Gels stand out as favored soft matter materials across diverse industries, spanning from food processing to biomedicine. Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) emerge as environmentally friendly liquids, blending low-melting-point combinations with customizable chemical properties, thereby presenting safer alternatives to hazardous organic reagents. Crafted using DESs as solvents, eutectogels showcase superior mechanical qualities, an expanded electrochemical operating range, and a vast array of potential applications. Despite the remarkable enhancement of functional attributes facilitated by numerous non-covalent interactions through intermolecular forces and increased physical cross-linking within the three-dimensional networks of eutectogels, a critical gap persists in understanding the microscopic mechanisms that underlie non-covalent interaction-property correlations within them. To bridge this gap, this review categorizes and summarizes recent scientific investigations that explore non-covalent interactions within eutectogels, with the aim of highlighting the collaborative design and control of these interactions. We aspire for this review to ignite innovative design concepts and facilitate the development of revolutionary high-performance eutectogel materials. Eutectogels, formulated with DES as the solvent system, exhibit exceptional mechanical strength, an extended electrochemical operational range, and versatile application possibilities. This review systematically categorizes recent research efforts on eutectogels based on the non-covalent interactions present within them, aiming to enhance the understanding of how these interactions shape gel properties. • We reported 6 cases of children with kerion who were successfully treated with photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with antifungal agents.All patients achieved good clinical efficacy and safety. • We searched for 6 published reports of kerion or tinea capitis in the literature and analyzed and summarized the characteristics and efficacy of the cases. • PDT combined with oral antifungal drugs is a good choice for curing kerion. Pre-treatment and early combination can maximize the curative effect, shorten the course of disease, and reduce the adverse reactions of cicatricial alopecia. Kerion, a severe manifestation of tinea capitis caused by dermatophytes, is a fungal skin disease primarily affecting children. This report discusses six cases of pediatric kerion that were successfully treated with a combination of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and antifungal agents. Additionally, we conducted a literature review, identifying and analyzing six published reports on kerion and tinea capitis. The characteristics and efficacies of these cases are summarized. In summary, early combination therapy and proactive pre-treatment interventions proved effective in maximizing therapeutic outcomes, reducing disease duration and minimizing adverse reactions such as cicatricial alopecia. • A multimodal depression detection model (MFM-Att) is proposed. • MFM-Att combines audio, visual and textual modality. • Multi-level attention extracts effective feature of intra and inter modality. Depression is a common mental illness that affects the physical and mental health of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Therefore, designing an efficient and robust depression detection model is an urgent research task. In order to fully extract depression features, we systematically analyze audio-visual and text data related to depression, and proposes a multimodal fusion model with multi-level attention mechanism (MFM-Att) for depression detection. The method is mainly divided into two stages: the first stage utilizes two LSTMs and a Bi-LSTM with attention mechanism to learn multi-view audio feature, visual feature and rich text feature, respectively. In the second stage, the output features of the three modalities are sent into the attention fusion network (AttFN) to obtain effective depression information, aiming to make use of the diversity and complementarity between modalities for depression detection. It is worth noting that the multi-level attention mechanism can not only extract valuable depressive features of intra-modality, but also learn the correlations of inter-modality, thereby improving the overall performance of the model by reducing the influence of redundant information. MFM-Att model is evaluated on the DAIC-WOZ dataset, and the result outperforms state-of-the-art models in terms of root mean square error (RMSE). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is actively transcribed from human genome and has been considered to participate in many processes of various cancers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression of LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 and its prognostic value in NSCLC. LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 expression was detected by qRT-PCR which demonstrated that the expression was significantly increased in tumor tissues compared with the adjacent non-cancerous tissues and healthy tissues. The clinical stage, smoking history, infiltration degree, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis were all proved to impact the expression of LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 ( P < 0.05). Kaplan–Meier analysis was performed to evaluate the overall survival of NSCLC patients with different expression level of LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 , and results showed that patients with high LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 expression lived shorter than those with low LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 expression (Log rank test, P < 0.001). Besides, the prognostic value of LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 as well as the clinical features was assessed by Cox regression analysis. The outcome revealed that LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 was closely related to the prognosis of NSCLC. Taken together, LncRNA AFAP1-AS1 was up-regulated in NSCLC tissues and it could be an independent prognostic indicator for NSCLC patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LncRNAs are increasingly verified to be aberrantly expressed in cancers. The abnormal expression of lncRNAs has turned out to be closely related to tumorigenesis or tumor progression. It has been reported that lncRNA OPI5-AS1 serves as a crucial regulator in tumors. However, the specific function of OIP5-AS1 on the progression of lung adenocarcinoma is still uncertain. In this paper, we mainly elucidated that OIP5-AS1 exerts oncogenic functions in human lung adenocarcinoma through targeting miR-448. We inspected that the expression of OIP5-AS1 was definitely high in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and cells, while miR-448 was sluggishly expressed in lung adenocarcinoma. OIP5-AS1 and miR-448 was negatively related to each other, the result was obtained from Pearson correlation analysis. We discovered a fact that OIP5-AS1 could directly sponge miR-448 through using dual luciferase reporter assay, RIP assay and RNA pull-down assay. Cell proliferation, migration and invasion were restrained after we disrupted the expression of OIP5-AS1 in lung adenocarcinoma. We also certified that OIP5-AS1 could sponge and regulate miR-448 to affect cell function in lung adenocarcinoma. MiR-448 could target Bcl-2 and affect the expression of Bcl-2. Then, we discovered that the expression of OIP5-AS1 and Bcl-2 was positively related. Left ventricular (LV) systolic dyssynchrony is an important pathologic mechanism in patients with heart failure (HF). However, the prevalence of intraventricular dyssynchrony in patients with different LV ejection fractions (EFs) is unknown. This study evaluated 402 consecutive patients with HF (mean age 64.99 ± 13.15 years, 72.4% men) and 120 healthy controls. Dyssynchrony indexes included the SD of the time to peak systolic velocity (Ts) in ejection phase in the 12-segmental model (Ts-SD) and the difference in Ts between basal septal and basal lateral segments (Ts-Septal-Lateral) using tissue Doppler imaging. Patients were divided into 3 groups according to LVEF (LVEF <20%, >20% to 35%, and >35% to 50%) and compared with healthy controls. Both indexes were significantly higher in all 3 LVEF groups compared with controls (p <0.0001). Based on the established cut-off values, systolic dyssynchrony was equally prevalent in all 3 LVEF groups and was 67%, 62%, and 55% using Ts-SD and 38%, 36%, and 35% using Ts-Septal-Lateral, respectively. However, the prevalence of systolic dyssynchrony was higher using Ts-SD than Ts-Septal-Lateral (chi-square = 94.43, p <0.001). Conversely, the prevalence of electrical dyssynchrony, defined as a >120-ms QRS duration, decreased significantly with increasing LVEF (44%, 35%, and 16%; chi-square 5.60, p <0.001). In conclusion, the prevalence of mechanical systolic dyssynchrony was independent of severity of LV systolic dysfunction. This may implicate the potential role of cardiac resynchronization therapy for those with LVEF of 35% to 50%, in particular when systolic dyssynchrony is present. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
