-expression network was constructed to clarify lncRNA role in molecular mechanism of ICGN progression. Their human homogenous lncRNAs were also identified, such as ST3GAL5-AS1 and DIO3OS, which provide the potential lncRNA targets to treat ICGN. All the differential LncRNAs in ICGN kidneys caused by MMF were also identified and provided another possible pharmacological mechanism of MMF through lncRNA regulation. In summary, the current study firstly described the dynamic physiological changes of c-BSA induced ICGN, identified most key KEGG pathways, and provided lncRNA-mRNA regulatory network in ICGN.

There is a growing interest in the synthesis of electrically conductive cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) for advanced applications, such as supercapacitor, batteries, sensor, and printed electronics. CNC is recognized as an attractive template for the fabrication of functional nanomaterials. Since CNC possesses many attractive properties, it is a sustainable template to prepare conductive nanomaterials, by either coating it with a conductive material or transforming it into carbon nanorods. This review summarizes the utilization of a sustainable and low-cost CNC to produce conductive nanocomposites via an environmentally friendly process. Electroconductive CNCs with enhanced electrical properties, lower electrical percolation threshold, and better mechanical properties can be produced and are attractive systems for many new applications.
