Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 is still active in Wuhan, China, and is spreading to the rest of the world. Recently, perioperative anesthetic management in patients with suspected or confirmed coronavirus-2 has been reported. However, little has been reported on the anesthetic management of patients undergoing aortic dissection repair in patients with suspected severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 infection. During the outbreak in Wuhan, the authors' team completed 4 cases of aortic dissection repair successfully in patients with suspected severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 infection. The purpose of the present report is to summarize current knowledge and experiences on anesthetic management in this patient population and to provide clinical practice guidelines on anesthetic management and infection prevention and control in these critically ill patients. Viscosity has a significant impact on aerobic respiration in mitochondria. Many foods contain cyanide (CN−) and can cause serious toxicity when consumed in excess. This study discusses the design and synthesis of a dual-response coumarin-based near-infrared fluorescent probe (CCB) for the simultaneous detection of mitochondrial viscosity and CN−. CCB and viscosity have a strong log-linear relationship with a correlation coefficient of 0.997. Additionally, CN− detection can be visualized using a colorimetric method with a detection limit as low as 0.22 µM. Test strips were prepared to facilitate CN− detection in plants. Additional studies have shown the remarkable biocompatibility of CCB, which may be used for real time detection of exogenous CN− and intracellular mitochondrial viscosity and in vivo bioimaging of viscosity in mice. Critical algal blooms in great lakes increase the level of algal organic matters (AOMs), significantly altering the composition of natural organic matters (NOMs) in freshwater of lake. This study examined the AOM's characteristics of Nitzschia palea ( N. palea ), one kind of the predominant diatom and an important biomarker of water quality in the great lakes of China, to investigate the effect of AOMs on the variation of NOMs in lakes and the process of algal energy. Excitation–emission matrix fluorescence (EEM) spectroscopy, synchronous fluorescence (SF) spectroscopy and deconvolution UV–vis (D-UV) spectroscopy were utilized to characterize AOMs to study the effects of nutrient loading on the composition change of AOMs. From results, it was revealed that the phosphorus is the limiting factor for N. palea 's growth and the generation of both total organic carbon and amino acids but the nitrogen is more important for the generation of carbohydrates and proteins. EEM spectra revealed differences in the composition of extracellular organic matter and intracellular organic matter. Regardless of the nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations, aromatic proteins and soluble microbial products were the main components, but the nitrogen concentration had a significant impact on their composition. The SF spectra were used to study the AOMs for the first time and identified that the protein-like substances were the major component of AOMs, creating as a result of aromatic group condensation. The D-UV spectra showed carboxylic acid and esters were the main functional groups in the EOMs, with –OCH 3 , –SO 2 NH 2 , –CN, –NH 2 , –O– and –COCH 3 functional groups substituting into benzene rings. Although resistin-like molecule β (RELM-β) is involved in the pathological processes of various lung diseases, such as pulmonary inflammation, asthma and fibrosis, its potential roles in hypoxic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) remain largely unknown. The study aims to investigate whether RELM-β contributes to hypoxia-induced excessive proliferation of human pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) and to explore the potential mechanisms of this process. Human PASMCs were exposed to normoxia or hypoxia (1% O 2) for 24 h. siRNA targeting RELM-β was transfected into cells. Protein levels of KCNK3, RELM-β, pSTAT3 and STAT3 were determined by immunoblotting. The translocation of NFATc2 and expression of KCNK3 were visualized by immunofluorescence. 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine assays and cell counting kit-8 assays were performed to assess the proliferation of PASMCs. (1) Chronic hypoxia significantly decreased KCNK3 protein levels while upregulating RELM-β protein levels in human PASMCs, which was accompanied by excessive proliferation of cells. (2) RELM-β could promote human PASMCs proliferation and activate the STAT3/NFAT axis by downregulating KCNK3 protein under normoxia. (3) Inhibition of RELM-β expression effectively prevented KCNK3-mediated cell proliferation under hypoxia. (4) Phospholipase C (PLC) inhibitor U-73122 could not only prevent the hypoxia/RELM-β-induced decrease in KCNK3 protein, but also inhibit the enhanced cell viability caused by hypoxia/RELM-β. (5) Both hypoxia and RELM-β could downregulate membrane KCNK3 protein levels by enhancing endocytosis. RELM-β activation is responsible for hypoxia-induced excessive proliferation of human PASMCs. Rare saponins show numerous significant biological activities, however, there has been no research on using ginseng fruit rare saponins (GFRS) to minimize skin wrinkles. This paper studied the anti-wrinkle effect, related mechanism, material basis of efficacy, and structure-activity relationship of GFRS in vivo and in vitro. The findings demonstrate that GFRS has potent collagenase and elastase inhibition capabilities in addition to superior ultraviolet absorption properties. Secondly, GFRS can strengthen the endogenous antioxidant defense system, thus lessening the UVB-induced ultraviolet damage that L929 cells and zebrafish experience. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) studies have shown that GFRS could significantly inhibit the UVB-induced MMP1 and MMP9 proteins production. Finally, the main ginsenoside component in GFRS was identified by LC-MS, and 16 kinds of ginsenoside were analyzed, including rare ginsenoside such as Rg 6 , F4, and R/S-Rg 3 , which may be caused by the transformation of prototype saponins Re and Rd caused by citric acid heat treatment (CAHT). After doing a quantitative HPLC analysis on twelve of them, it was discovered that CAHT could enrich the content of rare saponins in GFS. By evaluating these ginsenoside's anti-wrinkle properties. It is found that the main material basis for GFRS's anti-wrinkle action may be ginsenoside Rg 6 or F4. In summary, GFRS exhibits promising properties as an anti-wrinkle treatment because of its robust anti-oxidation, anti-collagenase, anti-elastase activity, favorable ultraviolet absorption effect, and capacity to regulate MMPs in vivo and in vitro models. Inflammation is the body's protective immune response to tissue damage. Ginseng has a long history of medicinal use, and its active ingredient ginsenosides have anti-inflammatory effects. Ginseng fruit rare saponins (GFRS) is a transformation product of ginseng saponins and rich in a variety of rare saponins. We used HPLC-DAD method to study GFRS rare saponins with ginsenoside F4, R -Rg 3 , S Rg 3 , Rk 1 , Rg 6 , Rg 5 , Rk 3 and Rh 4. However, there is no study on the use of GFRS to reduce skin inflammation. This study enriched the action pathway of GFRS through network pharmacology and revealed the anti-inflammatory effect of GFRS for the first time. In vitro experiments showed that GFRS could significantly reduce the release of NO in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) -induced RAW264.7 cells and HaCaT cells, and reduce the secretion and expression of inflammation-related factors Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and Interleukin-17 A (IL-17 A), thereby reducing cell inflammatory damage. In the imiquimod (IMQ) -induced mouse inflammatory model, the therapeutic effect of GFRS on the pathogenesis of psoriasis-like dermatitis was studied. In vivo experiments showed that the skin erythema, scales, thickness and inflammatory infiltration of GFRS-treated mice were reduced, and the psoriasis area severity index score was significantly lower than that of IMQ group. GFRS restored IMQ-induced spleen size and reduced the secretion and expression of TNF-α, IL-6, Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and IL-17 A in serum. In summary, our results demonstrate that GFRS alleviates IMQ-induced dermatitis symptoms, effectively reduces the secretion of inflammatory factors, and inhibits IL-17 A expression.
