The current paper aims to complement the recent development of the observation-driven models of dynamic counts with a parametric-driven one for a general case, particularly discrete two parameters exponential family distributions. The current paper proposes a finite semiparametric exponential mixture of SETAR processes of the conditional mean of counts to capture the nonlinearity and complexity. Because of the intrinsic latency of the conditional mean, the general additive state-space representation of dynamic counts is firstly proposed then stationarity and geometric ergodicity are established under a mild set of conditions. We also propose to estimate the unknown parameters by using quasi maximum likelihood estimation and establishes the asymptotic properties of the quasi maximum likelihood estimators (QMLEs), particularly T -consistency and normality under the relatively mild set of conditions. Furthermore, the finite sample properties of the QMLEs are investigated via simulation exercises and an illustration of the proposed process is presented by applying the proposed method to the intraday transaction counts per minute of AstraZeneca stock. Acknowledging the limitations of traditional pedagogy on conventional competencies, this study aims to explore the effectiveness of the Living Lab approach in enhancing students' competencies and propose a Living Lab model in tourism higher education. For this purpose, the data were collected from university students of tourism and hotel management who took a tourism Living Lab class in South Korea in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Adapting Sker and Floričić's three stages of the Living Lab procedure, this study analyzed the data using feedback from observations, field notes, open-ended questionnaires, and reflective journals that enabled qualitative content analysis. The results of this research manifest four themes: competency in professional development , collaboration and networking , learning agility and adaptability, and emotional connections. One of the most important measures for improving the performance of a machine tool is to set its controller parameters appropriately. The setting of these parameters is typically done by an expert when the machine tool is initially installed. Although parameter tuning is crucial when there is a change in the operation conditions, it is a challenge faced by non-experts as improper settings can result in critical problems in the machine tools. Simulation software, which estimate the control performance and identify appropriate parameters, can be used for the easy customization of these parameters. However, it is difficult to accurately model a commercial controller owing to its complex structure and several hidden functions. This paper proposes a novel method that utilizes Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation for estimating the position control performance of machine tool feed drives. HIL improves the simulation accuracy by integrating a real commercial controller into the simulation loop. The simulation error caused by the inaccuracy of the controller model is out of existence in the HIL simulation. The procedure of configuring the HIL simulation, from modeling and parameter identification of the machine tool feed drives, to organizing data exchange between the real controller and feed drive model, is extensively explained. The accuracy of the proposed HIL simulation is experimentally evaluated and applied for the estimation of position control performance, based on the controller parameters. The estimation of step response, failure mode, and effect analysis, as well as the evaluation of the control algorithm, are also performed using the HIL simulation. This study aims to investigate the perceptual differences in core competencies of tourism graduates between the main stakeholders in higher education; namely, industry practitioners and students in Korea employing Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The results show that both groups emphasize core competencies in common, including a considerate attitude, communication ability, integrated thinking ability, language ability, and a goal-orientated disposition. However, there are different perceptions regarding the relative importance among competencies. The results reflect insights into the amount of consideration that needs to be given to bolster competency-based tourism education in an effort to prepare students in developing both job-specific and generic skills. This study developed a conceptual framework for a preventive travel decision-making process amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, combining the Health Belief Model (HBM) and Value-Belief-Norm (VBN). Analyzing 409 responses collected from an online survey, this study verified the integrated model as a salient theory addressing the importance of social components and health belief factors in affecting behavior. The model revealed that altruistic value influences the HBM variables, whereas personal norms mediate preventive behaviors and beliefs in both VBN and HBM. These findings offer new theoretical insights into decision-making process and provide practitioners with effective crisis management strategies concerning pro-social and health beliefs. • The integrated model concerned both individual and social beliefs during the COVID-19. • Altruistic value in Value-Belief-Norm affected tourist's beliefs in preventive travel behaviors. • Personal norms mediated preventive behaviors and beliefs in both models. • Preventive travel behaviors - moderate and active - were determined by different variables. • The integration offers a holistic view in explaining tourists' decision-making process.
