ResumoObjetivosO objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar as características de mulheres com diagnóstico de diabetes gestacional, em 2 anos, separados por uma década.Tipo de estudoEstudo retrospetivo.LocalMaternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa.PopulaçãoGrávidas vigiadas na nossa instituição com diagnóstico de diabetes gestacional nos anos de 2000 (103 mulheres) e 2010 (299 mulheres).MétodosForam comparados 2 grupos de grávidas: as grávidas vigiadas no ano 2000 e as vigiadas em 2010.ResultadosNo ano 2010 verificou-se um aumento estatisticamente significativo das mulheres com naturalidade estrangeira e do nível de escolaridade. O recurso a insulinoterapia para controlo metabólico diminuiu no mesmo grupo, tal como a taxa de cesarianas, tendo-se verificado um aumento da percentagem de mulheres reclassificadas no pós-parto.ConclusõesA maior percentagem de estrangeiras e o aumento da escolaridade média reflete as alterações sociodemográficas que a população residente sofreu. A maior ênfase dada nos últimos anos ao cuidado nutricional permitiu diminuir a insulinoterapia. We established two groups: women from 2000 and 2010.ResultsIn the last decade, there was an increase in the percentage of women of foreign origin and an increase in the scholarity. There was a decrease in the need of insulin and in the percentage of cesareans in 2010. A higher percentage of women in 2010 performed the reclassification test after delivery.ConclusionsThe higher percentage of foreign origin women and of higher scholarity reflects sociodemographic changes that have been experienced in the resident population. An increased attention on the glycemic control over the last years allowed a better metabolic control and a reduction of the insulin use in pregnant women with gestational diabetes.
