Abstract: A 3D metal–organic framework, namely, {[EMIM][In3(μ 3-OH)2(1,2,4,5-BTC)2∙2H2O]} n (1) (1,2,4,5-BTC=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate), was synthesized by using 1-ethyl-3- methylimidazolium bromide ([EMIM]Br) ionic liquid as solvent. The 7-coordinated pentagonal bipyramidal In(1) and octahedral In(2) atoms are connected by the μ 3-OH groups to form an infinite [In3(μ 3-OH)2] n inorganic chain along the a-axis, which are further extended by 1,2,4,5-BTC ligands to generate the 3D anionic microporous framework of 1. The [EMIM]+ cations occupy the 1D channels acting as template and charge-balancing species. Compound 1 shows strong blue luminescence and remarkable photocatalytic degradation of methylthionine chloride. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Two novel 3-D hybrid supramolecular isomers, namely, α-[Cu2(ABPT)2(H2O)2(Mo8O26)] n (1) and β-[Cu2(ABPT)2(H2O)2(Mo8O26)] n ·4nH2O (2), have been successfully isolated from one-pot hydrothermal crystallization and characterized. Single-crystal X-ray diffractions show that the ABPT ligands in compound 1 taking the transoid-configuration to link distorted octahedral copper centers into 1-D metal–organic chains, which are further interlaced by [Cu2(γ-Mo8O26)] inorganic ladder-like chains to generate a 3-D hybrid structure. In 2, the square-pyramidal CuII centers are firstly linked by cisoid-ABPT ligands to give 2-D metal–organic coordination layers, which are connected by [δ-Mo8O26]4− clusters into a 3-D hybrid network. Compounds 1 and 2 both can be regarded as 3,4-connected nets based on nonequivalent nodes with (43.6.86)2(42.6)2(42.84) and (4.82)2(4.82.103)2 topologies, respectively. By careful inspection of the structures of 1 and 2, it is believed that the ligand configuration plays a crucial role for the formation of these two hybrid supramolecular isomers. Abstract: The self-assembly of CuCN and 1H-TAZ ligand under hydrothermal conditions generated a novel three-dimensional hybrid supramolecular framework, namely, [Cu6(TAZ)4(CN)2] n (1) (TAZ=tetrazole). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction show that [Cu2(TAZ)2] binuclear subunits are linked by μ2- and μ3-CN groups to give a 2D double-wave-shaped network, which possesses 1D channels with four open-windows. Abstract: A novel metal–organic coordination polymer, namely, {[K2(H2O)6][Cd3(1,2,4,5-BTC)2]} n (1) (1,2,4,5-BTC=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate), was synthesized in an ionothermal reaction by using an ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([EMIM]Br) as solvent. Complex 1 features a novel 3-D (4,8)-connected porous anionic architecture constructed by linking trinuclear Cd subunits with 1,2,4,5-BTC4− ligands, which are further filled with 1-D [K2(H2O)6] cationic chains. Abstract: The reaction of ligand datrz (3,5-diamino-1,2,4-triazole) with CuI in 1:1 ethanol and water mixed solvent under solvothermal condition gives a novel three-dimensional hybrid solid, [(H3O)2(H2O)4][{Cu6(datrz)6}{(Cu4I4)2O}] (1), which consists of unique six-connected dumb-like Cu4I4–O–Cu4I4 clusters and hexanuclear Cu6(datrz)6 rings. Abstract: A novel 3D coordination polymer [Ag(dmtrz)] (dmtrz=3,5-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazole) (1) was prepared under solvothermal condition and structurally characterized. The crystal structure reveals that Ag(I) centers are firstly linked via dmtrz anions to form an infinite 21 helix, which is further interconnected to four neighboring anti-parallel helices to form a 3D framework with rare non-interpenetrating 8210-a topology. Bi 5 O 7 I belongs to the family of bismuth oxyhalides (BiOX, X = Cl, Br, I), having a unique layered structure with an internal electrostatic field that promotes the separation and transfer of photo-generated charge carriers. Interestingly, Bi 5 O 7 I exhibits higher thermal stability compared to its other BiOX member compounds and absorption spectrum extended to the visible region. Bi 5 O 7 I has demonstrated applications in diverse fields such as photocatalytic degradation of various organic pollutants, marine antifouling, etc. Unfortunately, owing to its wide band gap of ∼2.9 eV, its absorption lies mainly in the ultraviolet region, and a tiny portion of absorption lies in the visible region. Due to limited absorption, the photocatalytic performance of pure Bi 5 O 7 I is still facing challenges. In order to reduce the band gap and increase the light absorption capability of Bi 5 O 7 I, doping and formation of heterostructure strategies have been employed, which showed promising results in the photocatalytic performance. In addition, the plasmonic heterostructures of Bi 5 O 7 I were also developed to further boost the efficiency of Bi 5 O 7 I as a photocatalyst. Here, in this review article, we present such recent efforts made for the advanced development of Bi 5 O 7 I regarding its synthesis, properties and applications. The strategies for photocatalytic performance enhancement have been discussed in detail. Moreover, in the conclusion section, we have presented the current challenges and discussed possible prospective developments in this field. Abstract: The three-dimensional porous framework compound {(H3O)2[Fe2Mo3O13]} n (1) is constructed by self-aggregation of basic subunits of the 14.738(24)Å width one-dimensional belts, which are constructed from self-aggregation of hybrid iron α-molybdena basic units, indicating that a two-dimensional planarity is not an obligatory requirement for achieving the three-dimensional network, as long as the complementary construction mode such as the porous brick-wall mode between the subunits can be achieved.
