Yili River system hosts a diverse fauna of fishes and parasites. Gymnodiptychus dybowskii is a rare and endangered aboriginal cold-water fish inhabit in the Yili river system. Our research identified a new species Gyrodactylus gymnodiptychi n. sp. isolated from G. dybowskii in the Kunes River (Yili River, China). Morphological comparison revealed identifiable differences between the new species and other parasites, including Gyrodactylus aksuensis , and Gyrodactylus tokobaevi , which are two known parasites living in G. dybowskii inhabit in the Aksu River west of Frunze (Kyrgyzstan), as well as Gyrodactylus montanus living in Shizothorax intermedius inhabited in the Tadzhikistan or Uzbekistan. Especially, the dorsal bar of G. gymnodiptychi n. sp. was raised at both ends with a hollow, and its hamulus roots were curved inward. The BLASTN search of GenBank did not detect any other ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 rDNA sequences same as G. gymnodiptychi 's. Using the Bayesian Information and Maximum Likelihood methods to analyze the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 rDNA gene sequences, we constructed phylogenetic trees for G. gymnodiptychi n. sp. Accordingly, our morphological and molecular research indicated that G. gymnodiptychi n. sp. was not only a new species of parasites but also the first Gyrodactylus member identified in the Yili River in China. To investigate Gyrodactylus infection of fish in the river system of Xinjiang (China), Gyrodactylus individuals were isolated from specimens of Diptychus maculatus. Morphological characterization and phylogenetic analysis based on ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 rDNA locus revealed that the gyrodactylids belong to new species. Gyrodactylus diptychi n. sp. differs significantly in the morphology of the haptoral structures from 12 known species of Gyrodactylus found in fishes of the subfamily Schizothoracinae. In particular, G. diptychi n. sp. has a relatively short dorsal bar with thick and large ends, flat and straight hamuli roots, and small ventral bar processes. Furthermore, G. diptychi n. sp. is the only representative of Gyrodactylus found on D. maculatus. Using the BLASTn search of ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 rDNA sequences in GenBank and the Bayesian Information and Maximum Likelihood methods, we constructed phylogenetic trees for G. diptychi n. sp. An efficient asymmetric Michael/cyclization cascade reaction of 4-chromanones with isothiocyanato oxindoles has been revealed. Under bifunctional organocatalysis by rosin-based squaramide catalyst, a series of spiro[oxindole/thiobutyrolactam/chromanone] complexes were conveniently constructed in a highly stereoselective manner (up to 99% yields, > 20:1 dr and >99% ee ). A three-dimensional model was developed based on the experimental test setup to investigate heat and mass transfer in a porous textile under various windy conditions. Coupled conduction, natural and forced convection were modelled by CFD approach. Good agreement of simulated heat flux and thermal conductivity was observed between the experiment and simulation. The velocity and temperature distribution obtained from the model suggested that external cold air can freely enter into the porous structure of textile due to its high porosity and significantly accelerate the interior air movement (ambient wind velocity: 0.1 m/s - 3.0 m/s). Consequently, the thermal insulation of textile was aggravated since the heat transmitting through interior air obviously increased by 210.6% under stronger windy conditions. Differently, the thermal insulation was constant under various windy conditions when the porous textile was covered with a windproof layer. Besides, the heat transfer contributed from fiber and air nearly unchanged with higher wind velocity, demonstrating negligible influence exerted from ambient wind on inner air movement with the help of windproof layer. Helicobacter pylori urease is involved in several physiologic responses such as stomach and duodenal ulcers, adenocarcinomas and stomach lymphomas. Thus, inhibition of urease is taken for a good chance to treat H. pylori -caused infections, we have therefore focused our efforts on seeking novel urease inhibitors. Here, a series of arylpropionylhydroxamic acids were synthesized and evaluated for urease inhibition. Out of these compounds, 3-(2-benzyloxy-5-chlorophenyl)-3-hydroxypropionylhydroxamic acid ( d24 ) was the most active inhibitor with IC 50 of 0.15 ± 0.05 μM, showing a mixed inhibition with both competitive and uncompetitive aspects. Non-linear fitting of kinetic data gives kinetics parameters of 0.13 and 0.12 μg·mL −1 for K i and K i ′, respectively. The plasma protein binding assays suggested that d24 exhibited moderate binding to human and rabbit plasma proteins. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study examines if educators are valuing certain benchmarks of quality (i.e., scaffolding, feedback, curriculum, development team, learning theory) when they select educational apps from app stores and evaluates how they gather information during the selection process. Pre-service and working elementary educators viewed and evaluated app store pages for 10 simulated apps while gaze data (i.e., looking at either the written descriptions or app images) were collected using an eye-tracker. Participants' value-judgements were measured by their willingness to download the app, how much they would pay, their rating, and ranking, while gaze data examined participants' fixation count and fixation duration. Results from paired-samples t -tests, repeated-measures ANOVAs, and nonparametric tests indicate that educators value apps with educational benchmarks over buzzwords, while judging apps with development team, scaffolding, and curriculum higher than those with an integrated learning theory and feedback. Moreover, eye tracking results revealed that educators scrutinize app images more when they feature educational benchmarks. To improve educators' app selection, professional development should target educators' views of learning theory and feedback as well as their use of app images as a source of information on app quality (cf., detailed text descriptions). • An eye tracking study of how educators select educational apps from app stores to determine which apps they value. • Educators value apps containing research-based educational benchmarks over buzzwords. • Learning theory and feedback are the least valued educational benchmarks. • Educators spend more time evaluating text descriptions of apps than studies previously reported. • The apps educators selected reflect their knowledge of evidence-based educational practice. Abstract: Structural and soft magnetic response of nanocrystalline (Fe1−x Co x )73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 (x =0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75) alloys were investigated. Influences of heat treatment and Co content on the crystallization were analyzed through estimation of the crystalline volume fraction V cr and thickness of the intergranular amorphous layer Λ from XRD patterns. High-temperature soft magnetic response was analyzed by the temperature evolution of the magnetic permeability from room temperature to 780°C. It was found that the high-temperature soft magnetic behavior is improved with increasing Co content for x ≤0.5, which is ascribed to reinforcing magnetic coupling between the crystals, however, a decrease of μ i was observed for the Co richest sample. The observed μ i behavior as a function of Co content is interpreted in terms of variations in the degree of exchange coupling. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
