Three new compounds, 17 β -cevanin-6-oxo-5 α ,20 β -diol yibeinine (1), 2-(tetrahydro-5-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2H-pyran-3-yl) phenol (2), 1,3- O -diferuloyl-2-methoxypropane diol (3), as well as four known compounds (4 – 7), have been isolated from the ethanol extract of dried bulbs of Fritillaria pallidiflora Schrenk. All structures were determined based on their spectroscopic data (1D and 2D NMR (including 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 1H-1H COSY, HMBC, HSQC, HSQC-TOCSY, and NOESY experiments), and MS). Biological evaluation showed that compounds 1 – 4 inhibited the production of nitric oxide (NO) in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells with IC 50 values of 18.0, 38.7, 29.5, and 47.1 μM, respectively. [Display omitted] • Review on 345 Pregnane Glycosides and their biological activities. • The pregnane glycosides are classified into two major types based on linkages. • Pregnane glycosides have antitumor activity in recent years. Pregnane glycosides are exist in Asclepiadaceae , Apocynaceae , Malpighiaceae , Ranunculaceae and Zygophyllaceae. This is a class of substances with steroids as the mother nucleus and containing a glyosidic bond structure. Modern pharmacology has shown that these compounds are a class of compounds with different structures and multiple biological activities. It has a good development prospect in anti-cancer and anti-tumor directions. This article reviews the chemical structures and biological activities of 345 compounds from 1984 to 2019. Two new components, stelltian A (1) and stelltian B (2), along with two known compounds, neoboutomannin (3) and 6,9-O-dedimethyltrigonostemone (4), were isolated from the aerial parts of Stelleropsis tianschanica. Their structures were clarified using 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic methods and the HRESIMS spectra. All the isolated compounds were profiled for their antitumor activities against human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) and HeLa cells. Among them, compounds 2–4 have a moderate cytotoxic activity. • Two new diarylheptanoids were isolated from the green walnut husks of Juglans regia L. • Their structure were characterized by extensive 2D-NMR studies. • Compounds 1–4 have a moderate cytotoxic activity on MCF-7 with IC 50 values ranging from 11.4–32.7 μg mL−1. Two new diarylheptanoids, 3- hydroxy- 3′,4″- epoxy- 1- (4′- methoxyphenyl) - 7- (3″- hydroxylphenyl)– heptane (1) and 2,3- dihydroxy- 1- (4′- hydroxy- 3′- methoxyphenyl)- 7- (4″- hydroxyphenyl)– heptanes (2), along with two known compounds, JuglaninB (3) and 4,17- dimethoxy- 2- oxatricyclo [13.2.2.13,7] eicosa- 3,5,7 (20),15,17,18- hexaene- 10,16- diol (4), were isolated from the green husks of Juglans regia L. Their structures were elucidated using1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic methods, HRESIMS, and CD spectra.
