Identified mid-rapidity particle spectra of π±, K±, and p(p¯) from 200 GeV p+p and d+Au collisions are reported. A time-of-flight detector based on multi-gap resistive plate chamber technology is used for particle identification. The particle-species dependence of the Cronin effect is observed to be significantly smaller than that at lower energies. The ratio of the nuclear modification factor (RdAu) between protons (p+p¯) and charged hadrons (h) in the transverse momentum range 1.2

Nuclear Experiment - Abstract
We report the STAR measurement of ϕ meson production in Au+Au and p+p collisions at sNN=200GeV. Using the event mixing technique, the ϕ spectra and yields are obtained at mid-rapidity for five centrality bins in Au+Au collisions and for non-singly-diffractive p+p collisions. It is found that the ϕ transverse momentum distributions from Au+Au collisions are better fitted with a single-exponential while the p+p spectrum is better described by a double-exponential distribution. The measured nuclear modification factors indicate that ϕ production in central Au+Au collisions is suppressed relative to peripheral collisions when scaled by the number of binary collisions (〈Nbin〉). The systematics of 〈pt〉 versus centrality and the constant ϕ/K− ratio versus beam species, centrality, and collision energy rule out kaon coalescence as the dominant mechanism for ϕ production.

We present the first measurements of charge-dependent correlations on angular difference variables η1−η2 (pseudorapidity) and ϕ1−ϕ2 (azimuth) for primary charged hadrons with transverse momentum 0.15⩽pt⩽2 GeV/c and |η|⩽1.3 from Au–Au collisions at sNN=130 GeV. We observe correlation structures not predicted by theory but consistent with evolution of hadron emission geometry with increasing centrality from one-dimensional fragmentation of color strings along the beam direction to an at least two-dimensional hadronization geometry along the beam and azimuth directions of a hadron-opaque bulk medium.

Abstract: In this work, angular distribution measurements for the elastic channel were performed for the 9Be+ 12C reaction at the energies , 14.5, 17.3, 19.0 and 21.0 MeV, near the Coulomb barrier. The data have been analyzed in the framework of the double folding São Paulo potential. The experimental elastic scattering angular distributions were well described by the optical potential at forward angles for all measured energies. However, for the three highest energies, an enhancement was observed for intermediate and backward angles. This can be explained by the elastic transfer mechanism. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: The reactions induced by the weakly bound 6Li projectile interacting with the intermediate mass target 59Co were investigated. Light charged particles singles and α–d coincidence measurements were performed at the near barrier energies , 21.5, 25.5 and 29.6 MeV. The main contributions of the different competing mechanisms are discussed. A statistical model analysis, Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channels (CDCC) calculations and two-body kinematics were used as tools to provide information to disentangle the main components of these mechanisms. A significant contribution of the direct breakup was observed through the difference between the experimental sequential breakup cross section and the CDCC prediction for the non-capture breakup cross section.
