Electrolysis is the process used to produce hydrogen using external electrical energy. Because of less initial and operating cost, less maintenance required, and simple construction, hydrogen production via water electrolysis has gained more attention among users globally. In this current attempt, a novel solar-powered hydrogen generation system was established and tested in different operating circumstances. Throughout the study, nanofluids with concentrations of 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.2% were utilized, and their effect on electrical performance and hydrogen production rate was examined. Compared to conventional solar panels, the usage of nanofluids resulted in a significant improvement in electrical power productivity and hydrogen output rate. The highest electrical efficiency is with a 0.2% volume fraction of CuO/water nanofluids at 13.5% at Noon. During the same period, the lowest and highest hydrogen yield rates are found for the conventional PV module and 0.2% volume fraction CuO/water nanofluids-based system as 7.9 ml/min and 18.2 ml/min, respectively. Abstract: Hyperlipidemia is an associated complication of diabetes and also a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. The present study was designed to examine the antihyperlipidemic effect of asiatic acid (AA) in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced in male Wistar rats by a single intraperitoneal injection of STZ (40mg/kg b.w.). Diabetic rats show increased plasma glucose, total cholesterol, triglycerides, free fatty acids, phospholipids, low density lipoprotein, very low density liprotein, atherogenic index and decreased insulin and high density lipoprotein in diabetic rats. The activity of 3-hydroxy 3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA) reductase increased significantly in contrast to the activities of lipoprotein lipase and lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase. In addition, the molecular docking of AA against HMG CoA reductase involved in cholesterol biosynthesis using Argus software. Diabetic rats were treated with AA shifted all these parameters towards normalcy. AA has shown best ligand binding energy 11.8122kcal/mol. The antihyperlipidemic effect of AA was compared with glibenclamide; a well-known antihyperglycemic drug. In conclusion, this study indicates that AA showed an antihyperlipidemic effect in addition to its antidiabetic effect in experimental diabetes. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The talc-based formulation of Beauveria bassiana (B2 and B4) and Pseudomonas fluorescens (TDK1 and Pf1) strains and its mixture amended with and without chitin were developed and tested for their efficacy against the leafminer insect pest (Aproaerema modicella) and collar rot (or) seedling blight pathogen (Sclerotium rolfsii) in groundnut under glasshouse and field conditions. Application of talc-based formulation of B2+TDK1+Pf1 strains mixture (amended with or without chitin) through seed, soil and foliar spray effectively reduced the incidence of leafminer and collar rot in groundnut compared to individual bioformulation and control treatments both under glasshouse and field conditions. Groundnut leaves when treated with this bioformulation mixture, altered the feeding behavior of leafminer larvae and increased larval mortality under in vitro. Further, a significant increase in growth parameters and yield were observed in groundnut plants treated with B2+TDK1+Pf1 compared to individual bioformulation and untreated control. Increased accumulation of chitinase enzyme was observed in groundnut plants treated with mixture of B2+TDK1+Pf1 against A. modicella and S. rolfsii when compared to other treatments.
