Abstract: Highlights: [•] We investigate effects of ecotourism on the FGCM response of wild gorillas. [•] Two out of three human-contacted groups had higher FGCMs than unhabituated gorillas. [•] FGCMs increased in between contacts up to 21 days in gorillas under habituation. [•] FGCMs in gorillas under habituation increased in the absence of human contact.
