The associated production of a Higgs boson with a $W$ or $Z$ boson decaying into leptons and where the Higgs boson decays to a $b\bar{b}$ pair is measured in the high vector-boson transverse momentum regime, above 250 GeV, with the ATLAS detector. The analysed data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$, were collected in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider between 2015 and 2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. The measured signal strength, defined as the ratio of the measured signal yield to that predicted by the Standard Model, is $0.72 ^{+0.39}_{-0.36}$ corresponding to an observed (expected) significance of 2.1 (2.7) standard deviations. Cross-sections of associated production of a Higgs boson decaying into $b$ quark pairs with a $W$ or $Z$ gauge boson, decaying into leptons, are measured in two exclusive vector boson transverse momentum regions, 250-400 GeV and above 400 GeV, and interpreted as constraints on anomalous couplings in the framework of a Standard Model effective field theory., Comment: 49 pages in total, author list starting page 33, 7 figures, 9 tables, published in Phys. Conservation science has rapidly adopted citizen science to engage the public in knowledge generation, developing environmental policies, solving localized environmental issues, and generating public support for environmental management. For conservation benefits to be just and equitable, it is important to ensure underserved groups have the opportunity to contribute to citizen science, but the barriers and drivers for their participation are poorly understood. This study explores the perspectives of young adults (18–50 years) who feed wild birds. Their cohort is underrepresented in Project FeederWatch, a large-scale North American citizen science project. Interviews with 72 young adults who do not participate in Project FeederWatch, reveal their motivations to feed birds to be primarily for the benefits it provides for themselves (such as experiencing nature, joy and relaxation) and helping the birds survive. An additional motivation, previously undetected, is to share their feeder bird experiences with others in their social networks. The interviewees hold positive attitudes towards involvement in, and outcomes of Project FeederWatch, although some concerns and barriers to participation are particular to their age group. Most notably, limits on their time and financial resources typical for their life-stage present substantial challenges to their involvement. Project design elements including simple instructions and protocol, a mobile app, and reminders will enable their participation. Social norms related to participation in citizen science are found to be weak. This exploratory work is essential for further research on young adults' involvement in knowledge generation to inform conservation science and practice. This study investigates potential factors influencing young adults' participation in a bird feeding citizen science project in North America. Managers of marine protected areas (MPAs) are constantly challenged to encourage positive user behaviour to minimise impacts on marine ecosystems while allowing recreational use. Yet, some marine users continue to act in ways that diminish conservation values of the area. Drawing on social psychological theories, this paper presents a case for informed behaviour change strategies to reduce problem behaviours in MPAs and contribute to conservation efforts. Social psychological drivers of behaviour are explained and applied to an MPA context to demonstrate how they can inform strategies for predicting and changing behaviour using persuasive communication. As behavioural and persuasive communication theories are seldom invoked and almost never rigorously applied to MPAs, the review offers new theoretical and practical insights into how they can assist MPA management to target and shift specific behaviours that ultimately support marine park values. Background: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO) of a coronary artery can provide benefits in terms of myocardial function and survival but the procedure is complex and the success rate is relatively low. To assess these benefits, myocardial function, ischemia and viability should be clearly determined by means of a reliable diagnostic test. This study aimed to assess ventricular function and myocardial ischemia before and after PCI for CTO using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). NYHA functional class was also assessed before and after PCI. Methods and results: CMR studies were performed in 43 consecutive patients (7 females; aged 64±9.6y.o.) with CTO scheduled for PCI and repeated 6months post-PCI. PCI was successful in 33 (77%) of them. In this group CMR had shown inducible perfusion defects in 26 (79%) before PCI, while they were observed in 10 (30%) post-PCI CMR study (p<0.001). The number of segments showing inducible perfusion defect (3.4±2 prevs. 2.9±4.5 post-PCI, p=0.002) was significantly reduced in this group. Regional contractile function of segments showing viability also improved significantly in the group with successful CTO PCI compared to the group with an unsuccessful procedure. NYHA functional class for angina also improved in patients with successful revascularization while it remained unchanged in the group with unsuccessful procedures. Conclusions: A successful CTO PCI leads to a reduction in inducible myocardial ischemia and to an improvement in regional wall motion, which results in clinical improvement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: The engagement of antigen receptors on lymphocytes leads to the activation of phospholipase C-γ, the mobilization of intracellular calcium and the activation of the NFAT transcription factor. The coupling of antigen receptors to the activation of NFAT is modulated by numerous cellular effectors including phospho-inositide 3-kinase (PI3K), which is activated following receptor cross-linking. The activation of PI3K has both positive and negative effects on the receptor-mediated activation of NFAT. An increase in the level and activity of Akt2, a target of activated PI3K, potently inhibits the subsequent activation of NFAT. In contrast, an elevation in Akt1 has no effect on signaling. Signaling pathways operating both upstream and downstream of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3)-stimulated calcium release from intracellular stores are unaffected by Akt2. An increase in the level of Akt2 has no significant effect on the initial amplitude, but substantially reduces the duration of calcium mobilization. The ability of Akt2 to inhibit prolonged calcium mobilization is abrogated by the administration of a cell permeable peptide that blocks the interaction between Bcl-2 and the IP3 receptor. Thus, Akt2 is a negative regulator of NFAT activation through its ability to inhibit calcium mobilization from the ER. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

The emergence of citizen science has opened new possibilities for research to inform management and conservation policies. This requires a deep understanding and inclusion of diverse stakeholders. In marine environments, divers are among the largest groups of citizen science volunteers, compared to other marine users. However, little is known about how the diversity of divers can affect their interest and participation in citizen science. Using 229 structured face-to-face interviews we investigated differences in diving specialization levels among diver types (i.e. artisanal fishers, dive instructors, recreational divers, divers with scientific background, and others) and we evaluated the relationship between diving specialization level and actual participation in Marine Citizen Science. Findings show important differences in diving specialization levels among diver types. Recreational divers have the lowest levels of specialization and artisanal fishers the highest. High levels of scientific training favored participation in the citizen science project, but there was no relationship between diving specialization level and participation rate. We conclude that different diver types have particular strengths and requirements to participate in Marine Citizen Science, and that integrating a diversity of divers can create important synergies. Taking the heterogeneity of potential participants into account will help engage a greater diversity of volunteers in citizen science and thus contribute to generating better policies and stakeholder support for marine conservation and sustainable management. • Integrating a diversity of divers in marine citizen science can have important benefits for marine policy and conservation. • Diving specialization level helps to explain differences among divers and can aid in their engagement in citizen science. • Engaging diverse divers enables citizen science to tackle ecological, management and conservation issues more effectively. 34. Food aversion and poor weight gain in food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome: A retrospective study.

Food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a form of non–IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergy. Insufficient data exist in regard to gastrointestinal history and outcome, particularly comorbidity, family history, food aversion, and poor body weight gain. We sought to identify the gastrointestinal outcomes and related risk factors in FPIES. We analyzed the clinical features and gastrointestinal outcomes of patients with FPIES retrospectively at 4 hospitals in Boston. Two hundred three patients with FPIES were identified, including 180 only with acute FPIES, 8 with chronic FPIES, and 15 with both. Oat (34.5%), rice (29.6%), and cow's milk (19.2%) were the most common food triggers. The prevalence rates of personal history with allergic proctocolitis (23.2%) and family history with inflammatory bowel diseases (9.4%) and celiac disease (7.3%) were higher than those in the general population. Compared with patients with FPIES with 1 or 2 food triggers, the risk of developing food aversion increased in cases triggered by 3 or more foods (adjusted odds ratio, 3.07; 95% CI, 1.38-6.82; P =.006). The risk of poor body weight gain increased in FPIES triggered by cow's milk (adjusted odds ratio, 3.41; 95% CI, 1.21-9.63; P =.02) and banana (adjusted odds ratio, 7.63; 95% CI, 2.10-27.80; P =.002). Gastrointestinal comorbidities and family history were common in patients with FPIES. Patients with FPIES with 3 or more triggers were at risk of food aversion. The recently constructed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), houses the National Opera and the National Library of Greece. In order for the structural design to meet the demanding architectural requirements as well as the high-performance seismic specifications that were set, a seismic isolation system was incorporated. SSI effects due to poor silty sands were an additional challenge. After presenting the design parameters and the choice of seismic isolation type, the paper focuses on the methodology for the seismic design. This, performed in three consecutive stages, includes simple analyses using single-degree of freedom model for initial scheming, dynamic response spectrum analyses for detailed design and non-linear time history analyses using two sets of selected earthquake records, semi-artificial and real ones, for verification of the response. The results demonstrate a good correlation between different analysis techniques and provide a valuable insight into the behaviour of two complex, seismically isolated structures under seismic loads. Abstract: SH2 domains are attractive targets for chemotherapeutic agents due to their involvement in the formation of protein-protein interactions critical to many signal transduction cascades. Little is known, however, about how synthetic SH2 domain ligands would influence the growth properties of tumor cells or with which intracellular proteins they would interact due to their highly charged nature and enzymatic lability. In this study, a prodrug delivery strategy was used to introduce an enzymatically stable, phosphotyrosine peptidomimetic into tumor cells. When tested in a human tumor cell panel, the prodrug exhibited a preference for inhibiting the growth of leukemia and lymphoma cells. In these cells, it was largely cytostatic and induced endoreduplication and the appearance of midbodies. Proteomic analyses identified multiple targets that included mitotic centromere-associated kinesin (MCAK). Molecular modeling studies suggested the ATP-binding site on MCAK as the likely site of drug interaction. Consistent with this, ATP inhibited the drug-MCAK interaction and the drug inhibited MCAK ATPase activity. Accordingly, the effects of the prodrug on the assembly of the mitotic spindle and alignment of chromosomes were consistent with the identification of MCAK as an important intracellular target.
