Current Head and Neck cancer (HNC) follow-up models are considered sub-optimal at detecting recurrences. We describe the development of a patient-initiated follow up (PIFU) trial intervention support package, to support HNC patients to engage in PIFU self-care behaviors. An intervention mapping approach, informed by evidence synthesis, theory and stakeholder consultation, guided intervention development. Data sources included a patient survey (n = 144), patient interviews (n = 30), 7 workshops with patients (n = 25) and caregivers (n = 3) and 5 workshops with health professionals (n = 21). The intervention (' ACT now & check-it-out') comprises an education and support session with a health professional and an app and/or a booklet for patients. The main targets for change in patient self-care behaviors were: assessing what is normal for them; regularly checking for symptom changes; prompt help-seeking for persistent/new symptoms; self-management of fear of recurrence; engaging with the intervention over time. We have developed an evidence, person and theory-based intervention to support PIFU self-care behaviors in HNC patients. A trial is underway to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the intervention. If successful, this intervention could be adapted for patients with other cancers or diseases, which is important given the recent shift towards PIFU pathways. • An intervention support package developed for Head and Neck Cancer patients. • Patients will be supported on a patient-initiated follow up trial. • An education and support session, digital app and booklet were co-designed. • Targets for behavior change included engagement in self-care behaviour. • This model of intervention could be modified in other cancers and diseases. Exercise referral schemes (ERS) reduce depression but the additional effect on mental health from web-based behavioural support is unknown. The e-coachER trial reported no effect of augmenting usual ERS with theory-driven web-based behavioural support on moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) at 12 months for patients with chronic physical and mental health conditions. The present study reports the effects of the e-coachER intervention on depression, anxiety and MVPA only among participants with elevated depressive symptoms and investigates whether these were mediated by changes in MVPA and hypothesised cognitive and behavioural processes. Of the original 450 adults recruited into the e-coachER trial, 205 had at least mild depression, based on the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), and were included in the present analysis. Data collected included the HADS, accelerometer measured and self-reported MVPA and survey process measures on physical activity action planning, self-monitoring and goal reviewing, and perceived importance, confidence, competence, autonomy and support. Linear mixed models were used to compare groups for change in depression and anxiety at 4 and 12 months using intention-to-treat complete case analysis, controlling for baseline. We also examined whether changes in physical activity and process variables at 4 months mediated changes in depression and anxiety at 12 months. Of the 205 participants, 138 (67%) provided follow-up data at four months and 126 (61%) at 12 months. For those that provided follow-up data, those randomised to e-coachER reported improved levels of depression (−1.36, 95% CI: −2.55 to −0.18) but not anxiety, or MVPA, compared with controls at four months. No differences were observed at 12 months for depression, anxiety or MVPA. Intervention effects on accelerometer-measured or self-reported MVPA did not mediate improvements in depression or anxiety. However, intervention effects on confidence, competence and self-monitoring at four months significantly mediated the reduction in depression scores at four months. Intervention effects on competence and self-monitoring at four months also significantly mediated improvements in anxiety scores at four months. Adding web-based support to usual ERS leads to reductions in depression but not anxiety at four months. Changes in depression and anxiety were influenced by changing people's motivational regulations toward physical activity. The benefit of adding web-based support to usual ERS on mental health appears to be from increasing a sense of confidence, competence and self-monitoring rather than from increasing physical activity in people with elevated depression. ERS should focus more on strengthening motivational regulations than just doing more exercise. Increasing physical activity in people with depression may have the dual benefit of targeting mental and physical health outcomes (Faulkner & Taylor, 2012). This paper describes the development and theoretical framework for a web-based behavioural activation (BA) intervention, which specifically promotes physical activity (eMotion). The Centre for eHealth Research and Disease Management (CeHReS) roadmap (van Gemert-Pijnen et al., 2011) was used to guide the process of adapting an existing face to face intervention based on BA and physical activity (BAcPAc) (Farrand et al., 2014) to be used in an online context. The CeHReS roadmap promotes active stakeholder involvement and helped to ensure that key user needs were being catered to along the developmental process. Details about the background of the intervention are provided, including the theoretical framework. A detailed description of how eMotion was operationalised (in line with TIDieR guidelines (Hoffmann et al., 2014)) is also provided. eMotion aims to offer person-centred support through optimising engagement in web-based support, building on the previous BAcPAc trial. Abstract: The brownmillerite structure provides an ordered vacancy lattice into which fluorine anions should easily be accommodated, with full occupation of the vacant sites resulting in a simple perovskite structure. Low-temperature fluorine insertion reactions with the brownmillerite Sr2Co2O5 and related materials Sr2CoFeO5 and Sr2Fe2O5 have been investigated with a view to using fluorine insertion reactions to fill the oxygen vacancies in these materials, thus forming cubic perovskite-type phases with mixed 3+/4+ B cation oxidation states. The synthesis and magnetic properties of the new perovskite materials SrCoO2.5F0.5 and SrCo0.5Fe0.5O2.5F0.5 are presented here, supplemented by a consideration of Madelung energy calculations in order to explain the dissimilar fluorination behaviour of Sr2Fe2O5. Abstract: The substitution Ti4+ + Li+ = Ni2+ + M3+ (M = Mn or Cr) has been tested in the spinel-type lithium titanium oxide Li4Ti5O12. The single-phase materials Li3Ti4NiMnO12 and Li3Ti4NiCrO12 have been synthesized by a modified sol–gel procedure and characterized by different techniques. X-ray diffraction indicates that the two materials crystallize in the typical space group, and Li3Ti4NiMnO12 contains more “heavy” ions (likely, Mn3+) in the tetrahedral sites than Li3Ti4NiCrO12. Li3Ti4NiMnO12 shows a two-step reduction profile in the voltage range 0.5–2.5 V vs. Li/Li+ while Li3Ti4NiCrO12 shows a reduction profile typical for Li4Ti5O12. Initial discharge capacities close to the theoretical capacities were observed for both materials with considerable capacity retention on cycling. Due to smaller mean particle size and higher electronic conductivity of Li3Ti4NiCrO12, the material shows an improved rate capability compared with unsubstituted Li4Ti5O12. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: NdBaMnCoO5 has been synthesized using a mass-flow controlled reducing reaction, followed by low (800°C) temperature oxidation to produce NdBaMnCoO6. The structures and properties have been analyzed using powder neutron diffraction and magnetic susceptibility measurements. At room temperature both phases are tetragonal with unit cells a p × a p ×2a p (a p =perovskite subcell length) showing full order of the A-site cations and no order of either B-site cations or charge. Low temperature neutron diffraction shows a fully antiferromagnetic (G-type) structure for NdBaMnCoO5 (cell √2a p ×√2a p ×2a p) and an orthorhombic cell (2a p ×2a p ×2a p) for NdBaMnCoO6. Three separate, systematic literature searches identified 2,343 papers in total. Overall, 44 studies were included for data extraction and analysis. The included systematic reviews and meta-analyses published between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2017, were of good to very good quality (median Overview Quality Assessment Questionnaire score = 17). Identified evidence suggests that cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention services should consider regulation of blood glucose as a key target for intervention. Furthermore, the recommendations for effective intervention and service development/training described here for prevention of CVD should be adopted into evidence-based practice guidelines. Multidisciplinary teams should be formed to deliver multicomponent interventions in community-based settings. Abstract: Fluorine insertion into the oxygen defect superstructure manganite Sr2MnO3.5+x has been shown by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to result in two levels of fluorination. In the higher fluorine content sections, the fluorine anions displace oxygen anions from their apical positions into the equatorial vacancies, thus destroying the superstructure and reverting to a K2NiF4-type structure (a =3.8210(1)Å and c =12.686(1)Å). Conversely, lower fluorine content sections retain the Sr2MnO3.5+x defect superstructure, crystallising in the P21/c space group. Fluorine intercalation into the reduced double-layer manganite Sr3Mn2O6 occurs in a step-wise fashion according to the general formula Sr3Mn2O6F y with y =1, 2, and 3. It is proposed that the y =1 phase (a =3.815(1)Å, c =20.29(2)Å) is produced by the filling of all the equatorial oxygen vacancies by fluorine atoms whilst the y =2 phase (a =3.8222(2)Å, c =21.2435(3)Å) has a random distribution of fluorine anions throughout both interstitial rocksalt and equatorial sites. Neutron powder diffraction data suggest that the fully fluorinated y =3 phase (a =3.8157(6)Å, c =23.666(4)Å) corresponds to the complete occupation of all the equatorial oxygen vacancies and the interstitial sites by intercalated fluorine. Abstract: The local environments of cations in a recently reported δ-Bi2O3-related phase stabilised by erbium and rhenium, and which shows exceptionally high oxide ion conductivity at low temperatures, have been examined by Bi LIII-, Er LIII- and Re LIII- edge extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) measurements. The Bi LIII- and Er LIII- edge data recorded from the compound Bi12.5Er1.5ReO24.5 revealed a high level of oxygen disorder and the adoption by bismuth and erbium of different local environments than those previously observed in erbium-doped δ-Bi2O3. The Re LIII edge EXAFS recorded from Bi12.5Er1.5ReO24.5 endorsed the highly disordered nature of the oxygen system and showed rhenium to adopt fourfold oxygen coordination and to be significantly different from that of the local environment of rhenium in Bi28Re2O49.
